Day after Christmas furnace condensation housing unit breaks a seal and we have no heat in Denver Colorado and water everywhere.

Aaron shows up takes a look figures it out orders the part drives back to shop to pick it up comes back fixes it and we are back in business.

There's a reason we always call Applewood Plumbing and Heating when things go wrong. They are fast, conscientious, thorough and happily shows and explains what is wrong what they are doing and why. They aren't the least expensive in town but they are definitely worth the extra cost in our minds.

Great experience every time!!

Yesterday my furnace was blowing only cold air. Not good. Cats were not digging it. I called these guys to come out and take a look, knowing my flame sensor was cleaned last year, and the filter only two weeks old. The furnace is 7 years old and has worked great for all these years.
The tech that came out old me the furnace was installed improperly, and the pressure was not set correctly for high plains altitude. To fix everything ""right"" would cost $1000.

I blanched, I balked and began some logical questioning about how in hades could this perfectly working furnace be operational, at all. I asked to have my flame sensor replaced to see if that would fix it, first.

Quote for the sensor was $40. I looked up the price for such a simple part: $4-16. Oh boy, here we go. Total cost including the (10x markup on the part) would be $420. Unless the tech was right and I was back at looking at $1000.

In a jam for the holidays, I went ahead with my plan. It worked, (ahem) and the furnace is keeping the cats from moving out and finding more civilized living conditions.

Yelp folks, I just paid $380 for 15 minutes of work, and $40 for a $4 part. This company is absolutely predatory in labor pricing, and I may add, evil in their gross, greedy markup.

I gave them 1 star because my furnace is working. I took away 4 stars because I was gouged harder than a kebab. Dinner and a movie first?

Do not let these Fagans, these Olympic-level charlatans, these straight-up thieves into your home, and save that hard-earned coin for single malt restorative amber. Good grief Charlie Brown, these guys are without principles, in my opinion.

Merry Christmas earthlings.

This place is quite the ripoff for a basic rooter work they wanted over 800 dollars and that was discounted. Standard price was over 900. They wanted charge me over 400 to remove and put back a toilet like I know how to do that takes 10 min to do.Definitely not paying that. Charged me 30 bucks to come out and give me a estimate. Wouldn't just give me a price over the phone even though I know what needed to be done. I guess they just go around collecting 30 dollars. I ended up going with another company charged me 160 for the same work.

I agree with previous reviews about price gouging by Applewood. I experienced this with a water heater replacement quote ($6000????) and $2500 to remove and install a kitchen sink and reconfigure the under sink drain. I got it done in 2 hours by Southside Plumbing for $550. Avoid Applewood! You shouldn't have to pay for all of their advertising.

Beware!! Extremely overpriced and I'm not even impressed with their work. We needed 2 new water heaters installed with new piping as well. We paid $13,500 for this which is unconscionable. They left a gash in the door to the water heater room as well as a large stain on the carpet. Debris from the installation is also all over the carpet. I'm literally confused by the whole thing. It is our fault to let them do the work for that much but I was expecting perfection in all areas to at least warrant that amount. My advice is stay very far away from this company.

I was very unimpressed by Applewood. The two technicians came in and glanced at the unit, then spent 30 minutes outside (probably googling it) then came back in and asked for $1400 before even taking off the lid. I declined to have them service the unit at that price.

My wife called afterwards and talked to Applewood phone people told them of our issue, and they promised a 30$ refund for coming out.

We had a leaky toilet tank and I was too lazy to fix it myself so I called Applewood to come take a look because I wasn't sure if we needed to reset the toilet.

I wasn't home so he diagnosed the problem correctly and the toilet tank needed a new gasket and new bolts. Maybe $15 in parts from home depot. The plumber was their for about a 1/2 hour. He put a quote together for my wife $367!!!!! She didn't know how much it should cost so she said okay. Wow I could have bought 2 new toilets for that price.

The work was good but the costs are outrageous and he kept suggesting she get other work do. Clearly their plumbers are getting paid commissions for their work.

Don't use applewood. Hire a plumber that will do the work for a reasonable price!!!!!

These guys are good. The quality of repair is always excellent. But I'm done. The attempts at up-charges are just regrettable. Last summer, tried to get me to do a $1000 toilet install when a $225 rebuild works just fine. AND they almost never arrive within the estimated arrival window. The arrival quote is just to get you on the schedule. Now your hooked.
Most recently, a call at the end of the arrival window pushing the new arrival time back 4 hours. I'm waiting for the repair for 6 hours.

I've used this service several times. They are very friendly and offer fast service, especially if you pay to be one of their 'premium' members. But they are way, way overpriced. I had them out several times to service my furnace over the past two years. It's 19 years old, so I knew it needed more than regular maintenance. Three months ago, they fixed it to the tune of $600. They also gave me a quote of roughly $9,000 for a new furnace. Well, I was having problems with it again, so I called another service because I wanted another quote for a replacement. Not only did this other service inform me as soon as they looked at it was that my problems were being caused because there was a recall of this model years ago (it's a Carrier brand - but they showed me the info on the internet based on the model number), but they installed a new furnace for $4,600. Basically half of what Applewood was quoting me. And of all the Applewood techs I've had look at it, none of them ever indicated there was a recall of this model. I have a feeling they probably didn't know. Anyway, the difference to replace wasn't a couple hundred dollars. It was thousands.

If I could give zero stars I would. I previously used Applewood for electrical issues and had no problem. However, this time my estimate for installing a single outdoor light (that today another company did in about an hour) was $930! The technician didn't bother to ask is I had basement access, he just wanted to cut out drywall and leave me with that repair also. My original appointment which I waited 10 days for was mis-booked. I was re-booked and then they no showed. He finally arrived 2 hours late for the third appointment the following day, spent 5 minutes and then gave us the outrageous estimate.I was told on the phone that they would ""discount"" my estimate fee of $69 by $35 because of the scheduling snafus but the technician said that would only apply if I hired them for the job. He also tried to give us all the reasons another company would not be able to do the job. What a racket. Found out they work on commission. There are too many other options then to pay for Applewood's advertising budget, fancy orange trucks and overpaid technicians.
