Way too expensive. They start out saying one price but wont commit. Threaten to take their $80 service call fee and leave if you point out the price is nuts. They think they can get away with insane prices by having them printed in a book to make it look 'official'. When they get done with the job they up the price x3 and then say the service fee is extra. They charged more to install a wax seal and reseat the toilet then google says a whole new toilet and flange should cost on the high end. They quoted me $5500 to install a tankless water heater. No thanks. Then they left my floor ripped up and leaked water through my ceiling now I need new ceiling tiles. Found a new plumber who could do the same for thousands less.

I was in need of having my hot water heater looked at because of reduced temperature. My regular plumber was not available at the time and I had to make a decision quickly because there was no hot water in the house. So I contacted Ameriserve from an online directory for area plumbers. They came out that afternoon requesting an automatic $59.00 service charge. After assessing the problem they informed me I had to replace the HWH. They told me they could replace it the same day but it would cost me a whopping $1,891.00 plus the service charge of $59.00 which I thought was outrages. They told me that was the going rate to replace a 50 gal. electric HWH. I told them that we had another HWH replaced last year that was a 65 gal. gas heater, which required fitting black pipe to the existing gas line for $1,200. Ameriserve knew they had me over a barrel and bullied me into agreeing to their original estimate of $1,950.00. The work was done properly but I paid through the nose for it. Knowing that we had a discrepancy in the price the technician was so arrogant that he never even took the time to tell me that there was a $150.00 coupon available for all repairs over $500.00. I would never recommend them to anyone. It was the worst experience I ever had and will never use them again in the future. Please take my advice and call someone else, anyone else.

UPDATE: We now have a open claims against this business with the Better Business Bureau and the Consumer Protection Bureau and are planning to file in small claims court EVEN IF IT COSTS US MORE MONEY..... I plan to post links to our filings with both agencies once their investigations are complete.

THIS IS A RIP OFF BUSINESS THAT SHOULD HAVE THEIR PLUMBING LICENCES REVOKED!!!!!!!

YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.......

We are a new business that had to upgrade an existing sink drain. Scott was here all of 25 minutes working. He cut the old drain pipe, replaced it with the required ""gap drain"" (plastic drain cup) and ""installed"" a brace to the floor with two screws. Total cost: $610.00.

After taking our money and leaving we were left with a major leak from the ""work"" that Scott performed. When we called back about the problem, Scott answered the phone saying ""What's up jerk?"" and threatened to have ""many people"" leave bad reviews of our new business.

THEY REFUSED TO HONOR THEIR ""100% Guarantee"" AND REFUSED TO REFUND OUR MONEY.

Wow !!! When you call be prepared to pay big money . Called for a acid neutralizer Fill . Granted the tank was empty. But $400.00 is insane. No wonder the service guy is all happy when he meets you. They did not even want to apply the service call fee towards the bill. He went back with a $79.00 check and left with disgusted customer.By the way the $79.00 was just for to come out there. Wasted money.UPDATE : service and refill for $215.00 with another Company . Wow !

I'm giving a one star rating because there aren't negative ratings. This was the most unprofessional and unethical service I've seen provided in years. If you want to be ripped off and pay too much for your repairs and be treated disrespectfully, then this is your company.

I originally gave this company 5 stars but have since rescinded and changed it to 1 star. I woke up Monday morning to a luke warm shower only to find out our water heater was broken. I contacted Ameriserve and they were prompt with providing service. Scott came to our home and gave us pricing on water heaters. Not knowing anything about the price of water heaters we went with the least expensive quote. $1900 for a 50 gallon electric water heater. After all was said and done we spoke to quite a few people about our situation and everyone was shocked to hear the amount of money we spent. We also were charged a $79.00 service charge on top of it all. Most places remove the service charge if items are purchased. The entire service took 3 hours. Technically we paid approximately $630.00 per hour for this service. I will never recommend this company to anyone nor will I ever use their disservice again!

absolute WORST experience. Scott came out to give us several ESTIMATES on repair work, which is MY decision whether I want them done or not, that's why they are ESTIMATES!!! After tallying about $800 worth of repairs, my husband and I only decided to have one item done due to urgency. Scott got pissed off, packed up his things, took the invoice and just walked out. Excuse me, we didn't want to spend $800 on bogus repairs. I guess the $170 that he was going to charge us wasn't worth his time. Absolute WORST customer service, I recommend everyone going elsewhere and avoiding this man at ALL costs. He is unprofessional, rude, and a low life. I will never use this ""Plummer"" again, seeing as he can't even live up to his title or complete a job.

This company is not truthful. I recently inspected, along with three experienced construction people, furnace work which was done on a rental property in Allentown by Ameriserve.
Upon inspection the manner in which the furnace was installed was a sham. The furnace, which was recommended by them, was extreme overkill for the home in which it was placed.
Haphazard workmanship, defrauded and dishonest owner all add up to no good.

I had a nighttime crisis - a water pump holding tank valve break, Scott Durnin of Ameriserve came right out quickly and fixed us in no time flat...so important with teenagers needing to use lots of water. He was professional and courteous. The initial call was courteously answered and transferred to Scott for the callback - all quickly so I did not panic. He explained the service and prices up front so there were no surprises. I would definitely call Ameriserve again.
