In 1953, Vincent Anderson established the company, which was initially called Vincent Anderson Plumbing and Heating. In 1972, his son David joined the business full-time. The company became Vincent Anderson and Sons, Inc. in 1985, at which point Vincent Anderson retired. Today, David Anderson, the second generation, manages the company. We offer extensive plumbing and heating services. Our projects range from hospitals and industrial sites to institutional and residential plumbing and heating. We can tackle everything from a simple home repair to extensive commercial projects.

I became a licensed plumber in 1972, achieving Master plumber status in 1974. Currently, I hold licenses as a Master plumber, Master gas fitter, and Master sheet metal worker.

We've been using Anderson Plumbing for over 15 years and have never had an issue with Dave or any of the plumbers who work for him. Dave's in the office until about 8am and then he's out in the field. During the day, a service answers the phone. It's best to leave a message only if it's an emergency.

My experience was the same as reported by other reviewers: Called, left a message, no call back, went elsewhere. Do you suppose they have a death wish?

Emailed them back on March 28 requesting a quote using the direct email address they provided on their web site. Two days later David replied requesting my phone number. I replied with my number the same day. No one called. I sent the email again on April 1. 8 days later, no reply and still no call back. I cannot comment on their plumbing skills but their communication skills are seriously lacking. Why provide an email address if you're going to ignore people? This happens to me all the time with plumbers, electricians, contractors, and the like. It seems it comes withe the territory but that doesn't mean it's okay. When I leave reviews like this they always reply with ""sorry, we never got your email"", but I have the original email I sent to prove it. I'd rather they just be honest and say they were too busy and somehow missed it. But if business is really that good they should hire some extra help and help the local economy at the same time. Ignoring a potential customer should never be an acceptable business practice.

Anderson Plumbing usually service the condo unit I live in, so I called them up to inquire about a water valve issue. I called the first time and never got a call back, so the next day, I called again and was told that they didn't have any messages from me. Fine, people forget to take messages sometimes. I left a second message and was told Mr. Anderson will give me a call back. Guess what? Still no call back. The receptionist was also rude. Sounded like she couldn't be bothered with and hangs up the phone abruptly without saying goodbye. I'm done trying to get through to them, I'm taking my business elsewhere.

The owner of this company (Dave Anderson) is the most arrogant, condescending, rude and ignorant individual I've ever dealt with in my life. He may know how to be a plumber but he certainly is in dire need of serious training on how to treat people. I am a tenant whose landlord uses this company (pretty certain it's a generation to generation relationship they have going) so unfortunately I've had to put up with him for the past 7 years of talking down to me. One instance of his ignorance........He showed up at my house 2 hours late for an appt, walked through my door, head down, and w/out a hello or an apology and headed right over to the kitchen sink and said, ""show me what you GUT"". I then confronted him and asked him, going forth, to please let me know in advance when he is going to be that late (after all I left my job to get home for him) his response was, ""I don't have time for that STUFF"". With that he then said ""I don't need this"" and stormed out the door.

I assure homewners/company owners would be treated differently, after all he needs to keep himself in business.

If you need a plumber who is arrogant and disrespectful...Dave is your guy.

We had a terrible experience with this company in October.

Our upstairs bathtub had not been draining properly for quite a while. We had tried everything--constant plunging, using a snake, etc--but the tub would sometimes take hours to fully drain. My father called Anderson plumbing, and a technician came out. The man spent over 2 hours working on the tub, making a racket as if he were using a jackhammer. Afterwards, the tub seemed to drain OK, and he said that if there were any problems, please call, and he would come right back. This cost $280.

The very next day, the tub was not draining again. My father called and spoke to a gentleman who was either an owner or a manager. The man said that if my father wanted someone to come out again, he would have to pay another $100. My dad argued with him, saying that was unreasonable because the service performed obviously had not been adequate--why else would the tub be back in the very same state after a mere 24 hours? The man said that he was very busy and couldn't just send someone over for free. Nice customer service, huh?

Instead of taking Anderson up on this lousy offer, my parents called a different plumber recommended by a coworker. This plumber came in, spent 30 minutes on the tub, and left saying everything was fine. He charged $75. We have not had a problem with the tub since. In fact, I can't remember a time when it drained so well.

So the long and the short of this review? If you want to be treated poorly and overcharged, call this place up.

When today started out, it looked like it was gonna be a rough day. We woke up and it was 52 degrees in the house - the furnace stopped working, and a blizzard was on its way tonight.

We immediately called Gem plumbing to have them complete the job they had estimated for us 2 days ago - which they assured us they would do the same day we called for $840. After several calls to Gem - and speaking to reps who had no clue about anything - we were finally told they would need to ""order the part"" - and I would have to wait a few hours for the manager to find out when they could get the part / do the job. I.e., they couldn't deliver.

I called Anderson plumbing at 7:45 am, the technician was at my house at 8:30 - he found the part and brought it back to the house by 9:30 - and we had heat again by 10:30. All for about $400 (less than half of what Gem was going to charge - assuming they ever figured out how to get the part and schedule a time to install it).

Anderson's rep was extremely competent, knowledgeable, and helpful - and he got the job done fast. What could have been a really cold ordeal was solved in 3 hours flat thanks to Anderson Plumbing.
