DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE BECAUSE THEIR TECHNICIANS ARE INCAPABLE OF FINDING A SIMPLE SOURCE OF A LEAK.

This company was recommended by my plumber. We had a leak that appeared to be seeping up from the carpet.

The technician came out and performed an inspection and a written report. His report stated that the leak was coming from the nearby guest bathroom because the caulking was worn.

But when I replaced the caulking we continued to have the leak. I called the plumber to come back and he found that the leak WAS NOT from the bathroom but from a split line from my refrigerator. He fixed and guess what, NO LEAK! Had they come out in the first place, this would have been resolved

We called American Leak Detection back and asked for a refund because THEY FAILED to find the leak. (Their erroneous information cost a whopping $295!). After a week of phone tag, they refused and offered a ""courtesy"" credit of $75!! Really??!! What is the ""courtesy""?

What they lack in skills as leak detectors and in the area of customer service, I more than make up in social media. Rest assured I will be using every avenue to spread the word.

I had already dug a hole within a foot of where the leak turned out to be that filled up with water. No rocket science required to determine the leak was very nearby.

The first one put his flag about two away from my hole. After digging for hours under the flag and with no luck my wife called them again.

This time the technician put the flag within inches of where my hole was. I was informed that we should be grateful that they came out again because the industry standard is placing the flag within 6 feet of the leak. They claim success if the flag is within 3 feet of the leak, ""that is a 6 foot diameter hole"".

After paying $290.00 for supposed leak detection, they want to charge $150.00 per hour, minimum 2 hours to repair the leak. This technician estimated 3 hours to do the job and an additional 1 hour to come back the following day to turn the water back on at the meter. $840.00 so far and I am reasonably sure it would have been more than that.

The office advised my wife that they charge $150.00 to come back if they do not find the leak the first time and will charge the $290.00 if they determine there is no leak.

Don't waste your money.

Terrific response! We were headed out of town, with a leak sending water down the street. Joe at the American Leak Detection office sent out a worker first thing the morning after my call and fully explained how the leak would be found and, if I chose not to find another plumber, the worker could immediately fix the problem. I generally like to get three estimates, but time was of the essence, and Joe declared that their prices for repair are very competitive. The worker even came out the very day his wife went into labor and stayed until all was repaired. I was VERY happy with the service, from beginning to end--even the post-job paperwork sent in the mail was extremely professional and fully explained all that was done. I'd use American Leak Detection again in a heartbeat.

They are the Best!!! Scott was Great!!! He was very descriptive in how he located the leak. What I liked best was he explained everything as well as giving me knowledgeable about how to detect a leak and what to do next time. A repair I expected to cost thousands of $$$ only cost me about $300...Thank you Very Much American Leak Detectors You are the Bomb!!!

I am very pleased with American Leak Detection. They were very professional and helpful. Although they were not able to find the source of the problem. I appreciate all their help. Its hard because they are the 4th professional we had to inspect the issue and we are still unsure of the source. American leak detection at least confirmed the issue is not coming from our house, which at least gave me piece of mind because it is not something major we need to pay for. Now I can only hope HOA will do their job. Thank you American Leak Detection.

Scheduling the appointment with Hillel was a breeze and he was very friendly and helpful when chatting about our issue and their service. They came out to the house today and discovered our ""leak"" right away... it turned out to be quite simple, but I was happy to have some experts come out and give us a definitive answer instead of us trying to guess (we're just not that handy, I'm afraid). They even charged us less since it was fairly simple and they didn't have to bust out the big guns (aka the fancy leak detection tools). Highly recommend!

American Leak Detection was called to my home because I could hear water running but could not find the source. They used air in the plumbing so they could hear the leak location better, and marked the leak location on the wall. They also traced the pipes in the leak area. My only complaint is that for $295 they could have traced all of the pipes in my floor for future reference. Aside from this quibble, I would recommend this company.

I have similar experience as some other Yelpers! I called American Leak Detection to ask for help to detect a slab leak. The staff gave me some instructions over the phone to do some simple preliminary tests. It turned out that my house was fine. In other words, I got free technical advice that worked. The professionalism and honesty of this company is outstanding and these are exactly the qualities that every consumer is looking for. I will be recommending them to anyone I know. I will also use them should such a need arise.
