Dealing with pipe, gas, and plumbing issues is not ideal no matter the circumstances. Having two separate plumbing problems within a matter of weeks during a pandemic only adds to the stress of finding a plumber that you can trust. We were so fortunate to find Austin and Tyler and American Pipe Bursting.

First we discovered a leak in our water line which left us and our new baby without hot water. We initially got a quote from a different plumber who listed various problems we could face, including the possibility of having to run an entire new line to the other side of the house. This was anxiety provoking to say the least. American Pipe Bursting was our second call. Austin was reassuring, advised how to keep our water running in the meantime, and quickly assessed the situation. He gave us different options depending on how we wanted to address the problem and never tried to up-sell us. He was also able to get started quickly and finished the work within the timeframe he described without any surprise charges. He communicated well and established that he was someone to trust.

Within a month we discovered a gas leak. No heat with a young baby is not a good thing! We called Austin and he was able to come out faster than any other company we contacted. He gave us a quote and found details that PG&E missed. He and his brother, Tyler, again, gave us multiple options and didn't pressure us to do more than was necessary. He also took the time to describe why he was choosing the particular materials and where the cost came from. They finished the work within the timeframe they described, coordinated with the city for an inspection and permit, and even followed up the next day to ensure our gas was turned on. When PG&E came out the representative said he'd been working for 30 years and Austin and Tyler's work was ""right up his alley"" and pointed out several details that were above and beyond.

The importance of finding a company that does excellent work, finishes in a reasonable time frame, and is run by someone who communicates cannot be overstated. Austin and Tyler are people who can be trusted. Needless to say American Pipe Bursting will be our company of choice going forward. They should be yours as well.

Austin did a great job for me. I was doing the tear out before my contractor arrived and the pipe to the angle valve crumbled. Water everywhere. On a Sunday. I called a couple of plumbers. He called back. He said he'd be there within the hour and he was. He replaced the hot, cold and toilet lines with fresh new beautiful pipes and valves. The emergency charge is a little hefty, but he returned my call and got there when he said he was going to and that's gold. Two days later the shower diverter fouled out and he did that on a regular call. Very reasonable especially for the amount of time he was there. He also gave me a hand a took the old toilet from the demo to my truck for me, just being a decent human being. Great guy, runs a great business. He has my plumbing business and referrals.

I contacted Austin to snake our sewer line which had gotten clogged. He took my call on his lunch break and was able to come out in a quick 45 minutes later. When I explained we had steep stairs which could be a challenge, he offered to do a free onsite assessment so we both had a better idea of the cost to do the work and I could make my decision of whether to use his company or not.

After the assessment, I decided to proceed with American Pipe Bursting given the price was reasonable ($255 for two workers due to the steep stairs). Austin and his brother were able to clean out the line and were kind, professional, and helpful throughout the whole process. They explained what they were doing and finding at various points of the process and patiently answered my questions. We discovered a second worker was not needed after all since the clean out could be accessed from the sidewalk so Austin apologized and gave me $40 off the camera inspection I scheduled for the next day. Austin conducted the inspection the next day and again, answered my questions, pointed out important findings, and offered recommendations of what to do if future plumbing issues arose.

I highly recommend this family-owned business and appreciate their commitment to performing high-quality work while treating their customers with respect and kindness.

I contacted Austin, owner of American Pipe Bursting, to replace the parts in a toilet tank, repair/replace leaky outdoor facet valves and repair and replace a section of a water pipe leaking through my kitchen ceiling. Austin is a confident and personable plumber, very good at explaining what needs to be done and completes the jobs taking care to be neat and not leave any mess. Although I did not get additional bids for these jobs, I do believe Austin's rates are very fair, reasonable and below what most plumbers would charge. His expertise is in sewer/drain replacement, drain cleaning and pipe inspections but he does make himself available to do other jobs. Austin is awesome! Call him.
