Apollo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning - OR
Company Overview
As a family-owned and operated plumbing service, Apollo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning offers a wide range of plumbing solutions. Since 1984, we have proudly served the Portland and Vancouver regions! We offer emergency plumbing services around the clock for your convenience.
Starting with an old van and a dream, Scott and Jody Bird launched Apollo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, formerly Apollo Drain and Rooter Service! While Jody oversaw the office and accounting, Scott focused on plumbing tasks. Scott's pricing was straightforward: a flat fee of $26.50, irrespective of the job's complexity or time required. Scott's motto has always been, and still is, ""Big enough to complete the task, small enough to provide personal care."" Thanks to relentless effort and the backing of his three sons, Apollo has transformed into its current form and will endure for many more years ahead!
Scott Bird spent his early years in the Tri Cities, working on a farm with his father until he reached 19. After high school, he opted to serve a two-year mission for his church in Germany. Upon his return, he went to Ricks College, now BYUI, where he met his sweetheart Jody, and they got married in 1983.

Recommended Customer Reviews

As a Realtor, Apollo Drain & Rooter is the first call we make when setting up inspections for our buyers who are under contract on a property.
Apollo does a great job scheduling and communicating with both me as the realtor and my clients. Their customer service and follow up are on point. Plus, their CIPP is a wonderful product that has saved our clients a lot of $$$

Horrible customer service. The owner must not care how his business is being run. Many other companies to choose from that want the business. DONT call Apollo

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. We were given a quote, and paid half prior to work. The boys came, appeared to be doing a good job. Then the main guy said they needed to"" raise"" the drain pipe, cut into the foundation and add concrete. He said probably would be a couple of hundred more. We gave approval. They emailed us a invoice. It had NO amount on it! We called, no call back. When our bank statement came,, there was the second half of payment due taken out And another $2,000 taken out!!!!! And in Dec!! No one told us! No one called or emailed us a final bill!! Other checks bounced as it was Xmas and we were told $200, NOT $2000!! Called, spoke to a representative and explained that is Poor customer service. She said she would have the Supervisor call us. Well, 7 months later,,,,no they never called and we are still cleaning up the bad credit they gave us!!!!

We had a plumbing issue over the 4th of July and lost hot water to our house. I called Apollo Plumbing and they scheduled service for the next day. Over the phone they told me their hourly rates and then gave me a window for when I could expect the plumber to arrive. About 15 minutes before our technician's arrival Apollo sent me a text with a photo of our plumber saying he was on his way. (He had already called and said he was less than 30 minutes away.) We were so impressed with Rocky's professionalism and efficiency in fixing our problem. He was courteous, polite, and technically excellent.
We highly recommend Apollo.

2 days after they were actually scheduled to arrive, Apollo did a sewer scope on our home for a pre-purchase inspection. The technician found what he called a ""minor belly in the line (~1/2 in. water in a 5-7 ft section of a 45 ft lateral) that probably happened during original construction"" 17 years ago... We've never had an issue with our sewer- this was a pre- purchase inspection. His report stated that there was a belly in the line and he was referring the project to the ""excavation"" department - we were told that the company ""always recommends bellies be fixed"" so they don't lead to more problems. Mind you- problems arise with bellies when they are significant enough to accumulate sediments - our line was clean with no sediment and no existing issues in performance. The project was referred to excavation- and a fix recommended to the prospective buyers for $20,000... to fix a 5-7 ft section of pipe 5 feet below the ground that wasn't causing a problem. We got 2 more professional opinions- both of which said that it was a minor belly within the allowable deflection according to most pipe manufacturers, and that the pipe is clean with no sediment- and it does not need to be fixed. And they put it in writing for us. But too late. The buyers got scared off and won't come back. Beware of their opinion and get a second one - it might save you 10s of thousands of dollars- or cost you 100s of thousands, as it did us.

Waiting on this company to return calls - will update review based on final work done...

Hired Apollo to hydro jet a sewer line & do a sewer scope . Almost $400 later we were told the line needed spot repairs and the sewer line failed to pass inspection. We hired Apex to come out and provide a 2nd opinion. Apex provided a sewer scope video that revealed an EXCESSIVE amount of egg shells in the line that made the line appear to be worse than it was. The technican from Apex said ""I can't believe this line was just jetted"" . He passed the line and did not recommend any repairs. I sent the sewer scope video to Apollo & after several messages and calls, they finally got back to me and refused to refund the money. They had little concern for the issue. Awful experience, not only for the quality of work but also the customer service . Would not recommend or use again!

I had an appointment for an estimate that was a four hour window (10 - 2). 20 minutes before the 4 hours was up I called and was told the plumber would be 10-20 minutes. I get a call back a few minutes later saying the plumber had to run back to a previous job and would be longer then previously stated. 30 minutes or so later I get a call from the plumber - I should be there in 15 minutes. Finally meet with the guy and was told I would receive a bid later that day. Still haven't received a bid. Huge waste of time. Read the other reviews, I'm not the only one.

Apollo Drain has helped me out a number of times at the properties I manage. They have been prompt, courteous and have gone the extra mile to make sure things were done right and kept within budget. I'd like to specifically thank Austin for his attention to detail and assistance!

I posted a negative review and would like to modify it. The owner Scott called me the afternoon of the missed appointment to apologize and explain the problem. He offer to make good on the work and so the tech showed up on time , was polite and efficient with the job. Also did a bit more than required and did not charge me extra. Thanks for making daily life easier.
