Apollo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning - OR
Company Overview
Apollo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning is a comprehensive plumbing service that is family-owned and operated. Since 1984, we have proudly served the Portland and Vancouver regions! For your peace of mind, we provide 24/7 emergency plumbing services.
Starting with an old van and a dream, Scott and Jody Bird launched Apollo Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning, formerly Apollo Drain and Rooter Service! Jody managed the office and handled accounting while Scott took on the plumbing work. For every job, Scott maintained a flat fee of only $26.50, no matter how challenging or lengthy the task was. His mission has always been, and continues to be, ""Big enough to get the job done, small enough to show you we care."" With dedication and the assistance of his three sons, Apollo has grown into its present state and is set to be around for many more years!
Scott Bird was raised in the Tri Cities and worked on a farm with his father until he turned 19. Upon graduating, he decided to undertake a two-year mission for his church in Germany. Upon his return, he went to Ricks College, now BYUI, where he met his sweetheart Jody, and they got married in 1983.

Paolo H.Victor Espinoza and his install team did an amazing job installing a new furnace and AC unit on our house in one day! Victor even stayed late to troubleshoot an issue with a shorted out control wire to make sure everything was running well so we had AC during 90+ degree heat wave.
Good people. Very informative and patient with providing quote on A/C unit installation.
Would recommend APOLLO PLUMBING, HEATING without hesitation.
First, the initial appointment the plumber never showed up. After waiting during the 4 hour window, I called and they apologized and scheduled it for the following day. The following day the plumber came with 15 minutes remaining int he 4 hour window. I showed him the 2 faucets and the kitchen pipe that needed replacement due to the home inspection and what the buyer requested. The plumber from apollo typed things into his tablet and told me it would be $1550 for the 3 items. I asked how long it would take and he said about 2 hours. so basically wanted to charge me $775 an hour? When I asked why so high, he goes that's what the system is telling me it's going to take. What a BS!
I called a different plumbing company and they did all of the items for less than $400. I have used plenty of plumbing companies home as I have flipped some homes but this by far is the biggest scam. I can't even imagine what they do to elderly folks. Someone needs to look into their business practices.
Another great service experience from Apollo. Their entire service process from scheduling an appointment to after service documentation is outstanding. Their service technicians are professional and courteous. A special shoutout to Brandon C.
Update from previous review, there were technical difficulties in getting our service work completed in that a piece of equipment they used had broken on a previous job. They knew we were upset, and did not want to wait the time for the parts to come in from Europe. They borrowed (hired as a sub-contractor) another company to get access to the equipment needed to complete our plumbing job, which they did, working from 7:00AM to nearly 7:00PM to get it finished. My drains are now flowing.
Scheduled an estimate and they never showed up, no call, nothing.
How do you trust they'll even show up to do the work if it's like that from the get go?
Tina B.Jonathan's very thorough, but needs to come back as he can't remove a panel. Leak hasn't been repaired, but there is a plan to get it repaired, which was explained thoroughly.
On March 8 we discovered a leak in our powder room. Because there was water pooled around the toilet, we initially thought that was the source of the leak so we turned off the shut-off valve. However, we could still hear water and discovered water dripping out under the sink so we turned off the shut-off valve under the sink as well. There was so much water that the cabinet had soaked up water and continued to drip for several hours, our hardwood floors had buckled, and there was water in the crawlspace. We had no idea what kind of damage we would be looking at and wondered if we would have to remove portions of the floor, sub-floor, or the walls. Since we were having a plumber come out to repair that leak, my husband decided to have him replace the toilet fill valves in all of our toilets (3) while he was there, assuming that that would be a quick job for a plumber. The total bid seemed high, but there was no breakdown of the costs and we thought the powder room repair could be quite extensive so we agreed to do the work. As it turned out, that repair was just a shut-off valve. It wasn't until I called (after the work was completed and paid for) to inquire about the Senior Discount that I was sent a breakdown of the costs. I was appalled to see that we paid $935.97 to replace three toilet fill valves. I find this amount unconscionable. There is no way that we would have had this work done if we had known the amount that would be charged. I also question whether all of the shut-off valves needed to be replaced (an additional $872.61). We obviously had a leak under the powder room sink, and a toilet upstairs. Unfortunately, my husband told Jonathan that all of the toilets were 'leaking'; what he meant was that the toilets were 'running' and was referring to the fill-valves, not the shut-off valves. I feel that an ethical plumber would see that the shut-off valves were fine, and would tell us that they didn't need to be replaced. The reason for the low rating I am giving is because of the complete lack of transparency in the pricing (we were told they just give a bid for the total amount, they don't give breakdowns) and the ethics involved in potentially repairing something that didn't need to be repaired.
Linda N.First off, they answered the phone when I called...My air conditioner stopped working during the hottest week of the year so far...At first I couldn't get an appointment for almost two weeks, but there was a cancellation and they reached out to offer it to me. Brandon was on time, friendly, and figured out the issue in a matter of minutes. He explained the issue in detail and quoted the cost of the repair before fixing it. I'm very happy with the service and my air conditioner works great now!
Ken R.These guys were phenomenal. We've had service for both our tankless waterheater and our split duct HVAC system in Beaverton (which was great!) but also just had them over to our place in Welches to help install an exterior spigot and take care of some other upgrades to help with winterization of our cabin. Chris and Brendan showed up right on time at the beginning of the window they gave me, were incredibly friendly and got the job done fast. Very impressed and am so happy we found this company. Highly recommended!
