If I could give 10 stars I would. Pete and Nikolai came out today for a couple of issues that I had. One was in upstairs master bathroom leak which was destroying the downstairs bedroom below it. I had another company come out several times but could not determine the cause of the leak. They had recommended that I cut through the exterior of the house so that they can determine the cause. Before I went through such measures, I decided to call American leak detection and have them and they're experts determine what the cause was. Within an hour, this team was able to determine the cause of the leak Without having to cut open drywall or walls or cause any more damage then had already been. Pizza Nikolai were also able to determine why there was water coming up through my laminate flooring. Simple drainage system design flaw. I thought for sure they would be cutting through my foundation and opening up my living room. These guys are true expert and are wonderful and what they do. They have more experience and wisdom Then any other plumbing company who I have worked with. I have three homes and so I have a lot of experience with different types of contractors. These two were on time and kept me posted on their schedule that day. They were efficient and cleaned up after themselves. A true pleasure to work with this company. If I ever have another leak again, and I hope to never, I will definitely go to American leak detection right away 5+ stars and kudos to a wonderful team

Had an underground water leak somewhere that was causing our water bill to spike! Called several plumbers but none could remedy the situation. One of them recommended American Leak Detection and I'm so glad they did! Nikolai was very responsive from the start and prompt on showing up when he said he would, knowledgeable, and just an overall great guy. Found the leak, excavated the source, and recommended a reroute due to age and condition of the 50 year old water line. Nikolai was a great communicator, professional, upfront, and honest throughout with the work and effort needed. He even cut the price from his quote (twice!) since the work ended up being more straightforward than he initially thought! If you ever suspect an underground leak, don't hesitate to give Nikolai a call. He will exceed your expectations!

Our last water bill was more than double our normal bill, with usage rising from 18,000 to 37,000 gallons. We are currently remodelling our bathroom and initially suspected that the contractor may have made an error somewhere when doing plumbing work. However, it turned out to be an odd coincidence that the plumbing work and the leak happened the same time. We brought in a plumber who identified the leak as originating in the irrigation system. However, in order to pinpoint the source of the leak, we needed a leak detection service, and that is when we brought in Nikolai. He uses several detection techniques, including air pressure and sonar. We have 5 irrigation zones and had suspected the culprit was a leaking control valve somewhere in the back of the house, where we have a lot of vegetation. However, the leak was not where we suspected, but in a previously unidentified location where a control valve was underneath a portable tool shed! Once the leak was identified, Nikolai referred us to Adam at Portlock Landscaping, who took care of the repairs.

The best idea for a home with a water leak under the concrete call the leak company first they have the equipment to find the leak then call the plumber to fix the leak because most plumber do not have the equipment to find the concrete leak- please take my advice!!! Save you a lot of money don't call a plumber first call a leak detector first then call a plumber

We had a hot tub built last year and the water usage went up concurrently. As a hot tub owner, we are aware that in hotter temperatures, evaporation can play a big part in water usage, but we suspected a leak. So we called Peter at American Leak Detection. He asked us several questions about the type of tub, then he proceeded to guide us through two water loss tests. After 48 hours and two readings, he determined (and we agree because of the evidence), there is no leak. We also found the source for the skyrocketing water bill: a dead battery in our irrigation timer which caused the timer to overwater. He is careful, cautious, and willing to consult at length. Can't say enough about Pete and Nikolai. They have been to our home five times to help us with a plumbing emergency. They are always on time, they give us a 30 minute arrival window and arrive then! They've spent sooo much time helping us figure out the Best way to solve the plumbing problem that they did not create for us... They even encouraged us to look around and get a second opinion after they gave their's. We highly recommend you use these folks. They are really terrific and professional people!

I had a leak in my swimming pool and had several pool contractors assess the problem. They never could figure out why the pool was leaking. This numbing process took months. During this time, I was consistently losing water daily. Out of frustration, I called American Leak Detection of Hawaii. Honestly, I had no expectation of anything other than another failed effort to address the issue. Boy, was I wrong! Nicolai systematically examined the pool over the course of a few days and accurately identified the problem. There were several suspects in this case and he was methodical in his analysis to eliminate components of the system to isolate the culprit: a cracked skimmer. He used the Jandy valve to remove the skimmer from the system until the replacement is installed. Wow!! I haven't lost any water since he left. Thus the high recommendation. If your pool is leaking, do not waste your time and money. Instead, call American Leak Detection of Hawaii for the proper diagnosis to get it fixed. Thank you Nikolai!!

Aloha mai kakou...., these guys just finished my leak problem. Got a leak in your concrete foundation.... Pete & Nikolai will find & fix it rite away. Don't let their ""Laurel & Hardy"" persona deceive you, they are the ""real deal"". Licensed contractors, (what appears to be) sonar detecting equipments (well used, not brand new), these partners have the appearance of years of experience. Pete (ALDH owner) is a ""no pressure"" down-to-earth, no waste time, tell you like it is, kinda guy, even if it's bad news, which it most times is. He tells you that they won't ""over-charge"" you on the fix. One look at him tells you that he is telling the truth! Nikolai is a very pleasant ""spark-plug"" kinda guy, I felt like I wanted to give him coffee just to calm him down :). He can work finding the leak source & explain what & why he's doing at the same time. No stress at all kinda ""surfa"" dude. Did I say ""very pleasant"".... . And they don't waste your time about fixing your leak problem. I called, they responded the next business day, took less than an hour finding the leak area & wrote up a work proposal. Came out on the repair day, Nikolai completed the fix (less than 2 hours). Even before Nikolai finished, Pete gave me the final bill, which was the quote on the estimate. On both days (diagnosing & fixing) they showed up on time, 0830. I couldn't be more satisfied & relieved. Also peace of mind.... 5 year written warranty on this job!!!! No other plumbing company, in my mind, can beat price, workmanship, promptness, warranty, as these guys can.

Made an appointment 9/11 for TUESDAY9/22 at 9am. The next day, I get an auto text from the home office on the West coast at 5:30 AM confirming an appt on the 21st. I called and straightened that out, only to get a text SUNDAY MORNING the 20th at FOUR ELEVEN AM confirming tomorrow (Monday) appt. I didn't call and straighten it out this time. Tuesday came and I got a call at 10:23 AM wanting to reschedule. Kind of hard to figure out if they're any good at detecting leaks if they CAN'T FIGURE OUT A SCHEDULE AND ACTUALLY SHOW UP. Zero stars. Way to drop the ball ALDI.

I cannot review their work is because I didn't have to use them but I give them 5 stars on customer service. I have called twice about a mysterious leak in our new tile floor. Both times I've talked to Pete. He gave me all kinds of advice on trying to figure out the leak ourselves before having him come out. He was honest and forthright about saving money by doing some things ourselves. I am impressed that a business would do that instead of coming out right away and charging us $$ for something we could do ourselves. I figure if Pete was so helpful in saving us money, he'd be someone I'd trust to do the job.
