1/13/25: Apollo has agreed to refund the money I paid for a job that wasn't done. Thank you, Apollo!
Furnace and water heater installed in 2017 and AC in 2023. In 2024, Apollo (Ben R.) came to clean and check the system is working properly. Ben was very knowledgeable and professional. He gave me pointers on how to maintain my system so I can enjoy worry-free heating and cooling. I seek good value and service for a fair price and Apollo delivered for me. Ben took the time to answer my questions and show me what he was doing and why. Apollo is working to improve their service and deserves a second look if you were disappointed in the past.
Melissa M.Our heater wasn't working well last winter so we called them up and had them take a look. They pressured us into buying a brand new heater when it wasn't necessary. No other options given. It was installed incorrectly and three different techs had to come fix it. I still don't trust that it's installed correctly. We were desperate for heat, and I think they knew that.
I had Apollo out to do an inspection of my furnace. After 15 minutes ""Lucas"" (Apollo) tells me that I need parts. Shows me the parts and says these need to be replaced. The estimate was for $2,000.00! I did not agree to have the work done. 2 weeks later my furnace was not working. I called Lucas (Apollo) and told him that if I needed to put $2,000.00 into an 8 year old furnace I might as well buy a new one. In the meantime I called Air Mechanical (they were the company that installed the furnace with the previous owner of the home). They could come out the next day so I made the appointment. My son in law came over to help me in the meantime and we changed the thermostat and he did investigating online of what the issue could be. He took the air filter out of the furnace, turned it off and back on again. We had heat!!! Air Mechanical arrived and after I told him what happened with the furnace and how we got the furnace to run again with no air filter he immediately said the problem is probably your air filter. It was an allergy filter that is thick it would not let enough air flow through the filter and the furnace shut down. He then inspected the furnace and found NOTHING wrong with it. I did not tell him what Apollo said about the parts needing replacement. I then asked him about the parts I was told needed replacing. He said no there is nothing wrong with them! I did buy new filters and that appears to have fixed my issue.
If I was an owner of a company and someone called to say one of my employees told someone they needed $2,000.00 to fix their furnace and had another company out that told them they needed nothing replaced I would call that customer and find out what happened. Make it right somehow. At least apologize. Well, no call.
I have to start at the beginning now. I called Apollo last year for an air conditioning tune up. Well this person told me I needed a $600.00 part for my A/C. And oh if I buy the membership it would actually cost me less to fix it and the membership also included another A/C tune-up and furnace tune-up. Of course I went ahead and fixed the A/C but I never felt quite right about it. So I am wondering if this is what they do to everyone. The Tech knew that I fell for the A/C con and thought now he could get $2,000.00 out of me because of that?
When Lucas (Apollo) got back to me about the cost for a new furnace he told me $5800.00 but because I had the membership it would only be $5500.00. That was 500.00 OVER what 2 other companies told me the cost would be and that was without a membership! These people need to be put out of business. The techs are obviously making money when they sell people things they don't need.
My next call is to the Attorney General! Hopefully APOLLO will be shut down. I can't be the only person this has happened to. Read reviews!! BEWARE!!!
This morning we woke to no heat in our house. We called Apollo early in the morning and they sent out a technician to give us an estimate. We agreed to have them do the work. They had a crew out to our house by midafternoon. We have heat in the same day. Thank you Apollo and your team of service experts!!!
Majdi S.I can describe this business in one word: PREDATORY!! I have no doubt, their technicians know their stuff, but their best skill is selling you a complete system. That's how they make their money. Their repair estimates are a joke.
My central air was only low on R22 freon. It needed less than 2 lbs. They gave me a quote for $2122 to charge my system up to 4 lbs, and the guy tells me to blame the super high cost of freon on the government (that's over $500/lb). What a crook!! My furnace was fine but tried to sell me a complete AC & furnace for a whopping $17,000!!! If you see one of their coupon for tune ups, throw it away, and find another HVAC to fix your AC. I got my AC freon recharge for $120.
BEWARE, do not believe everything you read. After numerous screw-ups Apollo offered me credits if I gave a 5 star review. I have a 900 sq ft home with hot water heat. My boiler was working but gave me trouble ever so often. I am in my 70's and like to travel in the winter and needed a system that was completely dependable. Apollo's salesman promised I would never have to worry about leaving my home unattended again because their $19,000. system would be ""worry free"". Yeah right. I have had them out numerous times for 'no heat' service calls. If it is below zero (often in MN) the system will not heat to over the 60's. If I want 70 I must run my fireplace and space heaters. The system went out completely on Tuesday night and the house was mid 50's. I got it running again and called Apollo twice yesterday and they just got a call back today. Using this company was a big mistake and I will probably have to spend more to hire a lawyer just to get them to do what they contracted to do.
UPDATE: They answered that I should contact them. Really? I have contacted them numerous times. They were out last week when I once again had no heat and I wrote them on Friday to tell them I had no heat (2nd time in two days) and I have not heard from them since.
Mar 2022 Update: Have had the system 5 months. System is consistently down. Called 4 days ago to tell them I had no heat and was told 'they are all in a meeting tomorrow but I will have someone call you by the end of the week"" So now 4 days later and no call from Apollo. Was in the low 40's in my house last night and had to turn on my stove, electric burners and 2 space heaters to get 61 degrees. I called them and was told 'they're in a meeting'. Seems their meetings are more important than their customers. Finally after pleading to talk to a mgr. I have asked that they remove the system and return my money. Will probably end up in court.
I hired Apollo to seal up my ductwork to make it more efficient. The salesman set the appointment for 8 a.m. The morning of, I received a text stating the tech was on his way to my house (7:08 a. m.). At 8:20, no one has arrived. I text the number listed in the text, no response. I called the salesman who set the time. No answer, voicemail full; he then texts me stating they are on the way to my house. I said that's what the text said at 7:08, to which he replies they are automated. As if to say they don't matter. The tech did finally show up at 9. I had to cancel two appointments because of this. The next day I have no heat; I call Apollo and get attitude. A tech is dispatched, and he shows up having already done his homework. He talked to the tech from the day before and said that nothing he did could have caused this and that if he looked at our system, he would have to charge us. The money grab is on. My expectations have set the bar too high for the money I spent. You have shown that you think your time is worth more than mine. Thanks for the follow-through on a freezing morning, Apollo!
Stephanie M.Called them fir a $59 tune up and ended up with frozen pipes that almost destroyed my home
After s routine call for a low cost furnace inspection they discovered s cracked heat exchanger snd red ragged my furnace on a Friday. Which means shut it off
My friend was here snd grilled them on why. Unsafe due to s reading in excess of allowed limits of co2. But. The co2 was going up the chimney and nit into the house!!! I already had co2 monitors so knew I wasn't getting excess co2 in the house. End result was that they told me they would leave me two Space heaters if I bought a furnace from them. So since I wouldn't commit without checking prices I had no heat!!!
Once the temp went down overnight on the weekend in the house to 40 my water stopped running in s colder area. I turned on my electric stove to heat the house and bought two heaters. I got bids and used someone else fir a new furnace. So just beware that if you call up for this low cost check you could end up in s situation like mine
