The roots of Anderson Plumbing, Heating & Air trace back to four companies founded by Mary Jean Anderson.

In 2018, we celebrated 40 years of service in San Diego. To honor this occasion, we enhanced our Anderson Random Acts of Plumbing, Heating & Air program. We gifted plumbing, heating, and air conditioning services and equipment to 40 randomly chosen San Diego residents at no cost.

In 2017, we founded the Anderson Career Builder Institute. We created this program to address the urgent need for skilled workers in the trades.

We combined our companies in 2006, creating a cohesive team of professionals and certified technicians. Our commitment is to offer top-tier products alongside outstanding customer service.

In 2003, Mary Jean Anderson, the President, took full ownership of Walter Anderson Plumbing by buying out her partner. Since that time, she has expanded by acquiring more businesses in the industry and bringing in skilled staff who are still with us.

Greetings! I began my career in nursing, and my background as a caregiver fuels my dedication to outstanding customer service. I want you to feel assured that we will complete the job correctly the first time.

Hiring someone for your home can create uncertainty, which is why we conduct extensive background checks, drug tests, and personality evaluations on our technicians. All our technicians are licensed and have been fingerprinted in accordance with California state regulations.

I appreciate my family and team, including my husband Bryan Rominger, who leads the Anderson Career Builder Institute (ACBI) as President and serves as Headmaster and Instructor. My son Kyle Anderson serves as Vice President and Strategic Operations Manager, while my daughter Kelly is the Service Manager.

As a family business, we take pride in ensuring the safety, comfort, and value of your home. We are thankful to our customers who allow us to serve them, and we would love the opportunity to earn your business.

Offer drain cleaning from 7am to 7pm, 7 days a week. When I called was told there's wasn't any drain cleaning today on Sunday? I tried chatting with a different service rep as It didn't sound right but to no avail. False advertising!!!

Excessive prices, resending my original review on another service. Not worth it $700 for a shower cartridge change and shower handle. wtf! This was not major plumbing. Never again!!!!!

Erin's message regarding an 'attempted resolution' is NOT TRUE. I have NEVER been contacted by anyone at Anderson PHA since posting my review. No phone calls, no emails, no letters, no smoke signals, no texts, no carrier pigeons, etc.

Erin, since I have found another HVAC contractor for my needs, I have no need to contact you now or in the future.

I called Anderson plumbing, heating and air a couple of months ago because our air conditioner stopped working. I got an automated message that they would get back to me as soon as possible and never heard from them again. Pretty poor customer service when we needed them the most.

When I had to replace the forced air unit in our home in November I got three bids. Anderson was not the cheapest, but it was easily the best. Will was the only estimator of the three who bothered to measure every room and all the hot air floor registers so he could calculate the size of the replacement FAU. As a retired engineer, I was quite impressed with his thorough analysis, not a shoot-from-the-hip guesstimate. He explained our options regarding the replacement FAU and we decided to go with a mid-price 80% efficient unit to replace our broken 60% efficient unit.

When it came time to replace the old unit Russell, the installer, found that none of the 80% units in Anderson's stock would work with the layout of our hot air ducts, and it would be several weeks before it could get one that did. When he told me the news my first thought was the Anderson was trying to up-sell me on the more expensive 96% efficient FAU now that my old unit was removed. To my surprise, he told me that Anderson was going to install the better unit for the price I had been quoted for the less efficient unit I contracted for. Anderson claims they 'wow' their customers, and they certainly 'wowed' me!

Russell did a great job installing the 96% efficient FAU. He was very knowledgable, punctual and pleasant. When an unanticipated problem came up on the last day of the installation he and his helper worked 12 hours, 8 AM to 8 PM, to get the job done so we would have heat that night. That was much appreciated because we had been without heat for over a week. Another 'wow' from Anderson!

A 96% efficient FAU doesn't need a flue to vent the hot gases from the burner, so Anderson removed the old flue from the side of the house, patched the stucco where it had been, and painted the patch to match the rest of the house. Darryl did a 'wow' job of matching the texture on the wall and applying two coats of paint to the new stucco.

Anderson also installed new, insulated hot air ducts in the crawl space under the house to replace the deteriorated, 40-year-old fiberglass and cardboard ducts. They also put new metal registers on all the hot air ducts where they terminated at floor level in the house. They doubled the size of the cold air return so the furnace wouldn't inefficiently short-cycle and installed a new floor grille and filter, and also installed a new, state-of-the-art programmable thermostat. Another 'wow'.

Yes, Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning really does 'wow' their customers, no exaggeration.

I paid $1890.00 for a repair of 3 water leaks and addition of a water pressure regulator to the tune of $1890.00 .
The parts probably cost at home depot less than $30.00 and the labor at most would have cost 6-900 dollars at the most.
I have contacted Anderson Plumbing, Heating and Air and hope to be reimbursed a reasonable cost of repair. I found the adds on television to be both appealing and the plumber was outstanding, but the business is both un ethical and outrageous in their business practices, charging beyond and excessive of what the city of San Diego deserves!!!!
I would not use them ever again, and I've had over 40 years using different plumbers in San Diego County!!!!
Don't use them, I repeat, dont' use them, they will rip you off big time!!!!!!

""This company does not care about you"" is how I would sum up my experience with Anderson plumbing. Clearly, they are so busy they don't have to care about their clients. I run a real estate team so I am very familiar with training, employees, customer service, follow-up, and overall business responsibilities so I was surprised how they can get away with such a lack of consideration. Chalk it up to great advertising - that's what they're best at.

I hired them because I wanted a big reputable company so I could get great results and good service. The service was so bad that it got comical. 1st mistake no big deal, 2nd forgivable, 3rd frustrating, 4th WTH, 5th infuriating, 6th asks the question, ""is it me?"" because it's so BLATANTLY bad, and after that, it's just comical. You just sit back and watch the s@*# show. In my honest opinion, you can hire Anderson and get great service with an easy straight forward job by a licensed plumber and it's no big deal. But if things don't go right, forget about it. They have other clients and you're in the back of the line. When you have to negotiate they will start with lets ""split the difference"" rather than being fair because you're just a number. Get out of the way so we can move on is there M.O.

I had sewer lining on my cast iron and cleanouts installed. $17k job. Plus, some repairs to the guest toilet. It was a 2-day job and took over a month. I followed up with them when I didn't hear back and they thought the job was finished. I told them my toilet is in the bathtub and there's a huge hole in my front yard with yellow caution tape around it. They filled the hole before the County could send someone to check on the permit and had to dig it up again. I had to continually call Anderson to push the progress along that I felt like I was part of the staff because I was doing their job.

Keep in mind. I never raised my voice, never cursed, never treated anyone unkindly. That's not my way. Some staff members were kind and professional and really felt empathetic to my situation but there's clearly NO culture of calling you back or following up, EVEN from the customer care specialists! Another comical point. It's a definite OWNERSHIP PROBLEM, and NOT the employees. I'm sure the licensed plumbers they have are skilled and good but when service is this bad you start to doubt everything.

Usually I only go online to write good reviews. I love sharing stories about great companies. However, this is not a reputable company, and people deserve to know. I'm shocked by all of the positive reviews. They took advantage of the fact that I do not know much about plumbing. They charged me $1,575 to change my regulator and replace a flapper in my toilet. I called Anderson Plumbing, because I had a pinhole size leak in my pull down kitchen faucet and I needed a plumber to change out the tube. Secondly, my toilet squeaked when I flushed the toilet. The plumber told me that my regulator was old and that it needed to be changed. He claimed that it had broken my toilet and my faucet. He told me that regulators have to be changed every 15 years and he claimed that mine was 13 years old. He said that if I did not change out the regulator other appliances would break. He said that regulators are very expensive and he quoted me the total bill. He also claimed that my toilet would need to be totally rebuilt. After he left I received the email receipt. I then realized that I was charged $514 just to change a flapper on my toilet. I had changed my own flapper before. It takes 10 mins and it costs $11 for the part. I went on Nextdoor to find out if any of my neighbors had had a similar experience. I was shocked by the amount of neighbors who replied. I even had some neighbors who felt embarrassed by how much they had overpaid and they sent me a private message. I called Anderson to let them know how upset I was. It took me 3 days before a customer service manager got back to me with a resolution. She finally agreed to reimburse me for the toilet. She said that they would email me the refunded receipt right away. I never received it. She claimed that I would be refunded within 5-8 days. I called my credit card company and they told me that that never happened. I have also seen that there are unresolved complaints about them on the BBB. Please don't become their next victim.

I tried them one time and that was enough. They tried to tell me a part was defective at a cost $140 to replace. I refused. That was 4 years ago and the heater works fine. A different plumber verified that part was ok. Their tech also wanted to charge for a filter replacement at $135. I refused and bought the same filter for $37 at ACE. They also gave me a price for new hot water heater $2500. I got it replaced through Home Depot for $1550. It seems to me they try to take advantage and earn a bonus for extra items not included in their scope.
