Anthony's Plumbing and Drain Cleaning

Anthony has done a number of small jobs for us (fixing various leaky faucets, installing a shut-off valve, replacing shower cartridge and fixtures). He and his team have also replaced a shower stall (plumbing, base pan, walls, tile, wooden ceiling, trim). For every job, Anthony has been responsive, communicative, and reliable. He came when he said he would and got each job done. We will call Anthony if future needs arise.

Anthony always answers the phone or calls right back. He came to the property, gave an estimate, started on the agreed date and ended on time. It is hard to get contractors to pick-up the phone in the Lake Placid area.

I can not recommend this contractor. After not being able to find anyone else in the area I came across Anthony. He was cordial and we discussed what needed to be done. Anthony was paid 50% up front and a timeline and scope was established, months later the work was still not complete. I was asked to make the complete payment under the assumption the job was complete - it was not. More time went by before I finally finished the job myself because tenants were arriving. Anthony told me he had more pressing matters as my property was vacant so it wasnt important to me - yet he took my money. Over time there started to be an extra charge here and there and it was quite noticeable. Anthony was then hired to dig a small trench from the road to the water connection. After weeks of organization and Anthony blaming dig safe, he still had failed to complete the job. What Anthony did manage to do was leave his large piece of equipment in my tenants yard for all this time. Anthony never checked in, and time elapsed. Here we are in August and today Anthony called me to again blame dig safe for his considerable delays. I simply could not stand getting jerked around anymore, particularly after an outrageous estimate was provided and he was upset when it was rejected. Additionally, Anthony was hired to go through the house and check the plumbing and make sure it was sound. Folks, this ""plumber"" didnt even check under the trailer to ensure there were no leaks around the drains. In fact, there were no leaks, the shower drain was completely detached. After considerable damage to the underside and the insulation I was forced to pay a competent contractor several thousand dollars to fix Anthony's convenient oversight - because guess who would have gotten called to fix that mess - yup him. I explained to Anthony after weeks of his machine being left at the property that he could go ahead and pick it up because his services were no longer required.

Via text message Anthony informed me that he wouldn't be returning my deposit without deducting pick up and drop off of his machine plus the labor of marking the lines out - this same guy told me it was going to cost several hundred dollars for a few hours of work of scoping the culvert he had to dig under, absolutely unreal. I will most likely have to legally handle this contractor because if I dont then he will just do this to the next person that lives out of town and trusts him with their work.

You make your own decision, but if you read my story and my experience I had with this contractor and you still hire him - then its on you, but dont say I didnt warn you.

For the record when he picked up his machine he trashed my yard as well. I have also just been informed that since I ""canceled"" the job he is not going to refund my money. How many weeks is someone supposed to wait for something to get done?

We experienced a mid-winter septic emergency in the Acres that no other plumber would touch with a ten-foot pole. Anthony assessed our situation promptly and, with great difficulty, was relentless in determining the source of the problem and resolving the root and resulting clog issues over the course of several days. Had he not persevered in correcting the issue in our line, my wife and I would have had no other recourse but to wait for spring in order to contract with an available plumber. Anthony's fee for his services was beyond reasonable, so we decided to pay him an additional amount that more accurately reflected his efforts on our behalf.

He came out in the freezing cold to fix our cracked pipe. He answered my phone calls, came out and assessed the issue and returned with the supplies to fix the pipe. Anthony offered solutions so the problem would not happen in the future. He didn't drag out the work to get paid more. Prompt, reliable, considerate. Give him a call. He is crazy busy so keep that in mind. He does work in the Jay, Au Sable, Wilmington areas as well as other towns. I found it difficult to find anyone that would travel to Jay.
