Was told by my plumber to have these guys come out first to pin point the issue. Service technician located the problem and thankfully confirmed that there were no leaks in the walls or under the house. Plumber was able to complete the work the next day w the info provided.

I had American Leak Detection out to find/confirm a suspected slab leak. The service rep, Fritz, was friendly and knowledgeable. Though I did not have them do the follow up work for the repair (having our regular plumber do the work), I was very satisfied with the detection service. Highly recommended!

I was referred to American Leak Detection from someone who had a very good experience with them and I am so glad I listened. I have a large jacuzzi/small pool that was leaking badly and my pool guy and I had no idea where the leak was stemming from. I called American Leak Detection and Fritz, the head guy came out right on time (thank you!) and within an hour he had tested the entire system and found the leak to be around the jets into the pool and was able to fix it on the spot! I was super relieved as I was expecting a major problem and bill to match. Not the case. He was efficient, thorough, and excellent at solving the problem. He even looked at another water feature that I have had 3 other leak people look at who couldn't offer any ideas to solve the water loss issue, and Fritz in minutes saw the solution. And it's fixable!

I would highly recommend this company and wish I had called them earlier - worth the money and peace of mind to now that the rest of the pool, it's pipes and system is sound. And I got the issue solved in one morning visit. Very pleased.

Also, noteworthy - this is a franchise, so I am referring to the business who services Santa Barbara/Goleta area.

I almost didn't call American Leak Detection because of a bad review on Yelp. But we used them in 2007 and were very satisfied so I went ahead and called. They gave us an appointment within a few days, were on time for the appointment, located the leak, and gave us a written estimate which was reasonable for what they have to do. They are returning in a few days to repair the leak and I expect they will do a good job. I recommend them without reservation

Excellent service and on time. I had an issue with my wood floor in the kitchen. Called a plumber to find a suspected leak. He checked under the sink and dishwasher and said it was probably the clean-out or under-slab. Suggested ALD who identified it as a dishwasher leak. After not using the dishwasher for a week the floor is settling down and all is well. I was ready to rip up the floor and slab to find the mystery leak but am so glad I didn't have to. Thank you ALD! Fritz L. runs a quality operation with honesty. If you suspect a leak his company's expertise is worth every penny! I would not hesitate to use or recommend him again.

Save your money. For $350.00 the KID walked around my pool for an hour, sticks some dye in certain places and says, yup found your leak. He used black caulk on the leak because he told me it only comes in black. Went out to check on him and he told me ""Yeah I think that black looks better than white"" So he lied. Then told me if I want white he would have to charge me. I wanted to save $100.00 and now I look at this ugly black patch job every day. Save yourself the frustration and stay away from these hacks.

Called MSM Pools in Moorpark. For $450.00 they come to your home for 3 hours, put wet suits on, get in your pool and pressure test all your pool equipment. For $100.00 more your pool actually gets tested for leaks the right way.

We had a bad leak that was soaking the carpet in one of our bedrooms. We contacted American Leak Detection and they sent someone over promptly and diagnosed the problem. They were able to complete the work on a weekend which was a godsend. Greg, the technician, was knowledgeable, and very skilled. Couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

Hard working , honest and prompt! I was having trouble with a toilet that I could not figure why it kept clogging up. I had called a plumbing service which I was quoted 1,400.00 dollars to dig up and inspect pipes into my back yard. This seemed a little severe for the situation, so I called American Leak to have a look. After measuring pressure , Fritz the technician sent to inspect the problem determined there was not a pressure problem. He was perplexed and decided to remove the toilet finding the culprit. A child had decided to flush a pencil down the toilet. It was hard to figure out as you could snake it but things remained getting stuck. Creative thinking saved the day. Thanks Fritz for your out of the box thinking. I liked keeping my 1,400.00.

When you think your swimming pool is leaking water, you panic!

I called 2 different leak detection companies. With the first company, I was told that a technician would not come out if the leak was less than a quarter of an inch per day. So I called American Leak Detection for a second opinion. I specifically asked if they ""can detect any amount of water leak"", as opposed to requiring a minimum like the first company I called. She did not say anything about a minimum amount of water loss before a technician was to come out, and was actually very eager to send a technician out. She spent no time explaining the technique they planned to use to detect the amount of leak, or mentioning that sometimes water loss through evaporation occurs. Instead, she said she would send a technician out that same day.

A technician named Andy came out and I was far from happy with his work. He did start out by testing the plumbing and pipes, but I lost more confidence in his competency when he didn't have any answers to some of my questions. For example, there were suspicious brown stains in one of the PVC outlets, which I wondered was a sign of a cracked PVC pipe. He had no explanation for the brown stains, and like I said, didn't seem to know what was going on. When Andy left, his diagnosis was that there was no leak. However, I am confident that there is a leak as I continue to have to refill my pool on a frequent basis. To make matters worse, Andy was so sloppy in his work, that he did not put the screws in the grill at the deep end back completely after he removed the grill to check for a leak. Because the screw is protruding out, it tore up my Kreepy Krawly pool vacuum! I called American Leak Detection back, spoke to someone named Guy about my complaints, and to this day I STILL have not heard back from the company with a follow-up.

In the end, I still paid the bill for the ""work"" even though it was sub-par at best. Potential customers beware! Make sure your pool leak is more than a quarter of an inch per day before you call American Leak Detection to come out and waste your time and money. Needless to say, American Leak Detection is not a reputable company for detecting your pool leak.
