Yesterday, I had a job scheduled with American Plumbing to change the water valve in my daughter's apartment. Ricky, the technician, called my daughter at 8:43 AM to let her know that he would be at the apartment in 15 minutes. After getting off the phone with him, she called him back at 8:45 AM to let him know that the notice on the elevator said that the water would be shut off at 10 AM, not 9 AM, so if this would interfere with his work, he might not be able to start working until 10 AM (American Plumbing coordinated this with the HOA). He let her know that was fine and the gate logged him entering at 9 AM sharp. Multiple times throughout working, Ricky would have to go back down to the car because he """"grabbed the wrong tools"""" and instead of using the elevator to get up and down from the 4th floor, he used the stairs each time. I had other contractors working on the unit and am a contractor myself. The other contractors told me they saw Ricky sitting in his car for more than 30 minutes at a time, while he was running the clock and billing us for the time spent to """"change the water valve"""". We even cut the drywall to give easy access to the valve, which was in an open closet for a repair that should have taken less than an hour. At 11:43 AM, Ricky told us that he has to bill us for 3 hours and 30 minutes because we were 3 minutes over the 3-hour time, even though the gate log has him entering at 9 AM, which means that from 9 AM to 11:43 AM he would have """"worked"""" for 2 hours and 43 minutes. This was an extra one hundred dollars at least. When we called his supervisor, Chris, to discuss the issue with billing, he said that he believed Ricky and that their policy is to invoice the amount that the technician said he worked. My daughter also called Chris and he told her that his technicians only bill customers for the time that they worked and they have GPS in their cars and he could have Ricky call her to discuss. When she refused, as she felt more comfortable speaking to the supervisor himself, Chris told her that her father must have been incorrect and that the GPS on the car will confirm the hours Ricky worked, EVEN THOUGH the gate log (which is automatically inputted from the time that a vehicle crosses the gate) clearly stated 9 AM. First off, this is extremely unprofessional for a supervisor to not address an issue and refer a customer to the technician instead of communicating with their technician separately. Second of all, a company who charges by-the-hour rates should not be able to scam people and call them liars when there are specific logged records that clearly show the time that their technician entered the community. Even if their technician entered through the gate at 9 AM, it would have taken him at least 5-15 minutes to get everything upstairs and begin working. My daughter was in the unit and said that he disappeared multiple times throughout the time when he was supposed to be on the clock, and it makes no sense that he would take the stairs up and down from the 4th floor unless it was to consume more time. The policy and processes conducted by this company are extremely dishonest and corrupt. My daughter is 9 months pregnant and supporting herself, and these people are trying to steal from her. We paid the technician because we are honest people and when my daughter told Chris that he replied with """"well we are also an honest company that collects what we have worked for"""". But when my daughter was willing to offer him proof that their own technician did not enter the community gate until 9 AM, he refused to accept. When my daughter called back this morning, Chris told her that the """"extra time"""" I am referring to could also be accounted for by the technician writing up the ticket and leaving the community. So now we are being charged an additional 30 minutes for the technician to write up the ticket? Does not make sense. Completely dishonest, unprofessional, and corrupt. I am very sorry that we used this company and thought that their 4-star rating would cause for honest work.

This is worse service I got in my life, please don't waste your time with this company, they are not professional,it is a shame...!

Showed up on time, very friendly and very honest. I was told previously about damage to the pipes under my house and I called American Plumbing to repair the damage. After putting a camera in the pipes, I was told that my pipes looked perfect. They showed me pictures of the perfect pipes. Thank you for be so honest. I highly recommend American plumbing!!

PLEASE BE CAREFUL. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY I was told that I had a broken sewer line that would cost over $8,400 to fix. Called out another company for 2nd opinion. I had no such thing, there was wipes in my pipe that was causing the blockage. I paid them to have a camera to inspect and to give a photo of the location of pipe. They did not produce photo.Because I had no broken pipe. I called back to speak with the Owner Mike to tell him what happened. and that I wanted a refund of $545 I paid them. He in turn tells me that I would have to have the company call him. I have dealt with this company for years and had no problems with the guys in the store. I trusted them. I want the public to be aware do not trust this Company with repairs. PLEASE GET A SECOND OPINION

Plumber I sent to fix a clogged toilet told me to call a company with a camera to check the cause of the clog. I called American Plumbing ,They originally went out and told me they would need to send a camera down the roof ($325) to which I agreed, but instead the plumber took upon himself to use a snake to see if it would work. He must have pushed whatever was there a bit farther and water started to go down, they tapped on a charge of $95 and charged a total of $425. Costly but if it solved the issue all would end there. Problem is, hours later the water started coming back up, I called American Plumbing once more. Now they decided to send someone with a camera to do what they originally were sent out to do and charge another $450!!! The fact that they were paid $420 to do NOTHING, fell on deaf ears and cockilly told me no matter who I send out now will charge me so I may as well pay therm. DISHONEST company and I have been dealing with plumbers for 11years. NEVER paid almost $1000 to unclog a toilet!!! If you think locksmiths and movers scam people, BEWARE of American Plumbing.

Not sure what the complaints are here especially if your just buying parts. I walked in, asked if they replaced Valley parts, showed the salesman (mind you he didn't even look over the part) came back with EXACTLY what I needed and paid well below what I was expecting to pay plus he did it all in less than 5 minutes. If your looking for hard to find parts and great pricing this is definitely your place to find it!

Read the reviews. Do your research before settling for American Plumbing. As a small business owner, I was trying to use someone local to take care of a sewer gas smell. Had a smoke test done for a bad sewer smell that would come and go, long story short, the service tech/plumber left duct tape on the vent pipe after he sealed it up for the smoke test. It was sealed up for 13 days when I had backed up sewer gas worse than I'd ever smelled, for about 5 hours. Previously it would come and go for 10-20 minutes. According to the owner, this wouldn't back up smell inside at all.....since there were other vent pipes that would vent the gas. I've had two other plumbers tell me the opposite. So take this for what it's worth, maybe he's right, maybe his guys weren't paid enough to take the tape off a vent pipe. Or maybe the whole company is just lazy? My opinion of course, but I'd wish I'd have read all the reviews before I hired them. Go put duct tape on your vent pipe and see if it stinks after a couple days.

NEVER again! I used this company for many years and never had a big issue with them so naturally when i had a faucet to replace i called them. I know to buy a faucet rather then use their items because of the price difference. I forget the plumber's name but he comes in and replaces the faucet. afterwards telling me he """"upgraded"""" the drain line (probably using the wrong word but if i knew the right terms i would also know how to do it myself) from plastic that came with the faucet to a metal one. My sink is the original sink from 50 years ago so it is caste iron. I asked if he saw any rust and he said he did but seemed pretty cavalier about however he did write on the receipt there was a lot of rust but that was of course after the job was done and i thought everything was okay so i went on with my life and was happy, for a few weeks. About a month after the repair i notice rust in the sink, yes it took a few weeks to get them out bc i was sick and had a lot of doctor appointments so finally when the plumber came back he told me what to do. He couldn't do it for me since it was not a repair and it was a simple enough fix so i did what he said. When i took out the drain line there was a bunch of rust on it. Enough time passed that i forgot that this was an """"upgrade"""" and i called Moen about getting a replacement part so this is my fault but i ended up losing the warranty because of the unapproved part and i had to pay for a new drain line. At this point i am only mildly annoyed with the plumber because I am wondering why the plumber would have installed the rusty pipe since the Moen rep to whom i sent pictures of the pipe said there was too much rust to be that new so i am thinking someone switched out parts at Home Depot and the plumber just didn't see the rust When i called to complain i spoke to a manager who wanted to see the pictures too which i sent him and he had the plumber call me the next day. The plumber told me that he told me i had a lot of rust before he installed the faucet he must be telling the truth because he also told me he has perfect memory so i guess it is again my fault HOWEVER! i am one of the cheapest people i know and i would never have had him install the faucet if A. I knew the sink was extremely rusty and B. Okay'ed a metal pipe since i was told since i was a small child rust spreads and btw. there was not a speck of rust from the other pipe in the sink. My advise is if you use this company know EXACTLY what they are doing or have them explain themselves before the work is done. The manager i spoke to after all was said and done wanted to know i wanted them to do after the fact. There is nothing they could do. I explained i now have to replace the sink, if i do that i am replacing the vanity and if i have to do that i have to do the floor since they didn't tile the entire floor so now the $70 faucet is going to cost me thousands to fix. When i had to explain this to the manager he told he just replace the sink. Yeah i am going to be able to take a a 50 year old sink in a 50 year old vanity top. I relied on this company to take care of me, i have recommended them and used them for years and i feel sick that i was treated this way. If he told me the sink was that bad i might just have put in a new sink and then have him come back to install the faucet but he wanted to make the money that day but after this experience has ended any good feelings. The picture i posted is from about 2 months after the install and the line is already getting eaten away from the rust.

The plumbers at this company have all been wonderful and I want to express our gratitude for their hard work at our house. We've always been happy with the repairs and things are working much better now. The only criticism and reason for 4 stars is the office/phone etiquette when you call to make an appointment. The gentleman who typically answers the phone during normal business hours made it very difficult to schedule a mid-afternoon appointment. We both have to be at work very early in the morning (before 7 am) and it took quite a bit of effort to schedule/confirm an appointment at 3pm. While it's understandable that plumbers hit unexpected issues and delays at various jobs, it doesn't happen every day. I felt very frustrated after talking to their office worker because he was rather rude, passive aggressive and condescending. While the plumbers do great work, I hope their office manager can be more accommodating in the future and realize that customers have jobs too. If you want the business/money, you should be willing to work with your customers' schedules and do whatever it takes to help people and also give your plumbers the work opportunities.

American Plumbing came out within a couple hours after our call, for what I considered a very unpleasant semi-emergency. Travis was very professional and polite, corrected the issue quickly. Price was exactly as quoted. No complaints! Will use again.
