We commend the electrical serviceman (Frank) for his positive attitude and workmanship. We had a ceiling fan installed and a GFCI cover replaced. While the fan installation charges seemed reasonable, the outlet cover charge was a whopping $209 for a $10 cover plus 10 minutes labor. The technician stated that he had to drive to Saint Bernard for the part (a distance of 12 miles travel time) rather than go to the local hardware at 1/2 mile or the Menards at 1 1/2 miles. Apollo also charges a $79 trip charge each visit unless you belong to their monthly membership then you pay $60.
The technician way overcharged for the cover (with a smile on his face) and the gas and travel is an add-on to pad the bill (we cannot be sure if that waived because of the total bill). We live 19 minutes from Apollo.
i had home plan for last 2 years and I have used their services in the past. they have always responded on time and have offered professional services. however recent experience was frustrating and not what i would have expected. had called for plumbing service to fit a 30 dollar bidet to the toilet. it was self installation kit but when i tried there was a leak and i didnt have the correct size wrench and probably didnt put the washer in the right place. they came on time - same day so always appreciate that quick response. However, gave me an estimate for 350 dollars. had misinformation that they would have to uninstall the bidet and reinstall it, since i had already removed it myself. Also factored in a pipe or something which was not required. spoke with manager who gave 50 dollars discount. then started working on it and said that they need to replace a valve which would be another 450 dollars. seriously? spoke with manager again who said they would only charge 150 for it. the boys left to get the valve which i am sure must be 10 dollars piece. anyways, they did the job well but significantly more expensive than what i would have expected. I would not recommend the home plan or their services. I have already called to cancel home plan. They are professional and I have not had issues with their quality of work or price in the past but just one bad incident
They always want to sell me expensive projects that that I don't need when they do their free inspections. Stsyvawsy from them cause they are not trustworthy.
This company overcharged me and many other people I talk to about their service say the same thing. Other companies that I have used since my fiasco say they get the same sad news from clients that they have helped.
They no showed. I fired them. I don't have time for people that no show. Professionalism is my number one thing. If you don't act professionally in the course of doing business, I don't trust you. It's that simple. No second chances.
Nanette B.We had a very positive experience with Apollo Home. Sadly, a home inspection found major issues with our sewer line. Apollo Home was very responsive, checking our line, sharing the video results with us and telling us what options we had. We chose them to place thread a durable liner through our line to block the roots from mature trees in our yard that could cause major flooding in our basement. Apollo Home arrived on time, understood our concerns about our cats getting out, made sure they couldn't and when their work revealed a major fix they would need to do above and beyond what they had figured needed done, they honored our original estimate. They employ a fantastic contractor, too, who did all the stuff beyond the plumbing that needed doing and he did it expertly. The entire team was neat, polite and did a great job.
I felt sorry for their saleman when I signed up for their annual subscription for AC & Heat services. Told him explicitly to inform me before renewing the subscription. Their techs came to tune up furnace first and then AC. Seeing that we are busy, they aggressively sell stuff. First the AC was tuned up within a few weeks. Then after a few months, another tech worked on our 5 year old furnace, he replaced an old humidifier and modified the ducting. After a year, their tech came to tune up our 4 year old AC. I told him to leave after doing his job and NOT to sell anything. However, he said the capacitor is dying and needs replacement. I decided to cancel this subscription due to their aggressive selling tactics. Their office first refused and said subscription is renewed. When I cancelled, they said they will charge the full price for the recent visit to tune up my AC and charged $130 approx. Coupons were not applicable!!! This company has some shady business tactics. Cannot trust them!
Sheela B.I had them come out for a few different projects (electrical, plumbing, and HVAC). The staff shows up on a time and is able to schedule appointments very promptly but the prices are extraordinary and the professionalism is questionable. I've been told the service guys work on a commission so depending on who comes out to your place you might be upsold or convinced to buy something you don't need. I spent $500 getting outlets replaced, $3K to get a sink hooked up after a kitchen remodel, and purchased the VIP service plan which includes HVAC and plumbing inspection. During the last visit for a 'plumbing inspection' I was told my hot water heater needed to be replaced which was suspicious considering I had just taken a shower and had not had any issues. I got a second opinion from Jolly Plumbing who confirmed it didn't need to be replaced and has been working fine for over a year now. If you are in a pinch and money is no object I would use this company otherwise I'd steer clear of them completely.
Jessica I.Called to have a drain cleaned and find out im labeled as a ""hostile"" client because last time they came to clean a drain they looked at me and said, "" I'm not cleaning THIS drain""... wow! Now I remember why I never call this company.
In response to the company reply (dated Sept 28, 2021)... Apollo continues to lie, now not just to customers but to readers. ""Joni C."" claimed, in the company review, that someone from Apollo reached out to me. That is a flat out lie. No one from Apollo ever reached out to me. I'm not sure why Apollo continues to think that lying is okay.
Additionally, ""Joni C."" made no effort what-so-ever to address why Andrea would lie to me about the delays (blaming the county when it was actually her own incompetence), or why Mike Knudsen would say he was looking into it, but did nothing. This shows that Apollo does not care about their customers.
Beyond that, ""Joni C."" seems to think things ""worked out in the end."" Due to Apollo's incompetence, my project was delayed over four weeks, costing me money. And the only way my project got completed was ME stepping up to do Andrea's job because she couldn't figure out how to do it. I wouldn't say things ""worked out."" I should be charging Apollo for my time/labor.
Bottom line is, no matter what lies Apollo tries to post in response to this review, Apollo's incompetence will delay your project and cost you money. They won't care about it and they will lie to you. Then, when you catch them in the lie, instead of taking accountability and making any effort to correct the matter, they will lie again in their reply to your review.
My advice: Just avoid Apollo. You worked hard for your money. Don't waste it on a company that doesn't care about you or your project.
