Felipe was prompt, helpful and finished a job I had started and gotten stuck on in just a few hours. Replaced a Delta Rough Fit shower control that had begun leaking recently. No complaints.

Normally I would not leave a review for just an estimate appointment but by the time the visit was over I felt so unsettled. The technician (Mike) took video my home without asking first and couldn't give me an estimate. He said he had to show ANOTHER technician and they both might have to come out to quote the project. It has been a week and I have not heard back from him or the company. Right now I am grateful to have a security system, guns, and other companies scheduled to do work throughout the summer. My husband might get his Mastiff sooner than we'd planned on. By far the worst Yelp recommended company I have ever dealt with.

I needed to replace the regular outdoor hose bibs with quarter-turn hose bibs to facilitate opening and closing of water by my wife. She developed arthritis in her wrists and could not easily close regular faucets with multi turn handles. Feliks was the first to visit me. He quickly decided what had to be done. His estimate was the one I selected. Stiliyan was the technician who performed the replacement. He worked very efficiently and cleanly. I will use this company for future plumbing projects.

Summary: American Rooter utilized manipulation and attempted to play on my emotions by exaggerating the difficulty of the job (water heater located on the 2nd floor) and the state of emergency I was in, which was likely due to the fact that I am a woman with little-to-no knowledge of water heaters and the drip pan contained water (although the drip pan wasn't nearly full and it was a super slow drip). Steve and American Rooter thought I'd be frantic enough to pay them $2,150 for a $1,300 (or less) job. Once I told Steve the quote I received, he had the audacity to call me back minutes later to match the price. Needless to say, I went with my plumber who swapped out my water heater, pressure valve, and expansion tank within a few hours (later that day) without any complaints. American Rooter utilizes scare tactics and attempts to take advantage of customers. My water heater, which is located on the second floor, was leaking into the drip pan. I called my warranty company immediately, which dispatched American Rooter. Steve, from American Rooter, stopped by within a few hours. Upon immediate assessment, Steve repeatedly and dramatically explained how difficult/labor-intensive of a job it was to replace my water heater. He then stepped out to contact his people to get a quote for my job. He then came back into the house to contact my warranty company to obtain authorization. (1) My deductible is $75. Steve attempted to collect a $75 x 3 ($225) deductive for each: water heater, pressure valve, and expansion tank although he was unsure whether that's how my warranty worked, or whether he was going to do the work). (2) Steve told me that my water heater could explode any minute, the water heater was inconveniently located, and that it was take him all day to swap it out. He called the warranty company several times and attempted to rush them to authorize the job (attempted to wait on the phone until they assessed the claim; told them he lives an hour away and he didn't know what to do with himself in the interim; asked if he could call them back in five minutes for an answer). (3) I told Steve my warranty company would only cover $1,000. (4) While awaiting authorization, and prior to telling me the cost, he took it upon himself to go to Home Depot to purchase/pick-up a water heater, pressure valve, and expansion tank. My warranty company called me to communicate that Steve/American Rooter was going to charge me $2,150 for the installation of the water heater, pressure valve, and expansion tank, they'd cover $1,000, and I'd be responsive for out-of-pocket costs of $1,150. With Steve at Home Depot calling and texting me repeatedly, I asked the warranty company representative if she could break down the part and labor cost of each to get to the $2,150 (at worst, he was charging me $900 in labor to install the water heater). Once she did, I said I'd call them back. I contacted a local plumber and asked for his estimate, which was $1,300 (labor, parts, tax). I called the warranty company back and told them that I would not go with American Rooter. I finally spoke to Steve and told him that his price was in excess of $800 of another quote I just received, and that as a result, I wasn't going with American Rooter. He understood. (5) My backup plumber came by to assess the water heater (he's not a service provider through my warranty/I'd have to pay him out of pocket and get reimbursed, which is why I didn't call him first). As my plumber rang my doorbell, Steve was calling my phone repeatedly. When I answered, he told me he spoke to his """"boss"""" who told him American Rooter can match the prices of $1,300, a $850 discount! (6) I asked my plumber if it was a difficult job (as Steve described) and he said it wasn't/just an ordinary replacement.

Highly recommend! Steve was prompt, courteous and professional. I really felt like he went the extra mile to do the job well.

Stay far, far, away from this shady plumbing company. I discussed a number of services being done in my basement (toilet, sink pump, shower trim install). I asked, """"How much for all of what I'm asking?"""" I was told $1200. I agreed. After no more than an hour and a half, the service tech said he was finished. I asked about why he hadn't installed the pump and he said it didn't need to be installed. Well, wouldn't that make the price lower? He gave a bunch of excuses and promised to return. I'm no scientist, but I know a little about gravity and even I know that water doesn't magically run up! They used fast talk and a strong accent to make the excuse for the """"misunderstanding"""". AFTER, I cancelled the check, they THEN decided to show me an utterly ridiculous price list. $500 to screw a connector on the end of a pipe! $500 to install a toilet!! If you a decide to use this company, have them show you the price list FIRST before you sign anything. I ended up having another plumber complete the work for less than a quarter of what I was SCAMMED out of. I considered having them just take me to court but decided $1,200 wasn't worth the aggravation. They know exactly what they are doing to people. You've been warned!

Staff doesn't use any COVID precautions. No masks or PPE, no gloves or social distancing measures. Staff didn't seem professional or knowledgeable and struggled through the job. The end result was fine, hence the three stars.

We bought a new house recently and called American Rooter Services to check out the plumbing and sewer pipes before we signed the final contract. Stilyan and Kris came over very quickly and used a camera scope to look at the sewer pipe all the way to the city sewer under the street. They found out that the pipe was broken under our yard!! We were able to address the issue with the seller before we bought the house which saved us thousands of dollars! Stilyan and Kris fixed the problem quickly and we have the highest level of confidence that the job was done correctly. We were nervous about having a broken sewer in our yard but feel great now that the job was completed so professionally!! Stilyan and Kris also discovered that a gas pipe went right through the city's sewer pipe underneath our sidewalk. They advised us to call the city and let them know what they found. We called the city and they sent someone out that confirmed what they found. The city is now fixing the issue at their cost. This is also saving us thousands of dollars!! If Stilyan and Kris didn't find this problem it could have caused a major issue in the future. Stilyan and Kris were both very knowledgeable, thorough and polite. They arrived right on time, explained everything to us before they started and made sure we were happy after they finished. I would recommend American Rooter Service to anyone looking for a high quality plumbing company with great customer service!! For a quick response you can reach Stilyan at 404-729-1164.

They came quickly and repaired a broken main water line to my house. The price was fair. They were nice guys and I'll use them again when I'm the unfortunate position of needing a plumber.

We found a leak under our sink in our kitchen and realised there was water damage under our kitchen island. We called American rooter services, and they responded right away. Steve and another gentleman came, accessed the issue, and explained everything that led up to the leak. Steve was very courteous and professional. He was able to fix our issue promptly. I highly recommend American rooter services.
