I want to open this review stating that DENNIS RASMUSSEN no longer owns this company. I believe he sold it a couple of years ago. Which I believe is the first year I paid for a service I did not get.
Requested a winter furnace service which I have done with Rasmussen for many years.
Was told a service included checking and cleaning and replacing nozzles and filters setting the ignition points and checking the transformer.
After the so called performed services( which I would find out later they did not perform) I was told my furnace was not safe and they could sell me a new one.
I turned down their offer when they only would sell me a gas furnace which I did not want.
So I proceeded to call a gentleman who has been servicing fuel oil furnaces for over 40 years.
It is then I found out the proper service has not been done for a least 2 years on my furnace. He went on to replace and repair all things necessary to make the furnace run SAFE and efficiently. Including replacing nozzles,filters and the transformer.
I have called Rasmussen 3 times to get an itemized invoice which I have not received after receiving a bill to pay.I feel if they want me to pay an invoice it should say more than Winter Furnace service and the price.
I also think calling 3 times which on one call I talked to the service tech that supposedly did the work and told him to send me an itemized invoice and he said he would is enough times.
Two issues:
1: Winterized my home multiple years. Two years had broken fixture and broken pipe.
2: They are charging customers for travel that is not happening. It is based on tech traveling from their main headquarters... which isn't happening all the time. This is gouging customers. They apply charges at will and refuse to come to reason with customers on their regular routes. If you ""sign up for annual service"" then they will be fair. What a selling point!
We had a major plumbing problem. Andry Rasmussen & Sons promptly returned our call even though we called and left a message when they were closed. We arranged service. The team showed up on time and did a fantastic job. They are a great honest company. You can't go wrong with these professionals. Thank you Andry Rasmussen & Sons Plumbing
I have used Rasmussen several times in the past for various heating and cooling issues with good success. My issue with them is the fact that they charge me $125.00 travel charge when I only live 20 minutes away! It's not on a weekend or after hours charges, I made the appointment and waited 3 days (which I found as acceptable) until they had a repairman in my area (20 minutes away!). I would love to hear an explanation as to why they feel that this is acceptable, other than it's ""because they can"".

We use their services because they are very knowledgable and always get the job done well, in a timely manner and also are very helpful, answering all my questions. Their suggestions for maintaining our plumbing things are very helpful.
They are still all we need for all our plumbing and septic care, and anything else they can take care of in our home.
Never showed up for appointment, never called to re-schedule, That is complete incompetence for any company.
We have used Rasmussen's for many years. Yes, the ownership changed hands recently, but most of the staff remain and do a quality job. I still find them responsive to weekend calls. I am surprised by the poor reviews under the new owners as I have not experienced anything but good service at the same pricing as before.
Andry Rasumussen and his sons were outstanding. Unfortunately, the people who took over their business are not. In fact, they are the rudest, least professional people I have ever met. They overcharge, do a poor job, and treat you like garbage. Avoid them!
This business had a good reputation under previous ownership. However, with the new owners, things have unfortunately gotten very bad there. I hired them for a simple heater install. They charged 3 times more for labor then others, didn't wire it correctly, and took over a month to finish the install. The customer service was extremely rude and unprofessional. I strongly recommend against hiring them for anything.
