PROFFESIONAL! Sums up the service we experienced with American Vintage Home. From the sales process through scheduling and installation, Marek, Greg, Janosz, Dominick, the entire team was very responsive to all questions, clearly communicated their schedule and what they were doing. We had a SpacePak installed in our 100 year old home. So far it's performed wonderfully. No more noisy window units! With this summer's mild weather we haven't gotten a chance to put the system to a full test! The missing star is only for a botch delivery of the condenser, no one knew why it didn't deliver the day it was expected. Otherwise our experience was excellent.
Will A.We love our new SpacePak air conditioner. At first I felt like I was being passed around as the intake person passed me along to the sales engineer who passed me to the installation engineer, but when the installation engineer got there I was immediately put at ease -- he knew what he was doing and knew how to explain it. We are very pleased with the function and appearance of the work. Only downsides: a bit of chipped tile and poorly patched plaster from the installation.
Kim H.Had a great experience with Scott Toomey when I called AVH to come evaluate the air conditioning in my home and propose how to move more air to 2nd floor of 100+ yo home. While doing the evaluation he discovered my hot water heater was leaking. Quite good to figure that out before it spills 40 gallons of water! He was very helpful in arranging a solution for the poorly located old water heater was located (too close to furnace and not safe). The plumber that came to install the new hot water heater was professional and very knowledgeable. Great experience in dealing with everyone at AVH.
Marie K.We have had American Vintage Home out to consult/repair on our a/c unit as well as our water heater.
They have been prompt, knowledgeable, and friendly. What most impressed me with their service is their commitment to the work they have already done. After a repair on our water heater, it worked for 24 hours and then had a slight glitch.
With one call a service guy named Walter came out in March and fixed our water heater within minutes. We were not charged for his time because it was covered under the prior visit. We were only charged for the part.
Walter was super friendly and knowledgeable. I now refer American Vintage Home to all of my friends and family.
Gave American Vintage Home a call when my A/C unit was not blowing cool air, the tech made it out the same day. He said the system was low on R22 and then filled it up and retested, unfortunately no change in temp. He said our two options were to replace the compressor for $2500 or get another tech out for a quote to replace the system. Had another company come out to get a second opinion and they found that the R22 had been filled way too high, to 340 psi, they were able to get the system to a working psi and everything has been running like new since. Mistakes happen but I paid a good amount of money for their service and if I didn't get a second opinion I would have paid more for a compressor or new unit that I didn't need.
Graham B.I have used American Vintage Home many times over the years and they have alway given exceptional service. This time was no different, the engineer was on time friendly and finished the service of the A/C and humidifyer in no time at all.
We used American Vintage Home to replace a totally dead furnace on the first day of owning a house after a particularly messy closing (partially due to the surprise blown furnace on a 3 degree day on the day we were supposed to close).
They were super professional, the product line they offer is fantastic (and they really do a good job of walking you through the options rather than trying to upsell you), and their service is excellent.
Hopefully it will be many years before they're back in my basement replacing a furnace, but given the chaos of those few days these guys are the ones to call if you don't want to add a bunch of stress to an already crazy time. Highly recommended.
I own a small condo/apt in one of those 100+ year old brick buildings. I have an electric furnace and It was always cold in the winter and the electric furnace seemed to be on all the time and yet it never got to 70 degrees. I had several companies out to see what needed to be done to increase the heat. They basically serviced it and charged me but didn't solve the cold problem. As it was an electric furnace this caused the electric bills to be sky high. No one seemed to know what to do.
Finally, I asked American Vintage Homes out to investigate as I had seen on their web site that they dealt in electric furnaces and that their staff had gone to a course even to be certified in electric furnaces. Their first guy looked at it and said he would call in the engineer to really analyze it. The engineer came out the next day and looked it over. No one had ever suggested getting a real engineer in!
The engineer was upfront and said the capacity of the furnace was way too little for the size of the apartment. It would never be warm in the winter! The developer basically put in a unit that couldn't heat the whole place! American Vintage said that they would have to order and install a larger blower increasing it from 5000Watt to 10,000 Watts. As you can imagine this was not cheap, basically a new furnace. But they explained everything to me in detail. So I decided to trust them and go for it. They had to actually track down the part, order it from the manufacturer and then install it. This took about 10 weeks, but they kept in touch with me all along and went out of their way to get the order moving. Finally, the parts came and they installed it, replacing also the cover which was warping and installing more amps in my electrical box to handle the more powerful furnace. They were able to get it done all in one day. All in all, great service!
I got very frustrated at times because the manufacturer was not very responsive but they kept on top of it and kept me informed of the progress. And the result... It's WARM all through the apartment. It gets up to 70 in about 15 minutes where as before it kept chugging away and NEVER reached 70. I am SO GRATEFUL!
I have told everyone in my building as we all have the same problem. Use these guys... they know what they are doing!
Awesome customer service. They came out quickly during a recent blizzard and were able to troubleshoot a heating problem swiftly. Courteous and well informed repair staff! They've been servicing our furnace and AC for over ten years. We trust these guys.
Jay G.American Vintage Home installed an AC unit a decade ago that leaked Freon since they installed it. They charged me multiple times to inject leak fix into the Freon. Most recently they wanted $650 for a condenser cleaning for a virtually non-working AC. Their service man was rude and I believe created more problems than he ever fixed (for example he left a vent disconnected upon inspection and required I pay the $650 for the repair). I think they were a good company years ago, but stay away now. I finally fired American Vintage Home and brought someone in who know what they were doing. It cost me $125 and they found the disconnected vent, cleaned and fixed the drain. Been working correctly for the first time ever.
