I could not recommend Apple Air Conditioning. I have been a customer for over 25 years and I needed a letter for my insurance company to replace a central air unit. The customer service representatives are not helpful and even though the owner came to my house to do the assessment, I still do not have the information that I need for my insurance company and it is over 2 weeks. I guess they do not value a loyal customer.

I can't see one of these trucks around without cringing.

We called Apple to service our AC unit and give a quote on replacing it. When the tech got here and slipped on booties over his shoes i was like THIS IS THE COMPANY FOR ME. He serviced our unit and gave us a quote for a new one. It was kind of high (5,900 more than every other quote we got but hey, playas gonna play)

Fast forward two weeks. It starts to get hot. I'm 7 months pregnant with a giant baby. We go and turn on the AC and it's blowing hot air. Weird, since a few weeks earlier the tech said it was working just fine.

I call Apple. I tell them what's going on and ask them to come back. I also assume since it WAS fine until they touched it the service call itself would be comped and any additional repairs we would pay. The woman on the phone (took me four times of messages to get someone to speak to) let me know that if i wanted someone to come for free, it would take two weeks. If i wanted to pay again, they'd be there in an hour.

I kindly told her to take a walk. We called another company who can appreciate how uncomfortable a pregnant woman is in the blazing heat. They came and saw the line for the Freon was moved and all our Freon leaked out (1200$). They also fixed some water plate that was put on a wrong angle after cleaning and leaking all over my attic. They gave me a quote to replace that was, again, not even close to what these people charged. They even came and serviced our unit while we waited for the install.

Get a coupon in the mail from them, $99 special, expires end of May. Call them up to use it, the next appointment they have is end of June. They say coupon can't be used because service won't be complete by coupon expiration date; and price of service would be double. Apparently that's what type of company this is.

The top tech came and told us that the filters we were using with the wrong kind even though they were the ones recommended by the company that I had for a long time been maintaining our air condition. When I consulted another company that also did in conditioning about it they said the information I was given was wrong and that fiberglass was not a good alternative to the pleated filters. And it does not help remove pollutants. In addition the tech started playing around with our oil burner, because they do heating as well and he told us about a water pipe leak which was helpful, (it was tightened as is fine now.)
He seemed to have shut off the oil burner switch, as he said to me you don't need the heat now. It was arrogant and it was as if he was saying you are just a silly woman and I know better. But I did actually that night I was freezing and I couldn't understand when we had no heat and I had to call the oil burner fuel company and ask them to come here because something was wrong and it turns out the oil burner switch was off. Did he do it? He said I didn't need it and he was switching something off but I didn't understand him I thought he was shutting off the humidifier for the oil burner. He did not ask for permission. We had to pay him a lot of money for him to come and do that diagnosis whereas we called another company that did central air and they didn't charge anything to diagnose it. Then we were promised we were getting both the estimate and the contract in writing sent to us by email, both my friend and myself, and they never sent it. My friend asked for it again and again never sent it. I called today to ask them whatever happened why didn't they send it, and we had repeated the email addresses to them there was no problem with that they got them correct --they just didn't send it. I called twice today. They do not never answer the phone. I also realized that perhaps they were discriminatory against gay couples. It's really ironic because my friend and I do not sleep together and it's not a sexual relationship. It is just a love that we have for each other, family to each other, and yet we are judged by bigoted service workers? We are the ones putting the big bills! Now we're going to go with another company and we are buying a new central air unit with them. Apple is losing out on that big purchase. I do wonder if they are discriminating against customers and if some of those other people who have complained or Black or perceived gay. We both have excellent credit ratings and we always pay our bills on time. They should be investigated for discrimination against customers.

I would give zero stars if I could!!! I called in apple because my gas heater stopped working. They tell me they need to order an igniter and then it becomes they can't order part till 3 days from now. I'm left with no hot water or heat for who knows how many days. Imagine if this was winter!
They never answer the phone and I get a recording saying it's after hours on a Saturday afternoon???? Now I check my heater and it's leaking water!!!
Then they stated they would take money off a service contract for us for spending $$$$, never call us back, and then try and say the contract is $900 a year.

This company is a bunch of crooks who don't even want to work past 5pm and steal all your money.

Do not bother with this company. They come when they want despite a designated window of time to service a unit. They were supposed to come between 2:00 and 5:00 PM. It is now 6:53 PM and not a call from anyone.

Go elsewhere if you want good and reliable service. ANYbody would be better than this company.

Had gotten three quotes for a Central Air and Split Ductless installation. Apple was not the cheapest nor were they most expensive. What won us over was the thoughtfulness and questions they asked about what our needed. Their work was very clean and top notch. We've taken a star off as they took up the floor space of the attic instead of trying up the Central runs to the rafters. They knew we used the attic for storage and cleaned it for them temporarily. Something to point to them should you do the same, I'm sure they will accommodate. Highly recommend.

I had high hopes for this company based on the reviews on Google. Not sure where all these positive reviews come from now that I experienced it. I got an unprofessional/unpleasant salesman who tried to get me to do a total system conversion, spending tons of unnecessary money. Little did he know, I have inquired other HVAC company opinions, including one from an owner of a company. As soon as I hear the upsell, I toned him out and was just curious how much money this guy is trying to swindle me.
Do not proceed with this place, they are out to rip you off and do not have your best interest.

Update: Read Google 1 star reviews, apparently they paid people to write good reviews. Very unethical company.
