I have now used Aptos Plumbing on 4 different jobs. They are the best plumbers in the Santa Cruz area.

I needed a Moen water detection system because Farmer's Insurance wasn't going to issue a renewal policy unless I installed a Moen system. First of all, Todd was extremely flexible in meeting my schedule. I elected to have a water softener installed as well because of the hard water affecting my sinks and dishwasher. Ariel was on the job, plus an intern and a apprentice. He did a great job in laying things out. Bruce showed up with the water softener and he was able to secure a better water softener at a slightly higher incremental price. Bruce really knows what he's doing. If he is on the job, you know it will be done right. His honesty and candor really makes a difference. Another great job by Aptos plumbing-this firm is the best!

Aptos plumbing came out to fix a clogged toilet and sink. I was travelling at the time. I thought he said $250 (which I thought was expensive for an hour, but fine). And then I got a bill for $500 - for 45min of work and no parts. I complained and told them like I felt like I was getting scammed and they said nope that's the price you pay for plumbers in this town.

First of all, I don't know much about plumbing. So when our hot water heater died a few years ago, we called a few companies and got quotes. We had Aptos Plumbing come out. I was talked into a tankless hot water heater. Things went well and the install was complete.

Fast forward to today. We are remodeling our other bathroom. The plumbers and contractor came out and while working asked if I did the installation. I explained who did it. They all laughed and informed me i got hosed. All of the plumbing under the house was poorly installed, and the material ""sharkbite"" was the cheapest you could use. Furthermore, instead of running direct lines to the other side of the house, they used pieces of spare pipe and coupled them all together. Clearly they skimped on materials to save money, which was always my concern. As a customer, you want to have faith that the work you are paying for is done correctly and honestly. Thankfully, I have a contractor and plumber who are replacing everything under the house correctly and professionally.

These guys are the absolute best. They were here the next day AND on time, fixed the mess my husband tried to fix without a complain! Came back the next day with a part they didn't have and gave us a VERY reasonable bill. Best part is my sink no longer leaks, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg And I now have a great plumbing to call when I need them

Thank you Aptos Plumbing! My old fireplace has been resurrected! Ariel did expert analysis, figured out how to replace gas pipes sans cutting out drywall, was efficient, informative and truly professional. As an aside, he also evaluated my water tank and thermostats, and offered recommendations without any sales pitch! Truly, he was a pleasure to work with. Aptos Plumbing has earned a return customer .... me!

After a great experience with Aptos plumbing for an interior project, they were our first call when we discovered a leak in the underground line between our house and the meter.

Our second experience was much worse, and I cannot recommend working with Todd unless you get everything in writing.

He and a worker arrived promptly, saw the sinkhole and were informed exactly where the pipe was as well as a point uphill that was known to be dry. He recommended the whole line be replaced, but also stressed that they could start digging immediately, promising ""and I can have two more guys here in a half hour"". In hopes of buying time and patching the leak, I authorized that work at $650 to cover ""a couple of spots"". Todd got on the phone and I headed back to work.

His hard-working employee had the pipe exposed quickly, just uphill of what had been previously excavated. Unfortunately it was obvious the problem was upstream, and daylight was running out.

Todd made a specific promise to call the next morning and arrange coming by the following day to finish the dig. Wednesday passed without a call. Thursday morning the $650 check cleared, and when we called to ask about scheduling the second attempt we were told that it'd be another $650.

Todd and one worker spent just under 2 hours at our property, completed at most half the work they promised, without the other two workers ever having shown up, missed his promised followup, and then had the gall to ask for another $650 to return.

Todd and his crew are responsive smart, and diligent. They diagnosed our main line leak and fixed it. His workers were here Monday morning after a weekend call, and done by Thursday. We are so grateful that Aptos Plumbing responded so quickly and did a magnificent job. Thank you so much!!!!!
