The office needs some organizational help big time, but out in the field, Tanner is a wizard. Make sure you get an email confirmation when booking an appointment, which I didn't do, and it led to a lot of confusion. They did an excellent inspection, and their final report arrived within 5 days as expected.

It seems like I'm not the only one who thinks that Scott is great. He came to my house yesterday to find a leak that others had not been able to find. He was very professional, knowledgeable and kind. Thanks Scott and I so appreciate you as a technician but also as a super human being.

I had what I thought was a leak in the slab. I'd gone through and turned off everything and the meter was still ticking along. I called my usual plumber and they referred me to American Leak Detection. They came when they said they would, and Tanner began immediately setting up the equipment and tracing out the pipes in the floor. It led him right to the leaking toilet that I had neglected to test apparently. ~45 minutes and we had it solved. So glad it wasn't a leak in the slab and $9 later I had a replacement valve and everything is good again.

Will definitely recommend to anyone that is looking for a good professional company. Tanner was very polite - asked before accessing rooms and cleaned up perfectly before leaving.

ALD was the third company we brought in to assess a sub-floor leak, and I'm going to echo earlier posts to build up Tanner's fan base. He arrived looking about 15 - 20 years younger than the other competitors' technicians and I confess I started off with an unfortunate bias because of it. But then....wow. If you are inclined to a similar bias, drop it when you see him coming--he's a superhero. He could have schooled the others. In his thoroughness, he found things that they had overlooked and that dictated some fairly significant changes from the next steps we need/ed to take. (The others acknowledged it.) Perhaps everyone at the company is similarly expert on evaluation, diagnosis, and--so importantly!--communication. Whatever the case, if you get Tanner, you're getting the best.

This is a long overdue review.

I had received a notification from the water company about a sudden spike in water use. I found American and called.

Brian was amazingly helpful in educating me and even providing me referrals to reputable local plumbers. He sent me a comprehensive email summarizing our discussion.

Actually, I didn't end up using them because the information he provided expedited prompt and thorough servicing elsewhere, which saved me a lot of time and money (and stress).

This company is highly ethical. I would definitely use them if a situation warrants it. I can't speak about their work, but certainly recommend them based on my incredible experience with them. They are extraordinarily trustworthy.

I am not happy. A licensed plumber was able to find the leak in 10 minutes that the geniuses at American Leak detection never did find despite being paid $150/hour for a total of 6 billable hours. (That was a leak in the master shut off valve to the irrigation system, as well as a defective sprinkler head.) What the geniuses at American leak detection did find, which was not the targeted wet spot in my yard, but rather a leak in the automatic refill to my pool. Their remedy for fixing this was a quote for $3,300.00 to jackhammer my pool deck. Fortunately after much pleading I was able to bribe their technician to simply put in a sleeve for $175.00 which provided a robust fix to this issue. (I slipped him $200.00 cash on the side). This saved trashing the pool patio. Did I mention that the first 2 times they sent a technician out he simply wandered around the back yard for couple of hours scratching his head and tested NOTHING! (They did not charge me for this.) Way, way too many phone calls for a process that started in November, ended in February, that only had a happy ending because of the other companies brought into the discussion. Bruce

It is an honor to promote this company. I was surprised by their excellent service and expertise. I was told the earthquake proofing I had done 20 years ago was ruined by water damage. I didn't know where to turn. I called American Leak Detection. I ordered an inspection which I didn't understand. I called the company. The owner of the company came right over and spent time with me. He did not charge me. He wanted me to feel I understood what I needed to fix the problem. This type of care and concern is unusual in business today.

STEAR CLEAR! Not only are the phone reps incredibly rude but they've been late every time they were scheduled to meet me.

I had my home for sale and needed to make sure I wasnt selling a house with a leak. They said they'd have a tech at my place by 9... didnt show til almost 11, only to say he wasnt prepared. Goes on to say he wants to fire everyone he works with, apologizing for the delays by blaming it on his crappy staff...This was the first red flag. But still I say fine, and schedule them to proceed with the inspection.

The following week they give me an 8-9 am arrival. I called at 9 am when no on arrived. They said the tech was stuck in traffic and would arrive between 9-10 am. Well, no one showed til 11:30!!! He was nice, and very helpful. But the tardiness is just so unprofessional and unacceptable.

Good news! No leak. But I needed the paperwork to verify. When I called to follow up, the man on the phone, HECTOR, was so rude. Everytime I called he had the shittiest attitude and no helpful information. The only time he was ""pleasant"" was when he was taking my card information on the phone. Go figure! Strongly suggest you use someone else. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and regret it!

I had my doubt initially since initially after the first visit they were not able to find the very annoying and prevailing leak in my pool. This leak had been occuring since I bought the house and started to wonder if it was unfixable or rather would require draining and rebuilding the pool, which of course would be the worst case scenario. Well after checking the skimmer, and all the pool and hot tub plumbing we waited through the fall and winter for Tanner to come back as he required the pool to be a certain temperture for him to dive the pool and for the epoxy to set on a possible pool light leak. Eventually in the spring we got around to it and yes it was an unsealed pool light that was the source of the leak. I wish I would have proceeded with this second step sooner as since its been done i rarely have to refill my pool. Sometime it just requires a little patience but the thorough scientific approach of American Leak Detection will narrow down the source of the problem either right away or eventually. Thank you guys, I doubted you for a minute but you found the source of the problem and fixed it so Im a satisfied customer. Also no wonder why my pool company, The Pool Doctor recommended you guys.
