ALD performed pool light testing for us but did not go far enough to determine actual leak location. Just did the surface test and left us guessing if the leak was behind the light niche fixture in the conduit run or the niche itself. Called Bullseye team who went the extra steps to determine the leak is on one of our niches and puttied it for a temporary stoppage. Now our pool company knows what to fix vs guessing and doing a lot of unnecessary work.

We discovered a huge leak in the irrigation supply line in my back yard - water gushing out of a couple rain water drain pipes but not connected to the irrigation system. Had to turn off the water to the back yard which meant my landscaping was in danger due to summer heat and no water. Katy VanGorder of Katy's Organic Yard Maintenance recommended American Leak Detection after we were unable to find the leak. I called on Monday morning and got an appointment for the next day, Tuesday. Office staff were responsive, pleasant and professional.
Using their specialized equipment, the technicians were able to isolate the area of the leak which they marked with a flag so we would know where to excavate to uncover the pipes. Fortunately, my son was able to dig out the soil, find the broken pipes and repair them. (This saved a lot of money since American Leak Detection's prices for that type of work are quite high). But for finding the leak (which was in a distant and unexpected area) they were the best - they did the job with speed and expertise.

We had evidence of a leak under pavers in our backyard, which abuts to a high school. The school was doing heavy construction over the summer, so the leak detection folks could not use their equipment due to the noise. The company worked with the school construction folks to arrange a quiet time it would take to detect the leak. The technician arrived when he said he would and was very professional. He was able to locate our leak and gave us a very reasonable estimate for fixing our issue. Communication has been amazing. I am very pleased with this company.

Scheduled a few weeks ago to have our Elk Grove pool checked out.

Seems like the water was disappearing quickly, and wanted to make sure there weren't any leaks...

Tested and no leaks detected, although the skimmer may be contributing..

Tech did some small adjustments.

Hopefully, this will solve the problem..

This company is the best in the business, they are honest, caring people who treat you like family. Monte, Maureen, and the Technician who repaired the leak, a BIG thank you. You guys set the bar high, extremely high!



Place county informed me that I had a HUGE water leak (somewhere) and I was using a LOT of water. In a panic, I call a few places, Rooter hero of Sacramento responded and stated they could be out to my house within the hour. On arrival, they completed the inspection and stated the leak was from the sidewalk to the house. They provided an estimate of $18K to trench and replace the pipe!!!! I nearly fainted. I asked them to leave, this company will rip you off!

Next - A plumbing company came out, checked inside and out, couldn't find it. They used a listening device and stated it was under the concrete foundation in the front room, however, couldn't be 100% as they did not have the right equipment. To fix they would need to rip up the wood floors and used a different listening device on the bare concrete and it was my responsibility to repair! Recommended a new pipe re-route with an estimate of $8-10K - Again I nearly fainted.

My insurance company referred me to American Leak Detection of Sacramento, it had been 6 days since the leak was detected and we were living without water, just turning it on/off for essentials. I talked to Maureen, ALD office manager, and explained my situation, and how stressed I was, she was wonderful, although fully booked she fitted me into the schedule and would have someone out the next day. Monte arrived the next day, I gave him the details from the last two inspections. After 30mins, he had pinpointed the leak, it was under the Garage floor! The crew came back a couple of days later and dug up the concrete, he was SPOT ON, two holes in the copper pipe. Fixed for a VERY reasonable price.

Bottom line - Don't get ripped off, use these guys.

I'm not disappointed in the quality of service but I am disappointed in the outrageous labor cost. It was nice that the guy figured out where the leak was quickly but had I know that just squirting a little bit of dye in the skimmer, drain and fittings could identify the problem I never would have signed the paperwork. He was friendly and helpful but $400 for 15-30 minutes of work to watch dye get sucked into a hole is basically highway robbery. It's my fault for signing the contract and I accept that. Just be aware that you may be able to easily detect a leak without assistance. Do that first and if you can't figure it out call for help.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND HEADACHES. I have never come across a company with worse customer service than this company. For $400.00 their technician came to my home, pressurized all lines. No pressure drop was detected. Now let's try the ""bucket test and be patient"", LOL. The purpose here being ""are we having an evaporation problem or is it a leak problem""? It's November 4th and pretty cool outside. Evaporation problem, I doubt it. But OK I'll play along and let the pool settle down and see what happens. The leak was worse than first anticipated with the water level falling around 18 inches below the tile level. Never reaching an obvious point indicating where the leak was coming from. I never heard from the technician, so I followed up. Let's be patient, LOL. We are now moving into December, and I am scheduled for surgery. If I had not contacted the technician again (I doubt that I would've seen him again). The technician returned to my home, scratched his head and told me ""I'll have to talk to my boss, I'll be in touch in two days"". I never heard from him again.
I had my surgery. Now by this time my pool is green and was going to stay that way unless I was able to figure something out. On my own I was able to determine what the problem was and too lengthy to go into. At that time, I called ALD and requested what I believe was an amicable resolve to the $400 that I had paid them. Because they could not find the leak, the homeowner did, I asked to have half, not all of my money refunded to me. I spoke with Maureen (holy moly) and was never treated with such disrespect as I was by this woman. She acted as if it was my problem, not her company's (and I believe she is just an office manager). She sounded as if the refund was coming directly out of her pocket. By the time our conversation ended she was hollering at me, screaming at me telling me that she needed to talk to her technician. I asked her if she was going to forget about me like the technician did. She told me ""Oh no sir I'll never forget you"". Seriously I doubt if a resolution will ever be found for this problem. ""SAVE YOUR MONEY"".
By the way, if you try to post anything on their website other than five stars, you won't see it, LOL

HORRIBLE ""customer service"" over the phone - kept being told I have the wrong place of business / wrong location...so I look at the phone number to the right and the address to the right and check my phone - YEP - it was the RIGHT PLACE and the RIGHT YELP PAGE - I told these DING DONGS to CHECK THEIR YELP PAGE after telling me certain people don't work there...like MICHAEL TODD...who's right smack dab in the comments...REPLYING TO the comments - these chickee poos are ding dongs
