They charged me for services they have Not done. When I asked for refund nothing but a run around. Dave is an ass. Will never use them again and don't recommend anyone else do so either.
Erin F.Apollo home gave us a quote for jet blasting three pipes for four hours. First, they forgot about our appointment, showed up late, only spent an hour, and then only jet blasted two pipes with zero results and no solution. They proceeded to ignore my calls all week, despite multiple people promising to return my call. This is the worst customer service I've ever experienced in Cincinnati. Also, the first person to come and give an assessment and quote for the work was disingenuous in recommending the jet blasting; the servicemen who came to do the work said multiple times, ""yeah, this isn't going to work"", and ""nothing came out of your kitchen pipe"", so the recommended work wasn't necessary or advisable. Don't trust this company.
NEVER EVER USE APOLLO. Their markup for parts and service is INSANE and they basically hold you hostage to make a decision in a desperate situation. I needed a new capacitor for my AC and Duke Energy said it would only cost about $100 to replace (and they were right per my part research online).
Apollo charged me $450+ apparently WITH a 15% discount to sign up for their crap service plan. No other company could come out and I needed it fixed before I left on a trip for 2 weeks so that my animals would be okay. When I called to cancel, they wanted me to pay them back the $70 that the discount apparently got me...for something that should have cost $100 in the first place...
Apollo responds quickly to your service requests which makes them appealing but don't fall for it. They will overcharge you at least quadruple the amount that a service should cost. Total scam.
Kierstin G.Scammed us and left a mess. Had them replace 2 outlets. Both stopped working after they left. Called them and they came back out (said it would be covered by warranty, no extra cost). When they arrived though they told us it wasn't covered and had 2 replace 2 more outlets in order to get the first 2 outlets they broke to work. Installation was sloppy (crooked) and they left trash everywhere they went. My toddler could have easily got ahold of these small pieces if I hadn't found them first. Any other company would be better and cheaper.
Daniel K.Where to begin, where to begin? We have used Apollo in the past and have positive experiences. They are always prompt, professional and amicable. We were having issues with our water backing up into the house - so, we called for Apollo to have them clear the drain. What began as a simple clearing of the drain turned into a plumbing nightmare.
Each step of the way to the eventual conclusion of our experience was made exponentially worse by their inability to clear the drain. After destroying our flower beds and yard they were still unable to fix the problem. After a discussion with one of the managers they offered to refund the portion of the service. The final bill was over $5000. In order to receive the overpayment, I was forced to sign a release. They recommended I seek out another plumber.
We called a plumber who lives in our neighborhood and he came out to have a look - they were able to locate the problem and clear the pipe - they felt so bad for our experience they took $100 off their fee. Total cost $300.
If the Apollo work crew had simply looked at the pipe that was leading out of the house they would have seen the blockage. Instead, they merely replaced the pipe they broke, while excavating our yard, and didn't move the soil back that had been removed. They did send someone out eventually to move the soil back into place. I want to go on the record saying - not once in this entire experience did I raise my voice or cuss anyone out - we started out with a small problem that could have been fixed if the Apollo team had been more determined to solve the problem as cost effectively as possible. It appeared to me that our credit line drove the service they were going to provide.
The only redeeming quality of this entire experience was the Jamaican gentleman who never stopped working and went the extra mile to make us feel better about this debacle. I'd rather have a wisdom tooth removed without the benefit of anesthesia than use this group to fix a drain.
My AC stopped working on Wednesday. I had Apollo take a look and they were extremely adamant that the best course of action would be to replace the unit because it was improperly installed, had a leak and it would be more economical to just replace it versus repairing it. They recommended replacing the furnace as well for a total of 10-12k. I was near tears! I was also skeptical because the unit was only seven years old. So I got on yelp and Apollo had a 2 star rating. United heating and plumbing had a 5 star rating so I called him for a second opinion. Matt was amazing, ethical, caring and helped me to diagnose the issue and got my AC working over the phone! I had him service the unit just in case and he was wonderful. My total bill was $208! When I called he immediately listed off issues it could be and suggested that some companies use a scare/savior approach. He said they give you worst case scenarios and then save you by saying they can replace the unit the next day. That is exactly what happened!! He suggested maintaining the unit with small repairs and making it last as long as possible before spending the money to replace it. I would highly recommend him if anyone has any issues. I am appalled during these times that Apollo would put me at such a financial risk all for greed. I feel like I had a red bulls eye on my forehead because I was a women. With all the issues I've had with subpar contractors it was so refreshing to have someone actually care about what he does and his customers. I feel like I won the lottery! Whew
Last week we had Apollo come out to fix a capacitor on our AC unit. Which we knew how much this cost due to family member in the business. This part, at most cost them $75. We were charged for the part alone 509.61. That did not include labor which was 60 for an hour when the service tech was here for 45 minutes. They were so kind to wave our trip fee (sense sarcasm). When I asked for an itemized statement they sent me a statement with a lump sum break down. When I called to question my bill and what I was charged. Kendall in the resolutions department told me that $509.61 included the quality and company reputation, she mentioned nothing about more labor or what would qualify as ""work"". My response was not pleasant and I broke down what I thought was a reasonable price. Which was around $300 ($100 for trip fee, $100 for part and $100 for labor) leaving them still making plenty of money. I asked if they would refund me $200. She said she would talk with her owner and get back with me. Kendall called back today saying they would meet me half way and refund me a $100. How can a company ethically and morally charge someone almost 500% of what a part cost in a middle of a pandemic on top of it?!?!
Do not trust their Facebook or website reviews which they can control what gets published. No company would publish bad experiences.
Come on guys sell maintenance plans and dont come do maintenance as paid for what a joke. As soon as my contract up so are you.
Kara J.We wanted to make sure that are AC was ok since there was condensation around the furnace. We scheduled for Tuesday, they rescheduled for Wednesday. We are selling our home so we had a certain window available that we did not have any showings which we told them. They notified us that they were on their way near the end of the arrival window when it was too close to a showing. Thursday we got an assessment that they could not find the Leak or would not find it and that we needed replace the A/C and furnace. The guy wanted one hour of my time while I am working at home and on a video conference. He did not respect my time until finally I excused myself to return to my home office. He got the info he needed and wanted to talk on a conference call later with my husband. The call happened with him basically trying to shame us into buying a new unit for the future buyers. He said that he would not replace the evaporator coil. After finding another company, they did a leak test and confirmed that replacing the coil was the best. We will never use Apollo again.
I requested a quote from Apollo Home to install a toilet seat-attached bidet. I pay a monthly fee to be a ""member"" and get a 15% discounted price on services. Apollo quoted $650. I went online to Home Advisor, who quoted $134! Had the Home Advisor contractor here today. He did a great job and finished in about 1.5 hours. At Apollo's quoted price, they would have charged $433 per hour for the same service.that I got from Home Advisor for less than $90 per hour, making Apollo's quoted price (WITH MY 15% DISCOUNT) almost 5 times that of Home Advisor! I saved over $500 with great service and clean installation from Home Advisor.
