I called American Pump to ask if they stocked replacement switches for a well pump that had run continuously and created a big mess for me when I awoke to a newly developed pond in my yard. The gentleman that answered the phone immediately started trying to find the causation of the problem by running over different situations that potentially caused my issue. Asking me several questions as well to try and help solve my blowout mystery. I will say,, in this day and age this is a very rare thing to find both someone extremely knowledgable AND helpful. Hat tip to you Mike. I went up to the store location was greeted by a kind assistant and got way too much of their time and knowledge for what I paid for some replacement parts for my system. He had stocked all I needed. High quality pro grade parts is all I could see they sell. Thank you Mike, you're a real one God Bless

Mike responded on schedule for my same day request for help with a pump. He completed the work professionally for a reasonable price. We are happy to have our household water supply operational again. Thanks Mike. Joe Reynolds

In our case, American Pump did show up as scheduled (only a little late) and owner Mike L. seemed to do a competent job replacing/installing a pool pump. But after the job was complete and actual bill presented, we learned that his markup on parts was at least 30 percent higher than prices on Amazon/online pool supply houses for the identical items...He charged us $480 for the identical pool pump model selling for $100 less on Amazon and several online pool supply retailers, and charged 8 times more than others for a small part -- all in addition to separate service call AND labor AND tax. Plus he failed to fix a leak because he didn't have usable epoxy in his truck! Although he provided a quote prior to starting the job (part of our $50 service call telling us our pump needed replacing, which we knew), what was installed wasn't the top-level model in that price range. We feel we were taken advantage of, since we knew nothing about what was needed -- supplies and labor -- until he began work. After the job was complete and he was paid, Mike failed to return a msg asking about prices. When we finally reached him, he testily said """"I'm entitled to my profit!"""" and appeared angry we asked about his markup/installation, at least $200 higher than what neighbors paid for similar work by other contractors.
