American Leak Detection was the ""preferred vendor"" for our insurance company, so after a small leak was noticed in our kitchen ceiling we arranged for an inspection. Josh was our technician, arrived on time, called to confirm. He was great! Quickly analyzed the situation, used a camera in the ceiling to confirm the problem. One of the drain lines from master bathroom (just over kitchen) had a small leak. We coordinated with Josh and American Leak Detection to perform the plumbing repair! All went perfectly...and now we're dry! Would highly recommend Josh and American Leak Detection for your plumbing problems!

Our insurance company sent American Leak Detection to check on the leak in our bathroom. The technician Josh was great. Very respectful and thorough. Even when the insurance adjuster made up her mind before he finished, he kept saying he wanted to complete his testing before coming to a conclusion. He explained what he was doing and didn't mind me asking questions. Very professional and made sure he cleaned up when he was done. I'd recommend American Leak Detection for any leaks.

My husband and I bought our first home and found out we had a large leak. So of course we were frustrated and had no idea where to look. I always look at yelp for the reviews. American leak detection was highly suggested!
We had worked with robert in the office who was very helpful and josh came out and did our detection as well as all of our repairs. Very happy with the work and communication they did.

I saw a previous one star review, but my experience
with American Leak Detection - San Marcos, CA, technician; Jody M.... was GRAET! *****
So, returning from being away, I noticed water damage: around baseboards (swollen and pulled away from the wall) in two bathrooms (adjacent to each other).
A home builder (in the area) confirmed the baseboards looked like they had been exposed to water. He checked for a leak by stopping my water meter and he said that since my meter's ""dial"" was STILL moving I must have a leak somewhere.

I called American Leak Detection (San Marcos, CA) and got a call back to schedule a service call, all done promptly.

Jody came out with another person (oops ... don't remember his name). BOTH were very neat, professional, & worked efficiently. I could go through all the site testing results: pool, toilets, showers, walls, irrigation & meters, but jumping forward -
NO LEAK In the plumbing!!! (builder was incorrect). No moisture (in the wrong places - THEY EVEN DOUBLE CHECKED several areas to confirm. They never rushed. They were very comprehensive.

Turns out a toilet leaked only when flushed from where the base attaches to the seat (two piece model). THIS WAS THE CAUSE OF THE WATER DAMAGE. It will be an easy fix, and I feel confident that this is the only source of water exposure to the baseboards based on their thorough examination of my system. ~ Water finds the lowest point and that's why there was damage to an adjacent wall as well.

THE COST WAS THE MINIMUM they quoted me, even thought they explained (on the phone, before coming out) how difficult and extensive finding a leak can be, and the possibility of additional costs to determine the source.

I am completely satisfied with the job, the price, and the nice technicians that came out. Thank you, ALD.

Said there was a leak around the pool skimmer which there probably is but I questioned why the jacuzzi was always draining too. He said because of how piped which didn't make much sense so we isolated the jacuzzi by shutting all the valves to it. Couple days later jacuzzi was real low again so called company back. Tech called and said would call following week to set up another appointment since there was a 30 day guarantee. That was the last I heard from him and that was two months ago now.
