Recommended Customer Reviews

I have used AP Plumbing for several jobs and they are always so easy to work with. They show up when they say they will and they do a fantastic job. Best plumbers in woodland.

AP saved the day! Woke up to leaking water main that was flowing down our street! After the city was called and our water was completely turned off, I called AP Plumbing for help! Nathan was out to inspect shortly after my call and within an hour, repair work to the main had begun! So, so, so thankful for their incredibly fast response time! They absolutely saved the day and my family truly appreciates it!!! Thank you AP!

AP Plumbing did a great job replacing 3 worn out water valves that had rusted solid after over 2 decades of neglect. Two were on the actual water main coming up from the ground where the City water supply comes into the house. The third was the cold water inlet to the water heater. Since my house has a built-in fire suppression system, they actually sent 2 plumbers; 1 fire certified and 1 regular plumber. I was thankful that they had a specialist who was certified to fix fire suppression systems, just in case there was an issue. This is one of the benefits of AP Plumbing - that they also handle fire systems.
Since there were 2 jobs, each plumber set out to tackle a job on their own. They worked outside (in the rain) and in my garage. They had to erect their own tarp to cover the water pipes while it was raining.
They replaced several inches of old copper pipe with new lines and ball valves. There were a lot of twists and turns and adapters to get the city supply to meet up with the house plumbing. They raised up the 2 ball valves (1 for house, 1 for fire system) by about a foot to keep them above the dirt level.
AP Plumbing was initially called regarding a Water Heater replacement and was about $200 cheaper than either Halls or Nichols Plumbing. But I decided to tackle the water heater job myself. So instead I hired them to fix the 3 rusted valves which prevented me from turning off the water to my house.
AP Plumbing bills you after the fact and I didn't sign a work order - something I was a little nervous about. Their plumbers apparently don't handle billing. The owner quoted about $650 over the phone $120 for water heater valve and $450 for water supply valve + parts. He made the quote over the phone without inspection or knowing what he was getting himself into. So that is the reason I don't really hold him to that quote..too much. I was worried for a few days that I might get a quote for $1,000 or more.
The final bill came to $750 - but considering that they had to custom fabricate copper lines (pipe, fittings, adapters, valves, etc) from the City water main and work in the rain and they took the job seriously enough to send 2 guys -- I feel I got my money's worth.
They offered to backfill the hole they dug, but since it was right next to some sprinkler valves that I need to fix -- they actually ended up digging up my sprinklers, so they kinda sorta helped me work on my sprinkler job. - so win-win!
So AP was:
Cheaper than other plumbers
Showed up within 10 mins
Tackled 2 jobs at once
Fire certified
Reasonably priced

Excellent service. Friendly and professional staff. They are also very knowledgable and helpful in getting repairs done. They will travel to Davis,Woodland, and Sacramento for the back flow testing.

If I could give this company zero stars I would. The owner of this company (Tony) is a complete jerk. He actually swore at us for asking questions about the job! And then he said he wouldn't do it the day of the job because we were asking questions that he had refused to answer (such as total cost and breakdown of quote?) We had been calling for days with no return call. He literally packed up the stuff and left us high and dry. TOTALLY CRAZY! I would stay as far away from this company as possible.

I'm a Realtor AP is one of the only one that shows up for Fire sprinkler repairs when needed to close escrow best price also. I now use them for plumbing also.

AP Plumbing did a beautiful job in my salon here in Davis. I have stand behind shampoo bowls which I thought was a challenge. Then when it came to the city inspections, we passed with flying colors. Toni is so easy to work with and professional and appreciate how hard him and his guys worked. I highly recommend his plumbing services.

Called and spoke to Jennifer. Requested an estimate for a check valve and sprinkeler replacement. She promised she would get back to us which she never did. Explained to her that time was of the essence. Never reached out to me so we went with another plumber. In my opinion AP Plumbing is very unreliable.

We had gotten the recommendation from a friend. We needed a whole house filtration system installed by a licensed plumber so that the warranty isn't voided. My boyfriend has a decent amount of experience himself with many things related to home improvement. He informed them when he called initially what to expect - such as having to cut a hole in the wall to get to the right pipes and what system it was that we purchased. We both thought that it would be relatively straightforward and simple. That was our first mistake.
Nathan had quoted over the phone after John had informed him what the job was that it would be about $300-$400 - but it wasn't actually an estimate. He would have to charge us an hour of labor to send someone out just to give an estimate and that we should just schedule someone to come out to do the job because it would be cheaper in the end. Good job there cramming a sale down our throats, Nathan! Fine. They can't be that bad to work with since this was a company a good friend referred. So it was scheduled for a Monday at 1pm because John was available. The time came and went and NO ONE SHOWED UP. John called them the next day. There was some excuse given that scheduling got mixed up. Okay.... So it was rescheduled for the following Monday at 1pm. This time someone shows up but 8 AM! No warning or explanation as to why the plumber showed up at 8am. Now, this wouldn't usually bother me because I am up early. But John works late and gets to bed late and purposefully scheduled this job at 1PM so that he can get some much needed sleep. He hadn't been sleeping well but he wasn't upset. I was, though! Who does that?! Even the cable companies, as terrible as they are, give you a time frame that they will show up within! They don't just show up 4 hours early unannounced. John was gracious and let the guy in and had him start. However, the pipes weren't the right size. He had brought 3/4 inch and the system required 1 inch pipes. SO after waking John up from a dead sleep early and then discovering that he needed different pipes, the plumber left to go to the store to get the right pipes! Um... I am not a plumber but shouldn't the van/truck be reasonably stocked with various common sizes of piping just in case something like this happens? And why wasn't it known ahead of time since John did tell them the EXACT system we were having them install for us??? And John lived with a plumber years ago for a number of years who did just that - having a well stocked work truck! So after about an hour of the guy being at the store, the plumber installs the system over about 4-5 hours. Oh, and he was also surprised that there needed to be a hole cut out to access the pipes AFTER JOHN HAD ALREADY TOLD SOMEONE BEFORE HE SCHEDULED THE JOB that this needed to be done.
So after that debacle, I receive what was supposed to be the bill for $536. I say ""supposed to be"" because it was 2 lines - installed water conditioner @ [our address] 100% complete - total materials and total labor. No breakdown, no per hour charge for labor, no list of materials, NOTHING. Did they overcharge us? What was I supposed to think?! John called them and spoke to Nathan who was basically a total jerk to John. He told him, but not in so many words, that it is what it is and that there's nothing he could do. Um, no. Generally there IS something you could do and that is get someone higher up involved. He did not offer to do that.
So, a couple of days later I called and spoke with Tony, who I believe is the owner. He was perfectly fine to speak with. He seemed to be aware that John had already called to discuss the bill and spoke with one other person and then to Nathan again. I had also called a couple of other places for FREE estimates on the job that same day. I did discover that the $536 is reasonable for such a job. My problem with this company is NOT the quality of work that was actually done, NOR the price. IT WAS HOW WE WERE TREATED THROUGH IT ALL. Tony did offer to email me a full break down of what we were charged for and that I did receive. But no apologies were offered for how John was spoken to or for the lack of detail in the bill or for the scheduling mishap. It seems to break down to a serious lack of clear and consistent communication. There weren't any questions about why we seemed upset. Basically an overall ""we don't really care about you or your opinion of us"" attitude persisted. And this seems like a common negative from the other reviews I've read on here. I don't know exactly what the issues are over there but I do know a thing or two about running a small business and THIS is not the way to win over and keep customers! I can say with 100% confidence that we will NOT be requesting services from this company again and we will be telling our friends who recommended them to not do that anymore AND steer any of our friends, family, and neighbors to someone else!

Horrible customer service. The employee Nathan who identified himself as the manager was very rude and thoughtless over the phone. I will never call them for service again and neither will my friends or family.
