Recommended Customer Reviews

We paid twelve thousand dollars for a system that has been non-functional for over two years. American Pump will not stand by their work and they just ""fired"" us for offering to pay extra money to get service before or after I work. Most importantly, the customer service has been abysmal. Mike, the owner is condescending. From the beginning he has been contentious and impatient. He got into an argument with our general contractor when the house was being built and he has been rude to us several times via phone and email.
We have too much iron in our well water. Since construction was complete in 2020, we have staining in the washing machine the sinks, tubs, and the showers. We have a chronic sulfur smell coming from the taps.
Eric has been out to the house twice. He has good customer service skills in that he is polite. He admits Mike has terrible customer service skills and regularly angers clients. On his second visit, he replaced the paper fiber filter with a carbon one. Since then the filter has been out of service ""call for service"". He says the smell problem is due to contamination in pipes and needs a chlorine flush. The two annual maintenance visits to the house are about five hundred dollars each year (after we balked at 250 of work that was not done) Labor materials to flush the well and house piping 2800 dollars. It took weeks to get that estimate after the visit.
We found another service company that has been helpful and kind. They are happy to take our money to come early before work.

Extremely rude and argumentative. Really strange interaction for someone who is supposed to be dealing with customers. Cheryl treated me like child and spoke to me like she wanted to fight.

We asked to have the water checked out due to water quality. When I called back to see the results the lady that answered was very rude. I wish the owner could listen to that conversation, she must be family or she would not be working there. They quoted us a incomplete system by comparison to other quotes. When I asked why they left out components others included in our quote vs other companies she said they have to test the water again. They already billed $300 to test the first time. The house came with a broken system with their sticker on it which the previous owner said it broke so often he gave up on it. This company doesn't want your business and doesn't want to help you. Stay away.

The team did a great and quick well tank replacement for us - left our old tank out for a while until they could come back and pick it up - but they did remove it after a few weeks. Even with that still very satisfied with the job. Thanks

These guys came out the next day, replaced our well pump and came in over $700 less than our other bid. While talking to a friend about the work we were getting done he recommended this business and we couldn't have been happier with the referral. Office staff and field staff were spectacular.

Had trouble with our well pump. Didn't know the depth. Called and they set up a basic trip. $105 for a trip charge and $110 an hour to troubleshoot. I was told by the office manager that if they did the repair the hourly charge would be in the quoted repair.
Fine. Tech came out and was very nice. Wasn't super knowledgeable about our system and called back to the office several times for guidance.
Determined that it was in the well and would have to pull the pump. Determined the depth to be 540' which is very deep. Quoted me $2200 to pull the pump, make the repairs needed and reinstall it. That was a rather large pill but I understood they had to bring out equipment.
They pulled the first section of pipe and found a suspected bad cycle stop. Replaced the cycle stop and reinstalled the pipe. Temporarily checked the system. Still not right. Suspected the pump was bad. Price went up to $5480.
Looked up pump online and found a new one for $1277.
Pulled the pump and found a split on the last section of pipe at the base of the threaded connection. Tech was elated as we were because now it appeared that the cost would go back down to $2200 and he had a chance to get the job done that day.
The tech had trouble getting the broken pipe out of the pump. Did not have a hollow pipe extractor??? He wound up digging it out. By now it was getting late. Installed 6 sections of pipe and left is for the night.
Came back the following morning and finished the job by 11am. Called in to the get the bill and it was $3424?
That was never communicated. After receiving an itemized invoice it seems that the $2200 didn't include the cycle stop valve, the replacement check valves, the couplers, the wire connectors, the tape, or even the original trip charge.
Extremely poor business practices to fail to inform the customer that the cost would be nowhere near the estimate.
The difference between a great company and a very poor one is not just those that work for them but how they interact with the customer. The communication is extremely poor and the person that runs this company was terrible to deal with. Uncaring, unsympathetic, and really a poor communicator in my opinion.
Most companies give you a price an honor it.
