dispatched from AHS, saying that my hot/cold water dispenser is not covered under the contract, since it is connected to filtration system. But how can a hot/cold water dispenser not connected into a Water filtration/purification system in most of the house configuration.
2nd opinion contractor actually disagreed with their diagnosis, but they insisted on their diagnosis and refused any repair.

Mario fixed my clogged sink after my husband tried for days. If you need a plumber I recommend him.

Worst plumbing experience ever! Guy didn't want to be here from the get go! Began lecturing as soon as I asked him questions about a valve problem! Whole visit was over in less than fifteen minutes. Good plumber probably but never got to find out.

I had a leaky toilet, and Mario with American Plumbing & Drain was assigned through American Home Shield. Mario promptly came over, and replaced the wax ring within 15 minutes. Excellent service, couldn't have asked for anything better!

I read these amazingly bad reviews and can only say that while Mario comes off a bit surly at first and is a curmudgeon in general, he is not over-charging you and he's a very good plumber. In my newly purchased older home, he fixed my constantly plugging toilet line by augering it, this is a very dirty, labor-intensive process and he cleaned up after himself and took care of it beautifully. He also at my request went under the house to check on an open older drain ....mind you he didn't want to do this and gave me a bit of grief since I didn't believe him that it didn't need fixing, but the point is he DID this quite nasty long crawl under the house for me. Months later he went out of his territory to help my 88 year old parents in Cupertino which is not usually his area of service, to offer a second opinion on an $88k plumbing re-do quote they had received. He pointed out it just simply needed a new washer and the plumbing lines were fine, the main line was not cracked, much of the plumbing had already been done in 2012. I can only say that the other company was totally taking advantage of my parents age and Mario most certainly did not! My mother had a hard time believing that no more plumbing work was needed and he was amazingly patient with her. My one comment is that you generally have to wait about a week to get him as he is quite booked up. He does prefer to work via text message. But he's come when he said he would every time.

PROBLEM 1:
He gave me an arrival window of 11:00-1:30. He no-showed. He then ignored my ""delivered"" text @ 1:42 asking for an ETA. He finally called at 2:40 to say that he ""just got my text."" No apology for being late or ignoring my text. He then said he would be here in ""20 minutes."" Over 35 minutes later, he still had not shown up! I had to pick up my kids from school at this point. I then had to text him again to tell him I'd be back home in a few minutes. TERRIBLY IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR!
PROBLEM 2:
After unapologetically arriving over an hour late for an appointment with a 2.5-hour window, he outright REFUSED to fix my toilet's ""partial flushing"" problem because he said that ""he doesn't do that."" What? It's a darn toilet and he's a plumber! I paid to get my toilet fixed . . . and he refused! I had already researched the problem. The rim jets are clogged, resulting in too little water entering the bowl to complete the flush. He refused to clean the rim jets! His ""solution"" was for me to ""buy a $1,000 Toto toilet."" This guy is an absolute joke of a ""professional.""
PROBLEM 3:
He's EXTREMELY rude and curt. I literally had to ask him to ""please let me finish"" because he kept cutting me off every time I opened my mouth. He wouldn't even entertain the possibility of trying to fix it himself and was utterly unwilling to discuss any possible solutions. He couldn't wait to run out the door.
PROBLEM 4:
I still need my toilet fixed! I expect AHS (my home warranty company that assigned this ""professional"") to reach out to me ASAP.

He is a very dishonest man. If you catch him in his own lie, he will leave you out in the cold and hang up on you or not answer/ return your calls. He was dispatched to my home by Am Home Shield to replace my 1/2hp garbage disposal. My fault that I trusted he would replace it with the same. A month later, I was checking something under the sink and I noticed my garbage disposal has been downgraded to 1/3. I called Am Plumbing and he angrily said ""you think I'll remember you?"" and hung up. I called Am Home Shield to complain about this but that's another story.
There was another incident when he said he could fix a plumbing issue made the appointment and didn't show up. When I asked what his ETA was, he said I didn't understand that he said he couldn't fix the problem. This man is toxic. Just stay away and choose someone else.

Ummm... so I am not sure how someone like Mario (who IS ""American Plumbing and Drain"", make no mistake) manages to somehow still get business.
If you would like to be belittled, condescended to, bullied, argued with, offended by, and under-serviced by someone you are relying on to get your interior plumbing complications sorted out - Mario is your guy!
If, on the other hand, you are a reasonable person with legitimate ""plumbing service"" needs, who needs help, and who doesn't want to argue endlessly with someone who is WHOLLY UNQUALIFIED to do his job, who is dismissive and argumentative, lax in his actual work (of which there was precious little) and defensive about his prior oversights and ""mistakes"" - [I should probably say ""egregious negligence"" if this goes to small claims which I will determine based upon my next water and gas bill] - then you should for sure have him come over to your house and annoy you, as he did me.
Long story short, this person should not be in this line of business, and you are making a HUGE mistake by signing up for his services - and by ""his services"" I of course also mean ""American Plumbing and Drain"" of San Mateo.
Here's your 1/1000 negative reviews you mentioned, @Mario!
I

I wish there's an option for DO NOT EVER HIRE instead of giving even 1 star.
Mario is absolutely RUDE, unprofessional and closes any request service tickets without doing any work. He was assigned to our Service Request by AHS. He dismissed a leak we had with the water heater, now there's water and damage everywhere. We called him to come back, he showed up, offended our tenant with ""you're the tenant, why do you care about fixing the damage"", and left without fixing the leak. This is beyond unprofessional, unethical and evil. Please do not waste your time or money, take your business to someone else who's more worthy of your trust.

I have American Home Shield as my home warranty company.
They insist on using a plumbing company called American Plumbing & Drain although I have complained many times about the owner and sole employee, Mario.
Mario first came to my house for plumbing work back in 2018 for a backed up sink. He was rude and when the service was complete, I received an email from AHS to review him. When I gave him a bad review, he proceeded to text my cell telling me how rude I was. Have you ever had a company text you to counter a review? I told him he was very unprofessional and to lose my number. At that point I reached out to AHS to note in my account that I no longer want him assigned to me.
Fast forward to this week. I needed my faucet replaced, so I reached out to AHS and the same contractor was assigned to the job even though I complained in 2018 to never use this company again. I thought ok, why not. It's just a faucet replacement. Mario came on 06-22 and while my husband was home, he replaced the faucet. Everything seemed fine until today when we went to run the dishwasher and the kitchen flooded because he disconnected it.
I called Mario and explained the situation. He told me that he thought I wasn't using the dishwasher. Why in the world would he think we don't use our dishwasher? I was stunned! He said he won't be able to come out for another week. I explained that I need him now and if he couldn't come I would just reach out to the insurance company. He told me to go ahead and call them and hung up in my face. I called him again, and he hung up.
I then called AHS and was told that they can send a different company out but that I would still have to pay. I asked for a manager and was told there are none. He indicated that he would have to request the same guy Mario come back. Out of desperation I said ok and was put on hold. The customer service rep came back and told me that he refuses to come back to my location. AHS escalated the situation and said in 48 hours someone will be in touch to see if I am approved to have someone else come out. So here I am now waiting with a flooded kitchen.
I asked AHS why they continue to do business with the worst company in the Bay Area. They told me that there are not enough customer complaints about him.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND BOYCOTT MARIO. HE IS A BIGOT AND IT SHOWS. HE SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS.
