You take a risk by hiring them because they don't guarantee their work, despite what the website states. If a leak happens a couple days after they ""fixed"" the problem, they will not take responsibility - in fact, they get very defensive and start yelling on the phone. That's the level of customer service they offer. They can disagree with the customer, but they don't have to be yelling nonstop. Maybe actually figuring out what the problem was would be more helpful. Instead, they just blindly quoted an exorbitant price to return to fix something that wasn't done the first time. Luckily, I was able to figure it out and fixed it myself in a matter of minutes! That work would not have been worth the few hundred dollars quoted. Be really cautious if you hire them.

Regarding a plumbing job: Gets two stars because it was easy to make an appointment and they came within the 2 hour time-frame they gave. There is a $65 charge for showing up, which is fine, but when they arrived Abe (the plumber) wanted to charge $250 to replace two less than $10 parts. I told him that was ridiculous and he lowered to $225. Definitely feel like they took advantage of us with the pricing.

My review is for Al, the owner of American Way Plumbing and Heating to see. Al you are on vacation right now hopefully enjoying yourself. Meanwhile back home you've got Adam ""your partner"" as he explained to me, watching the business. Or maybe not...
I called Wednesday morning and explained to Adam that our air conditioner (in our attic) is leaking and is dripping onto our bedroom ceiling. I gave him some background info I thought he might need (when we had it serviced last, etc). During our short conversation he seemed very ""distracted"", so much so that I paused and asked him if perhaps now was not a good time to speak. I explained the problem only to be told that I should go back to the company that installed the unit. I told him I tried but the company could not come out for another week and the temps here in Randolph are pretty hot this week/weekend.
Adam, promised that on Thursday morning he would call me with his schedule and let me know what time he would be at my house. He didn't ask my name, address, phone number so I suggested he might want it. I guess he wiped his mouth with the napkin he wrote it on and threw it away by ""mistake."" No call back.

BRIEF: May get the job done, but excessive on prices for poor workmanship, clearly prey on clients lack of knowledge. !CUSTOMER BEWARE ! Poor professionalism, creates new problems trying to solve original problem and increase charges from quote, billing you for both original problem and one they created. NOT HONEST, .
EXTENDED/DETAILED REVIEW:
They were originally called to clear a clogged toilet drain on an older home, later attributed to flush-able or baby-wipes. To initially examine the job, the technician (Ric) did not have their tools and came ill-prepared to review the job. The technician later returned and then was unable to clear the clog initially and then tried but FAILED to be able to remove plumbing caps to clear the pipe and instead made multiple cuts removing pipe and cutting other pipe areas not affected, causing ""hair line fracture in pipe"" BUT which were clearly cut.
After cutting through pipes (where the caps could clearly have been removed), and cutting off main caps, the technician was able to clear the blockage while creating a sewage mess in the mean time ( they don't clean the mess either and just left a mess). The technician claimed that the wipes broke their snake in clearing . With each new problem an original $400 price quote rapidly rose from there. They were asked ultimately to leave and the remainder of the repairs were completed, but not by them.

Called with pluming issue and had someone show up hours after the time they has agreed to. Plumber did poor patch job that lasted a few months, then hit with exact same issue. This place did not want to take responsibility for not actually fixing the root of the problem. Would never use them again as even on the phone they are rude and unhelpful. Poor service across the board.

Adam reported same day that we reached out, which was great. He looked over our system and reported back that our freon appeared to have leaked, and that he could replace it and add a sealant to close any small leaks, but that a larger leak would be a big project. He said that trying to use the sealant was the way to go, and that he could replace the freon and add a sealant for $100. He then added that the condenser needed to be flushed, and said that would cost $375. I told him that I needed to get the $375 for the condenser unit approved through my landlord, but that he could proceed with the freon and sealant.

I got a call back a few minutes later, as my wife was alarmed that Adam was now quoting different prices, after hanging up with me. She had asked him to review, and he told her that he was going to proceed with replacing the freon and adding sealant for $475, but would wait for approval to do the $100 condenser unit flush. Clearly, this was the opposite of what he had told me, and the price was now $100 higher overall.

I spoke with Adam again, who assured me that I had misunderstood. I know that I heard him clearly, however, as I was in front of my computer when I took his call, and I took down the prices he was quoting me so that I could do a realtime lookup to ensure they were fair.

Given the sequence of events, Adam's actions appeared intentionally deceptive. I asked him to leave, at which he informed me that I would be required to pay a $75 service call fee. I declined, and he left without incident.

I later spoke with his employer, Al, after requesting to speak with him. I could not reach him on the company's listed phone number, as nobody picked up when I called (3 times) - but he called me, insisting that I had misunderstood, and that I should price it out with other vendors to see that the prices he was quoting were fair, and that they would ""never"" quote the prices in the way that they did (as in, $100 for freon replacement, $375 or $475 for condenser flush). When I told him that I felt he was being dishonest, he told me that he didn't want to speak with me again and hung up.

It's worth noting as well that he said the cost of the freon itself would be more than $100.

Overall, a very bad experience, and lots of accusations. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I called them on Sunday, they showed up on time. They asked me to replace the heater tank as it wouldn't fire up. I got a second opinion before replacing and the second service made the tank work. I understand sometimes the old machines may work differently, When I called this company about it, they were very unprofessional about it and started yelling. I would not use their service ever again. Go spend your money with some other service.
