We had American Leak Detection out to fix a slab leak, spent 1100 for the repair. A few days later we realize the water is still leaking from the same spot. Called to get a technician out again, on the phone the guy tells me its another leak and not the same one as before. How he can gather this from talking to me on the phone and not seeing it with his own eyes I don't know. They come back out to say we have to pay for a whole new reroute job like before. Not only did they not take responsibility for missing the leak to begin with and not fixing it but they failed to return to fix the problem the second time. By the time the technician called us back we had already had another plumber out to fix the leak. Untrustworthy and not reliable. Look else where for your plumbing needs.

After diagnosing a hot spot and wall moisture as a slab leak, Mastercare Protection referred us to ALD. My after hours call reached answering service, but within 15 min got a call back and inspection appt next day - Fri before 3-day wknd!
The ALD guys (Tommy, Sean) were thorough and professional, even showing up next day (Sat) after the earliest available water reroute appt was originally proposed for following week. Quote was fair but after job proved to require less than expected, they lowered the bill - not something common from contractors.
Then, after the line was rerouted thru the walls (fixed), in the testing phase they found we also had a faulty, leaking valve in our auto pool filler; recommended we have our pool service check and fix.
Very happy with ALD service and highly recommend them.

I have used American Leak Detection quite a few times in the past and always will in the future. Jody and Felix have gone over and above to help me. Before and after hours someone has answered the phone, OR I've received a phone call back. Love these guys, I would definitely recommend.

Called on a Saturday to at try and set-up an appointment. Couldn't believe I got an answering service! The service said they are closed on weekends. How can you use a business that's closed on Saturdays? I'm not taking a day off from work to wait around for them to show up.

Not happy... I payed $300 for this company to come out and tell me i had a leak in my skimmer and needed to replace the entire thing. They wanted to charge me $1900 to come out and replace it..not to mention they would need to rip up my stone, they did say the would try and save my stone but i would need to cement them back in. I had TWO different POOL companies come out and tell me that was not the case at all. Both companies said I had another thing i needed to replace...they both did pressure tests and dye tests. I guess if your having pool repairs done..go with a pool company. Im so mad I wasted $300 on this company! don't waste your time or $

Back early last month, I thought I had a water leak inside my house in the kitchen. The floor felt very hot in the kitchen and also in the living room. Then I started looking for into a leak detection company and made a few calls. I called American Leak Detection, the guy that answered my call was very polite and he also described very well what would be the process ( I think his name was Felix very nice guy), after he explained to me we set the an appointment, and he sent one of his technicians and his name was Jody and he came with his brother John. They were very nice guys. They arrived on time, they even called me when they were on their way. They looked very clean and they explained to me how long the inspection would take. At the time of the inspection they started to use some equipment and went into my house thoroughly, they explained to me what they doing and how they can find the location of the leak without even making any holes. They found the exact location of the leak and marked it for me. They took approximately no more than one hour. They wrote a report for me and also they gave me some prices for repairs. I needed the leak fixed asap so they made a call to their office and put me on the schedule for the very next day. They came out and did the work for me and they did an amazing job. They were very clean and treated my house with respect. After they finished they gave me another report and also told me that the repair was guaranteed for 5 years. Im very happy with these guys, they were so professional. I highly recommend them if you have a leak. I don't understand the negative reviews because they were awesome. Knock on wood, if I ever have a leak in the future, I know who to call.

They came out and were initially unable to determine the location of the leak without additional personnel. They returned three days later and it took two calls before I could get an answer as to what they found. After excavating and capping the lines in the area where they claimed they found the leak, the meter still shows the water running. Now they won't call back, or schedule another visit to determine where the leak actually is. My client already paid them.

We had a plumbing leak and didn't know where it was located so we contacted American leak detection. They came out and pressure tested the plumbing in the walls and didn't find anything , then they used there equipment to test the slab and said we have a leak under or in the slab . They marked the spot and said the leak was in the marked box where they put the tape on the floor. We paid $200 and relived them. We had a plumber from another company come over and cut out and dig through the slab floor and didn't find anything going on in that area marked ? They filled the hole and charged us $800 to come out and patch the hole . We called American leak det. And told them that there was nothing in the area they marked on the floor and we found the leak in the wall from a pipe they pressure tested previously.. We made a call to see how American leak det. Was going to handle this mistake . They refunded the $200 but would not take any responsibility for the extra money we had to pay for there mistake $800. If you are planning to use this company to find a leak I would highly recommend getting a second opinion after American leak det. Finds a leak. It cost us $800 meeting these guys. Not happy and will never recommend there services to anyone.

1 star only because they fixed my problem. I own 2 homes and had the water line break in both in the last 2 weeks. I used american leak detectors in my primary residence for the first one, totally awesome, found a tough to find leak and got it fixed with very detailed billing.

My other house in Carlsbad I was referred by my normal plumber and having used american leak detection just the week before I was confident I would be treated well. Wrong. I was on business travel so my wife called they came out met our tenant and called my wife and gave her a high estimate. Trusting them she said go ahead. They detected (although we told them where it was since it was obvious water coming through the concrete) and fixed the issue in 4 hours but charged $2100. We gasped especially since the same exact issue but a hard to find leak versus this obvious one we paid half the cost. I called talked to the technician he explained what they did and was very straight forward, so I asked why so much. He simply answered that was the price. I called the office and asked for the invoice to be emailed to me so I could figure out where all my money went. The invoice was simply the charge no break out of man hours. I was angry and asked a contractor for a second opinion, he confirmed that the price was easily 2x higher than normal. I called the office and asked to talk to the owner, not available, the manager, not available.

I will not ever use them again. Definitely beware.

Called them at 7:45AM to diagnose a water leak in my garage. They were on-site at 10AM, had the leak identified and fixed, and were done by noon. Polite, courteous professional technician and staff at the office. Recommend.
