Checked their contractor's license and the status (as of today 12/19/2022) is listed as ""inactive"". This would automatically void their liability insurance, if they had any. The state contractor's board lists their liability insurance as ""none"". (No work comp, either).

Had a leak in our in-ground swimming pool for a year or so. About 1/2 inch/24 hours. Normal evaporation is 1/4 inch or less. Could not find it. Chris Long from ALD came here....did some testing and found and fixed the leak in one hour. It was in the pool light niche. I had done my dye test with the light in place...and it showed nothing. His dye test, with the light removed...showed the leak. He also found a small leak in the back of the skimmer and fixed it at no charge. Chris is professional and friendly. Last week, I contacted American Leak Detection to schedule an appointment for a mysterious leak I thought I heard inside my linen closet wall. I was delighted to receive an appointment the following week. Kyle Cummings arrived promptly with a happy disposition and tools in hand. After checking all three bathrooms, he found the peculiar leak in the first floor pool room wall. Carefully removing small portions of sheet rock, he photographed the large black pipe and a copper line with the pesky leak. With each step, Mr. Cummings graciously explained the situation in terms I was able to comprehend! He was able to provide plumber recommendations to replace the copper line. Mr. Cummings is extraordinarily professional, well-trained and has impressive hearing that detected the exact location of the problem. He is also charming, experienced and especially courteous. I have stressed over this situation while recovering from major knee surgery and am completely confident my drip, drip problem will be history when the plumber arrives. We heard a very loud grinding sound in the middle of the night coming from our water heater. The next morning went out and saw a large pool of water next to the guest house. We called American Leak Detection and Jarrod came out that day and was here for 3 hours locating the leak which was coming from somewhere underneath that building. Chris also arrived and gave us some recommendations and a discount for their service. We didn't want them to dig up our flooring to locate the leak, so Chris suggested we have a plumber reroute the main line from our house to the guest house and just bypass the broken pipe. He shut off the water flow also. It could of been so much worse if they hadn't arrived so quickly and located the area the leak was coming from.

We moved here in 2018 and have worked VERY hard to put this house back together. Noticed the pool self filler running all the time but last summer was not a great swim summer and frankly I was afraid of the cost. Finally got a referral to a individual who could not squeeze us in and referred me to American Leak Detection...GREATEST MOVE since our move here! Chris was out in less than a week and pressure tested plumbing...no leak! YEA. Next was a crack on the wall of the pool...yep...almost a gallon per hour! Never realized the slow flow we had so could not warm pool. It's a bit daunting when the city informs you that you are using a higher-than-normal volume of water and you realize that the leak could be anywhere from the house to the meter which is located about 200 yards up the road. It took the ingenuity and technology of American Leak Detection to locate the precise place where a small section of PVC was the culprit. The technician was prompt, professional, friendly, and got the job done. I am appreciative and highly recommend this firm.
