This company is a total scam and they prey on people's vulnerability. We had a water leakage issue in the irrigation system and I called them. A guy from American Leak showed up and in 5 minutes proclaimed he has found where the leakage is and marked it. They then sent another guy over in a few days to do repair, who dug up my garden with dirt everywhere and threw his hands in the air telling us the leak is somewhere else and they can't find or fix it. He left without even turning off my water hose leaving water everywhere. All we got is a fat bill from them. Utterly disappointing. Don't believe or trust this company or anything they say.

I've reached out to this company by email, phone and even on their website (weeks ago) and not even 1 response. Given the nature of how this company is recommended, you would think that they would be more professional. No help at all.

For starters, they charge $615 for the first hour of service and it's a minimum of 1 hour service with each additional hour being $195, so be prepared for that.
So to give some backstory, I had a technician come out to my house to locate a leak that I had in my main water line. He narrowed down the leak's location to roughly a 3ft area. So, I hand dug 3-4 feet past each locate flag for a total of 9-10 feet, but did not find the leak. I then called them to come back to relocate the leak. He returned a few days later and after a couple of hours of work, he determined the leak was actually 5-6 feet away from where I stopped digging. So in total he was 10-12 feet away from his initial leak location. He then had the audacity to charge me an additional $341 (after our previous bill of $615).
The reason I am writing this bad review is not only because of the outrageous prices, but the dishonesty and unprofessionalism of how they conduct their business. The dishonesty was when the technician came to my house the first time, I asked him if his initial leak location was inaccurate, if he would charge us for a second visit. His response to both my wife and I was, ""If I am only a couple of feet off I will have to charge you for the second visit, but if I am way off, I will not charge you"". As I mentioned above, he was easily 10-12 feet off in his original ""leak detection"", but still charged me $341 for his second visit even though he was clearly, ""way off"". After the second charge I attempted to get ahold of them in which I called and left 3 voicemails and never got a call back. Finally after calling for the 4th or 5th time I was actually able to talk to someone. When speaking with the ""manager"" who was actually the person conducting the leak detection, I confronted him about how he told me he would not charge us for a second visit if he was ""way off"", in which his response was, ""Well, sometimes things come up."" Since the leak was still not specifically located even after his second visit, I asked if he would then charge us for a THIRD visit to officially locate the leak, and his response was, ""Most likely"".
In conclusion, I think this company is highly unreasonable and unprofessional and I would NOT recommend them to anyone. After being charged for two visits to our home to locate our leak, they still have not been able to accurately find where the leak is. That being said, we are now having to dig up our entire water line and replace the whole thing rather than just the portion that is leaking. I will also add that after their first visit before sending a technician out the second time, they told us that if they were unable to detect the leak and we decided to replace the entire line, they would refund us our money from the first visit. So I will be expecting a full refund for the job ""not completed"".

I have a water leak in my main water line. My local plumber referred me to American Leak Detection. I called, made an appointment, and waited 3 weeks. The team showed up almost on time and were very polite and professional.

The problem is they did NOT repair the leak. This team was only for detection. When I called the office, she said that she told me the $600 was for detection and the repair would be extra. I said I know the repair would depend on the problem, but I had expected a repair the same day.

This miscommunication has put me without water for another week while I wait on a local plumber. To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

I hired them on a recommendation to find if there was a pool leak and if so, repair it. They were good at finding the leak. Then when I asked them to fix it, they said, ""We are too busy. Find someone else."" I suppose that's better than saying they'll do it and then not showing up but still not what you'd expect from a quality company. Richard was nice enough, but I get the feeling that there are 3 or 4 ""locations"" for this company in Los Angeles County, and they are ""independently owned"" with no central oversight, it seems.

Had a ridiculously high water bill which prompted us to seek professional help right away. Two plumbing companies had recommended to contact American Leak Detection since regular plumbing companies aren't able to detect slab leaks. We definitely know that the issue is under the floors or within the main pipes since there were no apparent leaks around the house which would drive a $800 water bill for a single period. Luis came in and found the leak right away. Used the two hour window appointment to thoroughly go thru our house and make sure he didn't miss anything. He found the leak under the garage floor. Daniel came in and fixed the leak and patched the cement within 3hours. No damage was done during h toe test and fix except for the area where they had to dig and find the leaky pipe. He retested the pressure in our pipes to make sure there are no other leaks. So far it seemed our issue is fixed since the water meter isn't spinning like crazy anymore. Definitely recommend for slab leaks. As for the cement patch work, yes it is not perfect and does not match out existing floor. But this is not a cement masonry contractor. I think I'll worry and fix the floor matching issue later and prioritize the water leak first which this company had definitely fix.

I can't comment on the price of service but given that i had a very smooth transaction from the appointment set up to the fix, I think i got my money's worth. I also don't have time to scout around and get estimates from multiple leak detection companies since i am up against a very high water billing period and just want our issue fixed. Took 3working days from appointment to the fix. Will recommend the company

Very nice and knowledgeable service, BUT expensive leak detection. Skip the leak repair service which is way over priced and for heaven's sake don't let them fix any concrete that needs to be repaired. The ""fixed"" the concrete needed to be dug up in our deck, but it looks like a toddler's first attempt at ceramic work. The color doesn't match, the texture doesn't match, and there's no groove where there should be. I could have done a much better job myself, but consider hiring Santos Hernandez who does amazing cement work.
