Recommended Customer Reviews

This company epitomizes why you never can trust contractors and MUST get multiple bids. I had a simple drain clog on my toilet and called this company on a Sunday. Before they came out I got several over the phone bids from local plumbing contractors, all in the $120 price range. I explained to every contractor that roots were found in the plumbing lines and I needed someone with the proper tool to run a snake and then replace the toilet with an owner supplied wax toilet ring. I knew this was a half hour job. The Rescue Rooter man came out on Monday and took a quick look and quoted me $480. When I said ""no thank you""; then he asked me ""how much did you expect to pay for this?"" I told him that I knew it was a routine job and his price was way too high. He just said to call him when I changed my mind and instead I had a handy man who came out and did the job for $60. This is simply unethical to quote outrageous fees as a gamble that your customer is really a bigger moron than you are!

Avoid this company..... they do bait-and-switch tactics for starters. They offered me a ""preventive maintenance package"" for my main line for $97. When the guy got to my place it was double what I was told on the phone. I wish I'd checked Yelp beforehand and told them to leave. Anyway, they found roots in the main line beyond my property line which apparently I am responsible for. Their quote was $1600, then $1400, then $1200, to do a simple hydo jet. The hard sell techniques this company uses are appalling (e.g.if they didn't clean out the line immediately I'd have a flood). I called in Gary's Rooter in Glendale who came out a few days later (no flood in the interim BTW). Gary did a great job that took all of an hour and cost $400 with a 14 month guarantee. Now I have a strong suspicision that the pipes these guys told me needed replacing several years ago didn't actually needed replacing.

Rescue Rotten and their customer service policies suck. If I could give them no stars I would. Many, many plumbers, such as Alexander offer a WRITTEN 30 day guarantee on rooter service. Take the time to ask before you allow any rooter service anywhere near your house to generate a bill. Rescue Rooter doesn't. If you call them the next day with recurrent stoppage of the same drain they will say, ""You are SOL my friend"". So of course I called Alexander. Anything to avoid another bill with these incompetents. Alexander Rooter & Plumbing, 818.782.9724.

I had a leak inside my toilet tank an called Rescue Rooter for them to come an fix. The Kohler toilet cost $275. new. When the service person did arrive late to our house he said it would cost $601. to rebuild the tank unit. I sent him away right then. I the next day went to a plumbing parts store in the valley an bought a Kohler washer for $3.00 an installed it my self an it took about 4 minutes to do it an I WILL NEVER USE USE RESCUE ROOTER EVER AGAIN!!! And really suggest you do not either.. Bruce R. Palmdale Ca. Can't even give them 1 star.. If there was NEGATIVE stars then they score a 5

THese guys absolutely suck! They are rip off artists galore. Never use them. Xmas eve, sink gets clogged....called said they'd be out in 1 hour, 3 hours later....they come in, don'nt even look at the sink and say $400, for something that cost $100 3 months ago. wouldn't give me an estimate over the phone even though we knew what needed to be done. They suck and my next stop is reporting them to the better business bureau.

CONSUMER BE WARNED!
VERY DISHONEST and unprofessional business.
They gave me an estimate of over $600 to replace a flush valve and gasket on my toilet that is less than a year old. This is over three times what it would cost me to replace the entire toilet! They were charging over $450 for the just the flush valve. The same one I could buy at Home Depot for less than $20! Manager on duty--Larry Kiefer--extremely rude! Consumer Care officer at corporate offices does not return phone calls. DO NOT USE!

Rescue Rooter is the pits! They are scam artist, pure and simple. They overcharge and lie to you about your pipes. I've been ripped off by them and will NEVER USE THEM AGAIN!!
I've heard they will even ""show"" you how bad your pipes are by looking at some b&w grainy footage. But that's what it is, fake footage. They scammed me with this trick at Christmas time last year and I believed them that my pipes were about to give out. I paid them several thousands of dollars and now that I've heard more about them, I'm not even sure the problem was legit and I'm still paying off the repair!
Don't use them!

Never, ever again will I call these people!!!!
On Saturday, our sink backed up. It would slowly drain back out after an hour or so. Because, it wasn't horrific and our schedule was crazy, we didn't have them come out until Wednesday.
They arrived exactly when they said they would. The tech came in and shoved a snake down the pipes and said he felt a blockage but was having a problem locating it? He was going to call in another guy who was familiar with Eichler houses. He arrive 10 minutes later and after they talked he told us he would need to send the camera down the lines to see the problem...no charge. Now, the kitchen lines run down one side of the house and the bathroom lines on the opposite. He ran the camera down the bathroom lines knowing this. He told us he had good news and bad news. The bad news is we had a cracked pipe near the street. The good news is they would start work right now and fix it....for $17,000!!!!! Really? That's good news? We wanted out kitchen sink unplugged not to put his kid through college!!! He actually showed us the camera and we couldn't see anything! He also would never show us the kitchen blockage he claimed was there.
We said there was no way. He acted really surprised. We told him we don't have that kind of money. He said we could make payments. We told him we don't have that kind of money. Finally, we said to give us a quote for the work and we would get back to him. Well, for $900.00 he would pressure wash the kitchen line. Um, no. $900 to shoot water through our pipe? We told him to finish snaking the sink and he could go. So the ""closer/scam artist"" took off and of course didn't leave a quote ( I am sure he was too embarrassed to leave such evidence.) The tech finished the sink and threw some chemicals down it and went on his merry way. Guess what? The sink works and the house didn't fall into the sewer system. Cost for snaking the sink - $350.20, way too expensive in my book.
I don't appreciate this type of doom and gloom scam. There is nothing wrong with our pipes. I feel bad for the people that believe this crap and actually get hosed for big money.
What happened to honest service companies?

I was unfortunate enough to have these unprofessional plumbers in my home 11/10. I had just had my front lawn seeded and fertilized and although I have a wide concrete path leading to my front door, their plumber walked through the manure on the lawn and tracked it through my house. They came to repair a stoppage in one of my second floor toilets. Before the plumber, now in his stocking feet because of the manure on his boots started to work, I told him the toilet was moving at its base when I cleaned around it, then he started to work. When I checked on him 10-15 minutes later, I witnessed him jamming the auger so violently in the toilet bowl that the base of the toilet was being lifted off the floor and the bathroom was flooded with toilet water. He did not even alert me to the flooding. I ran for towels to mop up the mess, but it was too late. The water was running through the walls of my house down to the powder room on the ground floor, through light fixtures and switches. There was so much water my baseboard moldings on the ground floor separated from the walls in the powder room and parts of my family room. When I called to report these problems to Rescue Rooter, the plumber lied and said that I had not informed him of the loose toilet base, so they were not responsible. Even if I hadn't told him, which I absolutely did, shouldn't that be something they always check before starting that procedure? They refused to even come and see the damage on the lower floor of my house or even offer to pay to have my manure tracked stairs and carpet the plumber dirtied. YOU DON'T WANT THESE GUYS IN YOUR HOME!!!!!!

An honest plumber.
It has taken us more than a few times to try and find someone who can fix things and not rip us off.
The fellow who came out and fixed our line to the washer was pleasant and nice and did not overcharge.
i don't know why they are listed as Monrovia because they service the west valley.
