We called the American Plumbing for a diagnosis on our AC unit which is less than 8 years old, based on the reviews on Yelp. Ryan showed up and it was explained to him the unit hasn't had any coolants in the past year. He did a quick pressure test and suggested the coolant must have been stolen and filled up the system with coolant. It was odd since we live in a very safe neighborhood with little to no crime, yet you'd think the 5 star company should know better. $800 plus a week later, the system was still not cooling. He came back to let us know there is a leak; something we initially thought would be the case! But he insisted this should have happened after he filled the system with coolant and it is a stress crack due to the pressure the coolant creates in the system! He suggested we go with either an isolation test to find the leak or to fill the system with ""Super Seal"". However none of the solutions were guaranteed to stop the leak in the future and there was heftly price tag assiciated to it. Also he never quoted us officially. Numbers were thrown at us verbally and we had to add up to come up with an assumed total cost in the end. That is when we said STOP and let's call for a second opinion. As it turned out, the leak was visible to begin with. It was on the section of the pipe running from the wall to the unit. We are glad we went with our gut feeling and did not chose the ""Super Seal"" solution! As it turned out that is the last resort and can do more harm than good to the unit.

Ryan came over and gave a bid for a full install of a new may tag HVAC System. He identified many issues from the last installer and even pointed out a serious fire hazard. Although we had some minor bumps in the road at first, Ryan and his crew kept to their word and completed the job. They do fantastic work! True to their word! All work was completed and done safely. thanks Ryan for all your hard work!!

I have used American Plumbing and HVAC several times and was satisified with their service. We've had 2 Hot water heaters installed by them as well as toilets fixed. Armando usually came to assist.

In January 2013 my mother called to tell me the downstairs powder room had a leak. I was out of town and I called American Plumbing and Armando came to help. The problem was fixed quickly, but the walls and floors were damp and required drying. Armando recommended we Quick Dry. What we didn't know was that Quick Dry is located in San Marcos and not only charges hourly (plus travel time) for each person sent to the house, but they charge premium for calls after 3pm.

Insurance denied the claim based on the input of Armando. Thanks Armando, I really appreciate the support you gave me plus the $5600 bill from Quick Dry, who you recommended, to dry 42 square feet!~

So great! I called them, got a quick response, Jesse came out to give me a quote, and he started the job the same day! He was so polite and took the time to explain everything to me. I didn't feel like he was rushing to get the job done or pushing me to do the more expensive job. Very honest. He also wore shoe covers on his own accord when he entered our house! Highly recommend them and I'll be using them again.

Called these guys based on the reviews here and they lived up to it. They came when they said, and Ryan went straight in and guessed the problem. He was very knowledgable and didn't try to rip me off. As a matter of fact, he gave me options of what I'd need to do. He estimated that I really didn't need a replacement for about a year. You know what? That made me trust him. He wasn't out for my money. He was out to do a job well done. These guys are trustworthy. A rare thing these days.

I called American Plumbing to have them fix a tuba like noise coming from our plumbing. Their prescribed solution was to replace a valve in the garage for over $200, which they were ""pretty sure"" would fix the issue. Or I could pay $50ish dollars for their totally wrong advice. I figured they were the experts, so let them try to fix the problem. $200 later, no solution. When I complained, no solution was offered. 6 months of enduring the noise with no solution from them, i replaced the flapper in my toilet myself. $5 and 5 minutes later, problem solved. No thanks to American Plumbing.

The isolation valve for my house broke. The handle snapped right off. I called American Plumbing and they answered the phone. So far so good. They said they'd be here at 10am. They arrived at 10am. The guy said it would take 1 hour. It took 45 minutes. No headache. Problem fixed. I know who to call next time.

I have used American Plumbing twice with great results and would not think to call anyone else. We first found them in the phone book in 2010 when our sewer system backed up due to wet ones being flushed. They came within 2 hours to Rancho Bernardo (on a Sunday) and quickly determined where the back-up was, unclogged it via snake and cleared another slow drain tub. They were at our house 45 minutes and left everything very clean. The bill was right around $100. To go and buy a snake and do it ourselves was $45 so this was a fair price in my opinion.

Two days ago we had a more serious plumbing problem when one of our 7 year old A/C units seized up and would not work. My husband called at six in the morning and they were available that day but we were going to be gone so we set up an appointment for two days later when we would be home. Ryan was our service provider and he called ahead to confirm he was coming, was extremely professional (in appearance and conduct) and explained everything he was doing. He was also well spoken and had obviously been well trained. We had a starter go out and he fixed it and serviced both units since we have never had them serviced. Our units are the builder grade type that all new houses come with and are not the best. We paid about $500 for parts, labor, servicing both upstairs and downstairs units for long term use and this also included a maintenance plan for future needed repairs. (With the age of these units we know future repairs will be needed). Our A/C is running great and we were very pleased with how fast the service was and the professionalism.

We had to replace our AC unit in 2006 and we needed an AC tune-up because it had started working intermittently. I called American Plumbing and was able to get an appointment the next day. As I requested, the service tech Ryan called when he was on the way and arrived on time. He informed me there was a small hole that caused a freon leak, gave me the estimate, and upon my approval, completed the repair in the next hour or so. I was happy to hear that they offer a 1-year warranty on their welds and actually ended up benefiting from that a few weeks ago when our AC stopped working again. We called the office and Vickie was very accommodating and scheduled Ryan to come the next day to diagnose it. Again, he was prompt and courteous and quickly discovered that 30-amp fuses were in our unit when they should have been 20 amps. He replaced them and then advised us to contact an electrician to check our wiring and breakers as a safety precaution--and this work was no charge since our unit was under warranty. I wish all business were this dependable, reliable, and customer-focused!

last month our air conditioner decided to stop blowing cold air right when it started to get hot. I decided to yelp some local businesses and found these guys! I called around 6pm the night we couldn't stand it anymore, and they were able to send Ryan out the next day at 10am. Even though our AC was indeed very broken, Ryan worked quickly, efficiently, and was very polite, on time, and fixed our AC within 2 hours.

I will definitely call and ask for Ryan again for any plumbing or air needs!
