We serve homes across the whole KC metro area. Our goal is to focus on our homeowners first. Our history dates back to the year 1951 and Anthony D'Agostino. Tony along with his spouse, Mayme established Anthony Plumbing in 1951 in the foundation of their family home in Prairie Village. With growth, the business, so did the clan, welcoming five sons to the staff. Paul, the eldest began in the company like many others, helping his father. In the year 1999, Paul took over as the sole owner of Anthony Plumbing, Heating & Cooling. In 2007, he passed it on to Steve Burbridge (former owner of Neal Harris) and Cecil (former service manager of Neal Harris). Carrying on the tradition, Anthony Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, & Electric is still considered the top home service provider in the Kansas City Metro, expanding out to Lawrence, Kansas.
Steve gained a great deal about the HVAC and plumbing industry from his father, his father Ralph. Ralph ran Waldo Plumbing & Heating and then acquired Neal Harris Heating, AC & Plumbing in the year 1982 when it was a small operation with a couple of employees. Steve vowed to enhance the operation to new standards by providing exceptional client care with “Experts You Can Trust with Your Home.”

Very disappointing experience this morning with Anthony Heating & Cooling. Scheduled a technician to come to our home this morning tell us why water from one of our bathroom faucets was streaming week. Our home is 6 years old and the faucets are standard Delta faucets (nothing fancy). The technician went right to the faucet and tried to unscrew the aerator to see if it was clogged, but he said he could not unscrew it because he needed a aerator key to do it. He said he did not have one and suggested that I order one online. That's it! He said ""Ok, that will be $89"". Instead of arguing with him, I paid him the money and sent him on his way. I immediately called the Anthony Plumbing office and complained that the technician should have this aerator tool in his arsenal (considering that Delta faucets are not uncommon), but the lady I spoke with basically said that there was nothing she could do for me. $89 down the drain!!! I definitely would not recommend them!!!!
I have not used them since my last review. My update is they continue to frustrate me. I tried to change my furnace filter today and their ""custom made"" filter cover IS THE WORST. Every time I change the filter I struggle. It requires pliers, a hammer and gloves. Even their technicians say ""why was it done this way""? Now I have no filter covers as I had to pry them off.
Charlie B.EXPENSIVE! I advise you to get other quotes before committing to Anthony. I actually had a wonderful experience with the technician, but I ended up getting 4 quotes and Anthony was $1,000 over the next lowest! The phone ladies are super nice in that scripted customer service-type way. Don't make the mistake of blanketly telling them you'll be home on a given day; have them commit to a time window. I thought I'd be given a window for the technician and I was not, so of course I didn't hear from anyone until after 3 pm and he didn't come until 4 pm. It's 2019, can't we get better with logistics and scheduling on a given day? I would've been happy to use them, but can't justify their price to do so.
Yolanda A.I love this company! I have had no issue with same day appointments and the fees are reasonable. The technicians are professional yet very friendly. I've had work done on my basement floor drain, an old furnace replaced several years ago,the day BEFORE thanksgiving, and recently badly needed pipes replaced for the kitchen sink. The technicians check in frequency prior to the service call and ALWAYS identify themselves with photo I'd and a business card with their pic on it! I can't say enough positive things about Anthony's! Don't hesitate to give them a try!
I have a love/hate relationship with Anthony. Unfortunately, we have had many reasons to call HVAC/Plumbing companies over the last few years. Anytime we have decided to call Anthony (because we're currently ASAP members and they come out same day for emergencies), their techs are very knowledgeable and professional. Each time we call with an issue they will say something to the extent of ""We'll send a tech out as soon as possible. There will just be a $89 service charge plus the cost of repairs"". But beware, this is NOT accurate. I have yet for them to come out and only charge the service fee. Even if the repair identified can't or won't be done at that time, they will ALWAYS find something else to charge you for. The $89 is just to get them to your front door step and if that's clear in their communication it is one thing, but it is not. They lead you to believe $89 will be the service charge to identify the problem and then any costs after that will be the labor and parts to fix the issue. In an industry where many plumbing and HVAC companies will provide free estimates or apply the service charge to the repair being done, this is where Anthony really drops the balls in my opinion and causes me to question calling them. If it weren't for being ASAP members with the same day service (really the only benefit of this program), we would be looking elsewhere.
Homi M.I contacted Antony to look into my older Diplomat heating unit that wasn't working, they sent Chris to look at it, after 20 minutes he told me the part that is gone bad is a Model SP 745 that he said is no longer available and his company would charge $1200 to replace it. He offered to have his company sell me a new unit. I paid him his trip fee of $80+ and I thanked him, found the part for $90 and $27 shipping and had another gentleman who does HVAC repair install it, it wasn't the part that Chris had told me, and he had misdiagnosed it. I contacted Antony and mentioned the issue. I told him I already paid them, for the part and shipping and installation based on his wrong information they gave me. They apologized and said they will send someone to check the system today free of the trip charge and I said wow, great. Today they called me saying this visit will have another fee attached to it of $89. I now realized that they send someone over, who has no idea what he is doing or he just doesn't care, gives customer an outrageous $1200 part cost amount so the customer decides not to go ahead, instead buy a new unit from them and they collect driving fees. This is totally dishonest. dishonest way to sell new units under the umbrella of repairing your unit. I say do not use them if you do its at your own risk.

EDIT: I was contacted by their Customer Care department, which was appreciated. They explained to me that the previous owner did have an option for an extended warranty which would have covered labor longer than the standard 1 year. Additionally, I want to note that the tech that did the diagnosis and repair was very professional and helpful.
Original Review: Maybe this isn't an entirely fair review because I can't say whether all AC/Heat companies operate the same, but regardless, I wasn't impressed with my recent experience with this company. Flipped on the furnace the other day and it wasn't running. Previous owner had used Anthony for installation a few years ago so I had them out since it was still under warranty. The part was out of stock, so I had to pay an $89 visit charge (or whatever they called it) on the first day. Then when they returned 5 days later, despite the fix taking 20 minutes, the labor cost was an additional $375 (part was still under warranty). Seems absurdly high. Additionally (and, yes, I know this is just how it works) I don't understand why labor is not covered under warranty. As a company, you CHOSE the manufacturer you want to work with, so if their parts don't hold up, that reflects on YOU to. Anyway, it sucks to be out over $450 because a part stopped working on a relatively new unit.
Two years ago I used Anthony Plumbing to replace two shower faucets. Their plumber had to go purchase the faucets and the whole process took about three hours. They charged me $484. Even though I thought is was a bit high, the plumber did a very good job. Yesterday, our kitchen faucet started badly leaking, so I phoned Anthony. I asked them how much the job would cost. They said the plumber would inform me when he arrived and assessed the job. I was happy they could come the same day, but I was absolutely stunned that they were charging me $450 to install the faucet and I was supplying the faucet! It took the plumber less than an hour to do the job. Why was the job $450 for one hour and I supplied the parts when the last job was $484 for three hours and they supplied the faucets! Seems like highway robbery to me. I will not be using them again. The only reason I give them one star is owing to the fact that the plumber was a very likable young man who did a good job.
Great technicians and work. But way over priced. Two hours to replace an outside spigot $522.00 is hard to rationalize and way above the national average. And we've been an ASAP customer for years.
We used Anthony in May due to our system quit working. A tech came out and said we were low on refrigerant and that our outdoor coils were very dirty not allowing proper airflow. We paid for 2lb of refrigerant at 232.47 lb, a service fee, and paid to have our coils cleaned. 3 weeks later our A/C quit working again. We contacted another company to come look at our system. They said our capacitor went out and that our coils were dirty. I took pictures and contacted Anthony to inform them that we paid for and were told they cleaned our coils and they were NOT cleaned. They asked me to send pictures and receipt from other company, which I did. Katrina at Anthony has talked to me several times and has told me that someone would contact me to discuss issue. It's been 2.5 months, several conversations with Katrina, emails to Katrina, and text message to Karma a customer experience specialist. We have not heard back from anyone. Not only did they not clean the coils they charge me to clean, but their refrigerant is more than double per lb than the other company we used. (232.47 vs. 100.00 lb) Oh and of course, they tell us we need a new unit. I would be extremely careful using this company. I have pictures and receipts to back up my review and they have them too.
