Had an emergency on Saturday, drains clogged in the entire place. Toilets, sink, shower, washing machine, dishwasher, etc would not drain properly. American Plumbing came to the rescue. Gary was professional, smart, and fast. He had to remove one of our toilets to snake the drain. It turns out there was a clog down in the main sewer line (not within my unit) so he had to try to clear it from the street. He took care of the issue with a sense of humor, and resolve. Before he left, he'd fixed the problem, and cleaned up after himself. I could not have asked for a better plumber. I highly recommend these guys (even if it is not an emergency!).

PLEASE BE CAREFUL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY I was told that I had a broken sewer line that would cost over $8,400 to fix. Called out another company for 2nd opinion. I had no such thing, there was wipes in my pipe that was causing the blockage. I paid them to have a camera to inspect and to give a photo of the location of pipe. They did not produce photo.Because I had no broken pipe. I called back to speak with the Owner Mike to tell him what happened. and that I wanted a refund of $545 I paid them. He in turn tells me that I would have to have the company call him. I have dealt with this company for years and had no problems with the guys in the store. I trusted them. I want the public to be aware do not trust this Company with repairs. PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION

Read the reviews. Do your research before settling for American Plumbing. As a small business owner, I was trying to use someone local to take care of a sewer gas smell. Had a smoke test done for a bad sewer smell that would come and go, long story short, the service tech/plumber left duct tape on the vent pipe after he sealed it up for the smoke test. It was sealed up for 13 days when I had backed up sewer gas worse than I'd ever smelled, for about 5 hours. Previously it would come and go for 10-20 minutes. According to the owner, this wouldn't back up smell inside at all.....since there were other vent pipes that would vent the gas. I've had two other plumbers tell me the opposite. So take this for what it's worth, maybe he's right, maybe his guys weren't paid enough to take the tape off a vent pipe. Or maybe the whole company is just lazy? My opinion of course, but I'd wish I'd have read all the reviews before I hired them. Go put duct tape on your vent pipe and see if it stinks after a couple days.

Yesterday, I had a job scheduled with American Plumbing to change the water valve in my daughter's apartment. Ricky, the technician, called my daughter at 8:43 AM to let her know that he would be at the apartment in 15 minutes. After getting off the phone with him, she called him back at 8:45 AM to let him know that the notice on the elevator said that the water would be shut off at 10 AM, not 9 AM, so if this would interfere with his work, he might not be able to start working until 10 AM (American Plumbing coordinated this with the HOA). He let her know that was fine and the gate logged him entering at 9 AM sharp. Multiple times throughout working, Ricky would have to go back down to the car because he """"grabbed the wrong tools"""" and instead of using the elevator to get up and down from the 4th floor, he used the stairs each time. I had other contractors working on the unit and am a contractor myself. The other contractors told me they saw Ricky sitting in his car for more than 30 minutes at a time, while he was running the clock and billing us for the time spent to """"change the water valve"""". We even cut the drywall to give easy access to the valve, which was in an open closet for a repair that should have taken less than an hour. At 11:43 AM, Ricky told us that he has to bill us for 3 hours and 30 minutes because we were 3 minutes over the 3-hour time, even though the gate log has him entering at 9 AM, which means that from 9 AM to 11:43 AM he would have """"worked"""" for 2 hours and 43 minutes. This was an extra one hundred dollars at least. When we called his supervisor, Chris, to discuss the issue with billing, he said that he believed Ricky and that their policy is to invoice the amount that the technician said he worked. My daughter also called Chris and he told her that his technicians only bill customers for the time that they worked and they have GPS in their cars and he could have Ricky call her to discuss. When she refused, as she felt more comfortable speaking to the supervisor himself, Chris told her that her father must have been incorrect and that the GPS on the car will confirm the hours Ricky worked, EVEN THOUGH the gate log (which is automatically inputted from the time that a vehicle crosses the gate) clearly stated 9 AM. First off, this is extremely unprofessional for a supervisor to not address an issue and refer a customer to the technician instead of communicating with their technician separately. Second of all, a company who charges by-the-hour rates should not be able to scam people and call them liars when there are specific logged records that clearly show the time that their technician entered the community. Even if their technician entered through the gate at 9 AM, it would have taken him at least 5-15 minutes to get everything upstairs and begin working. My daughter was in the unit and said that he disappeared multiple times throughout the time when he was supposed to be on the clock, and it makes no sense that he would take the stairs up and down from the 4th floor unless it was to consume more time. The policy and processes conducted by this company are extremely dishonest and corrupt. My daughter is 9 months pregnant and supporting herself, and these people are trying to steal from her. We paid the technician because we are honest people and when my daughter told Chris that he replied with """"well we are also an honest company that collects what we have worked for"""". But when my daughter was willing to offer him proof that their own technician did not enter the community gate until 9 AM, he refused to accept. When my daughter called back this morning, Chris told her that the """"extra time"""" I am referring to could also be accounted for by the technician writing up the ticket and leaving the community. So now we are being charged an additional 30 minutes for the technician to write up the ticket? Does not make sense. Completely dishonest, unprofessional, and corrupt. I am very sorry that we used this company and thought that their 4-star rating would cause for honest work.

Dishonest, rude customer service. Beware of this company, they give you a lowball hourly price to earn your business and then tack on a mysterious half hour. As protocol in my building security called me at 9:14 to let me know the plumber had arrived. The job was done at 10:06,(Kitchen Faucet installation). Plumber proceeds to bill me for an hour and a half. When asked why he said he started at 9. When I showed him my phone the time security called him in he then backtracked and said security had him waiting. I called to complain and was promised a call back, and of coursed haven't received one. I hope they put that extra $43 to good use because they have lost my business!

After putting a camera in the pipes, I was told that my pipes looked perfect. They showed me pictures of the perfect pipes. Thank you for be so honest. I highly recommend American plumbing!!

I hired American Plumbing to replace my hot water heater. My husband and I both spoke to Mike prior to the installation . We both told Mike we preferred to solder the pipes and there was no mention of an up charge until the plummer arrived. I agreed to pay the up charge quoted by the plumber and the hot water heater was installed.  Including the soldering up charge and cheap plastic overpriced ($45.00) water pan, my bill came to $1273.00. When I went to pay the plumber, I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip. American Plumbing's software recommended a $200.00 """"minimum tip"""" for their plummer's service (%15)!!!  I was shocked and embarrassed that I would be expected to leave a $200.00 tip for an employee who I assume was being paid well for his services by his employer .  The plumber wanted to enter my house without a mask despite me giving him the courtesy of wearing a mask and telling him due to health concerns, I needed to be careful to protect myself from covid. I would not allow the plumber to enter the inside of my house without a mask. The plumber  eventually agreed to wear a mask inside my house but proceeded to walked through my house with wet boots and no boot covers. A rusty puddle of water was left in my driveway that I had to clean after the plumber left.  The plumber was on time and very polite but this was not exceptional service and certainly not tip worthy (let alone a $200.00 tip or greater) as suggested by American Plumbing.  This company's unfriendly customer service policy of asking for a very large unjustified tip for their employee made me really uncomfortable and put me in an embarrassing situation with their plumber.  Due to this company's business practices of providing an incomplete qoute and less than friendly customer service , I would not recommend this company. I do not plan to use this company again in the future.   Sent via the Samsung Galaxy S8+, an AT&T 5G Evolution capable smartphone

Jules R you got lucky because American Plumbing should be a criminal organization. We needed a new Tankless Water heater due to the previous unit not working. We purchased a new unit plus a filter which is apparently recommended by the manufacturer which is fine i'm no expert I trust their judgement. The day we were waiting for AP(american plumbing) to arrive for installation we knew there were some extra charges for example my unit was $250+ $75 for filter plus $207 for labor which is a joke because the man doing the job kept stopping to go downstairs to his truck to get more tools he would need to do his job. That shows me your not prepared to do your work if you stopped several times to grab tools. Without him knowing I put my iPhone's timer on from the moment he began working timer was set for 2 hours. Because as far as I'm concerned I shouldn't have to pay for your time of arrival which is what he and the company did, I also shouldn't have to pay for you to smoke a cigarette while your looking for tools. Finally when he finished the job with exactly 45 mins to spare the unit didn't turn on he finally realized he made a mistake with the wiring ( how convenient seeing as though he's charging me for labor by the hour). After fixing the wiring he still had about 30 mins left. After he finished he went on ahead and let me know he will start the paperwork, didn't even check if the unit was actually heating up the water. While he was doing the paper work i was testing my water myself in my kitchen sink. I was relieved we have hot water again, well that was short lived until my wife and I noticed our water pressure was lower than usual. We contacted AP to advise them of whats going on, after finally getting them to come out again to inspect everything that was done to be sure it was functioning properly. The man they sent out to start off seemed like he was unaware of what he actually does for a living. He is not up to date with water heating technology, he kept trying to do what criminals do best cover their asses so they're not held liable for anything that went wrong. The man kept on saying how the company he works for was stupid for even selling us and I quote """" piece of crap"""" tankless water heater. Well that threw me for a loop because they(AP) made me believe that this was the best way to save money on water bills, also it is the best brand out Titan as far as tankless water heaters go. Well his idea for a solution is to take back the unit they installed go and buy our own and if the problem continues then we are on our own. I find it odd that prior to the job my water pressure was perfect to barely having pressure after installing a so called new unit. I got hit for over $500 money that should go to a more honest company I learned my lesson, next time go with what you know Rotor Rooter they actually know what they're doing. So to anyone thinking of hiring American Plumbing I suggest you think twice about it. It's not worth getting taken advantage of and over charged.
