Called Angel today for the first time at the recommendation of my neighbor.
Angel explained he would be there in a few hours and texted me when he was on the way
He quickly fixed my issue and explained everything, replacing the old parts with newer model parts that will alert me if another leak occurs.
I will have him return in a few weeks to upgrade my two other toilets !

I got home Monday night following four days at Catalina Island teaching SCUBA diving to a boat load of high school science students students. Cleaned my gear, and then jumped into a nice hot shower. Heaven! When I tried to turn the shower off, however, the handle came off in my hand. Apparently the valve core shaft was defective and broke off leaving me no way to turn the water off. I went outside and turned all the water off at the main valve, and then had to delicately explain to my wife when she came home from teaching a physical fitness class that she couldn't take a bath. Whew! Anyway, in my panic I called up Angel's plumbing which I had used previously many years ago, and made an appointment for the next day. Let me point out this was not an easy task. The shaft was broken, not allowing use of an extraction tool or any way to get purchase on the core, and the core was frozen inside the housing. Angel tried for several hours to extract the core without damaging the housing, but he finally suggested to stop for the evening and he would return on Wednesday with a different tool. I agreed, he showed up Wednesday bright and early, and had my shower fixed in a short time.

All I can say is that Angel was a life saver. He responded quickly and professionally, approached the job with careful consideration, his cost was more than reasonable, and he is a heck of a friendly guy. I highly recommend him for any plumbing installations or repairs you may need.

This guy was incredible. Came in. Knew exactly what I was talking about when I was describing the sound in my sink. Took him about an hour in and out and did not make a mess. My last plumber left everything open and some of his tools and had to come back late at night to get them. Never calling him again.

After all wind and rain about 2 weeks ago....I got up on a Sunday morning and......

No hot water.

Sigh

Check the 1 year old water heater...and the pilots out. And I couldn't relight it.

Ok, after about an hour in the rain, on my knees in the mud...I gave up and hit up yelp. Around that time a friend called and I mentioned the issue and he said I HAVE to call Angel.

So I called him up and he answered the phone. Turns our he lives close by but was out on a job. I told him what was going on.....he stated it was probably the thermostat but he could swing by in a hour or two if I needed. I told him to come on over.

Two hours later he shows up. Nice newer van....SUPER nice guy. Gets back there in the mud and said yeah......it had gotten so soaked that the thermastat was wet.

Told me I had two options. The thermostat was propriatery to my heater......so he could order one and install it the next day.

BUT that I should wait and see if it dries out. If it doesn't......replace it but if it does.....then I'm back in business.

I like that.....an honest plumber. So I said ok lets see if it drys out. I asked him what the damage was and he said let's just wait and see if it resolves itself.

Wow. Ok.

So 4 or 5 hours later......I was able to get it lit. Terrific. So I called up Angel and told him we wouldn't need a new thermostat and what can I pay him. He was at my place......in the mud and rain......for an easy 30-40 mins. He said how about $60 and I think that's a GREAT deal. On a Sunday? No problem.

So yeah........good guy.....I have total faith in his integrity and he seems to know what he's doing. Guys like this deserve more business so I hope this helps.
