First, I want to note that I hate leaving negative reviews. But after this experience, I was shocked!

Like other reviewers, my home warranty sent me to them. I had an appointment between 9-11. I took off work to be there.

They called the office phone at 8:30 am - when my assistant wasn't working yet, thus couldn't answer. I specifically told them to NOT call that number and to call my cell.

First, the plumber left a message on the office phone stating he was on his way.

10 minutes later, this lady who sounds like she has smoked wayyyy too many cigarettes in her day left a message saying: ""Since you are unable to commit to your appointment time, we canceled your appointment. Call us if you want to reschedule.""

I called back 10 minutes after the message when my assistant arrived to the office and relayed the message to me (which was still 10 minutes before the scheduled time at 9 am). When she answered she said ""sorry, you missed your time. All I can do is send someone out Monday."" She was so short and even hung up on me!

I was so confused because it wasn't even our appointment time yet! I was scheduled for 9-11. There was no confirmation or communication with me that I must answer the call to keep my scheduled appointment.

Again, I took off work for this appointment. No work = loss of money. Her demeanor caught me totally off guard.

To add to the mix, I'm moving. All I want is a hot shower in my new bathroom. Most importantly, being told there's a gas leak and carbon monoxide in my new home is a little unsettling and urgent, don't you think?

So I call back. The same cigarette voice lady answered. I started to explain the situation and she cuts me off and she says ""it's not my fault that you don't know how to answer your phone"".

What?! Come to find out this lady is the manager and owner?!

I told her: ""No one is blaming anyone. I am sitting here waiting for the plumber to arrive and no one came here. So not answering a call outside of our scheduled time does not equal me missing the appointment, right?""

Then she says, ""well if you knew how to answer your phone you would still have your appointment."" Then even started mocking me! I can't even write how angry and shocked I was.

I felt like I was being punked. It's as if they are purposely trying to go out of business. I don't understand.

After reading everyone else's reviews with very similar situations, it's a shame that others have to deal with it. They are obviously miserable. I hope they somehow either turn it around or just go out of business. Misery loves company..

I paid this company to repair a leaking faucet. I was told that they were ordering replacement faucet when they left my home and would be back in a few days to install the faucet. No one came back to install, and none of my calls to the company were returned. I honestly don't know how this company is still in business - recommend doing research where you will find that they have 1-star and ""F"" ratings almost across the board.

I'm not surprised so many people dislike this company. I received the worst service I've had in two decades of being a home owner/renter. The receptionist/dispatcher on the phone called my home number by mistake (confusing me with another work order), then got mad when I tried to explain what she had done (she accused me of trying to sneak in an extra work request when she had the wrong house altogether). Later we got to my issue, which was their worker doing minor (but annoying) damage to a faucet when making a different repair (he also left a mess behind, maybe that's standard for plumbers, I don't know). She insisted the break I was reporting must be coincidental and couldn't be related to their worker - she wasn't here, how would she know? I told her I didn't appreciate the tone she was using and she issued the non-apology apology: ""I'm sorry you don't like the voice I've been using for 60 years."" She then proceeded to complain to her co-worker about me *while I was still on the phone.* Rudeness, poor quality of work, poor organization, you name it. Don't waste a nickel on these guys. It's not hard to find a plumbing company with a good review - I only wound up here because my warranty company decides who fills the work request. I'll do all I can to avoid these guys in the future.

I would highly recommend this company. Was also a little concerned after reading some of the reviews. They were courteous, on time, professional and efficient. Would definitely call again, with or without a home warranty.

I was also a little concerned about using this company after reading the reviews, however, this is the company my home warranty company sent out. From start to finish - they were very professional. The owner, Chris, was pleasant. I received calls when promised - the plumber was on time and was very nice. I would recommend them.

This company is the most unprofessional I have ever had to deal with. They are anything but American. The owner is rude and speaks to her clients in a pompous demeanor. Do not use this business. RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY. A.H.S. Sent this company to do service on my water heater and the way she spoke to me to set up an appt. Made for sure that her company would never enter my home. I had to RUN my son to school and was 2 minutes away when the plumber got to my home. My appt was between 7 am and 9 am. It was 7:05 a.m.when she called and said her plumber was on his way. It was 7:13 and I was 2 minutes from my home when she called and said the plumber would not wait and that I would be charged for the service call. I said I was sorry and that I was 2 minutes away. Not good enough she said. ""We're gone"", she said. If there were negative stars, American Plumbing would get negative 5 from me. Please take my advice and do not use them. It will be some of the best advice you receive in a long time.

Very unprofessional. I was put in contact with this company through my home warranty. They canceled my appointment the day of service and said they were calling my home warranty company to have another plumbing company come out (they never called my home warranty company). I had to call American Plumbing to follow up and they said I have to reschedule with them. I have reached out 2 times and they have yet to call back. I placed a complaint to the home warranty company and they quickly found be a different reliable company.

Based on the terrible reviews I was very hesitant to have this company out, but they are the company of choice for my home warranty. I have no idea where these terrible reviews came from, everything about my experience with American Plumbing Service was stellar! Phone calls were prompt, pleasant and came when promised, the plumbers sent out were incredibly experienced, knew exactly what they were doing, and had all the parts on the truck with them to do the job in less than an hour! Not only that, they were personable, played with my pets, and went over everything they were doing with me so I would understand how to use the new pump. There is absolutely no reason to be hesitant to use this company, I would call them back even without the home warranty.

The worst. Lied about coming to appointments. Kept rescheduling. New receptionist. It's called customer service. I'd get a wrench and try and fix it myself before I called them

This company is HORRIBLE!!! Cancelled on me twice, both times last min after taking off a whole day! There work window is 11-3pm so a full days was wasted both times. Not to mention, secretary who handles the calls is so rude! She told me it was no big deal that they were cancelling. Stay away, too many good plumbers to waste your time with these guys
