The head of our company, our Master Licensed Plumber, brings over eighteen years of plumbing experience. Following an economic downturn, he was having to travel out of town to find work with his employer. After three years of doing so and being away from his family, he realized that it was his time to take a leap of faith and start up his own company. Since then, he has felt incredibly fortunate.
Sarah Conn oversees our daily operations. She handles all of our books, marketing, publicity, networking, and everything in between. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska in Omaha.

Recommended Customer Reviews

The front desk acts a line of defense if a customer calls with an issue. The receptionist has no authority to resolve anything. Whenever you call the managers are always ""in a meeting"". Feels like they hope a customer will move on and stop bothering them about getting an issue resolved. Literally had to demand for a manager to call me. When I did get a call back she purely admitted due to their costs they pass the buck to the customer as she said all businesses do. Charges double or 3x more than anyone after I got quotes in the area. Also went on a Tirade that felt like she was being treated like a victim for overcharging clients. Talked down to me in her explanation on how the world works like I was an idiot.

Do not use this company!
The company explained that the repair was harder than it was. The workers completed the work in 20 minutes and did not do the work they said they would. They essentially put putty on two pipes and charged me over $1,300.
I called other companies and they said that job should have cost more than $300 at the top end. I would not recommend this company at all. Please be advised.

Called American Rooter in Omaha to replace a single valve. They were over-priced for the work and tried to up-sell other services with a total cost of over $4,000. Will not be calling this company again.

Called them for an estimate on a broken pipe under my laundry room floor. Gave me the estimate which was $5K higher than the plumber I went with. Even with extra work the other plumber needed to do the total was STILL more than $3K less than AR. But when the serviceman started in with the service plans I checked out.

BEWARE....!
This company charged me 615.00 to install a pilot assembly. Parts were covered on warranty so this was all labor. It took him 2.5 hours. This is more than a high price it's outrageous....!!!!
He was here aout 3 hours. 300.00 per hour is ridiculous....!!!
I won't call them again.

Josh and Mike were great to work with! They came out and took care of our garbage disposal. They were very professional and made the process quick and easy!

Called these guys for a small pinhole leak in my hot water heater copper pipe. Two guys came and all they were interested in doing is up selling me $2400 or $1300 or $350 other so called plumbing issues but when you call them they tell you 69.99. Called another plumber and it was only 100.00, and
they fixed it with no other issues. This company
Will RIP YOU OFF IF YOU LET Them!!!!!!!!!!

Well we are getting a estimate for new gas line and they charge $70 for getting a estimate and the estimate amount was more than twice from nearest competitor and that does sound reasonable .
This passed the basic test for trust wittiness I would not recommend

If you read my previous review you will see I had an issue. Sarah and Brad made it right. Not only did they pay the other plumbers invoice they installed a new water heater in my home brought it up to code and no charge. That's customer service

I've had American Rooter a few times with old plumbing and have never had a problem with them. I've always had prompt, excellent service until the other night. I set an appointment up for a show time between 1:00pm and 4:00 pm and Dan, the employee never showed until 6:30 when we were in the middle of eating dinner. (I had given up on seeing them that day). I gave the guy every opportunity to cancel and told him I would be glad to reschedule because its dark and getting late, but he said it didn't matter and that it was up to me, so I said we could go ahead and snake the kitchen drain. The first thing he does when we get to the basement to look at the pipe was run his finger across it and tell me I would need a whole new pipe ran because it ran the risk of getting punched through since it was old. Then he walked over to the main line and did the same thing but stated that ""it wouldn't need it at this time, but would eventually"". Well, my red flags went up and after he left I called another plumber (who I trust completely) and in fact does not clean drains but has been here and replaced water valves and other minor stuff. He stated that yeah punching through a pipe can happen but there's no way of knowing until it happens if the pipe is bad, so to just replace it right off the bat would be expensive and would not really cure the problem of stuff catching at the elbow under the concrete floor. I ended up calling Ricky Rooter and they pretty much substantiated what the plumber I trusted said, so I used them instead. I'll never call American Rooter again since it seems like they are looking for more ways to make a fast buck. The review with Dan messing with the water heater totally makes sense to me, but my water heater is brand new so I think he knew better. I'm sitting here shaking my head because I find it absolutely abhorrent that a company would do this. It also makes me wonder how many people, especially the elderly, fall for b.s. like this.
