It's a bit daunting when the city informs you that you are using a higher-than-normal volume of water and you realize that the leak could be anywhere from the house to the meter which is located about 200 yards up the road. It took the ingenuity and technology of American Leak Detection to locate the precise place where a small section of PVC was the culprit. The technician was prompt, professional, friendly, and got the job done. I am appreciative and highly recommend this firm.
They came the next day though they are 30 miles from us. They found our elusive third septic tank by sending a camera down the toilet. All work was done as promised.
My leak was a faulty toilet stopper, but I was convinced it was the supply line from the street because the meter arrow continued to move even after I had turned off the main. American Leak used their instruments instead of my simple test, and ultimately concluded that my main supply shut off valve was also faulty and that a second toilet was also beginning to leak. Those two toilets were costing me over $50 per month, and the leak was inaudible! It could have been going on for years! They also took the time to test the city water pressure for me and to explain exactly how much leakage was occurring. Definitely an educational experience.
Quick and efficient, technician found and repaired my swimming pool leak. Friendliness and courtesy made the experience even better than I had anticipated.
They found the leak, but WAY WAY WAY too expensive. Over $300 for less than an hours time. I'm a god damn CPA and charge 2/3 of that.
Justin, their technician, showed up promptly after driving to Salem from Eugene. I needed him to find the break somewhere in a 400-foot plastic water line. He opened the valve on the water meter and calculated rate of leakage. Up at the house, he listened for leaks at outside bibs and inside toilets. Came back down to the meter, listened, located the leak within a foot of the valve. Marked it with blue paint. He double-checked his findings, wrote up a summary, gave me a 10% senior discount, took payment ($265), and was off again in less than an hour.
Loriann M.These guys are awesome! Fast, friendly, affordable AND professional. Highly recommend!
Douglas M.Checked their contractor's license and the status (as of today 12/19/2022) is listed as ""inactive"". This would automatically void their liability insurance, if they had any. The state contractor's board lists their liability insurance as ""none"". (No work comp, either).
Had a leak in our in-ground swimming pool for a year or so. About 1/2 inch/24 hours. Normal evaporation is 1/4 inch or less. Could not find it. Chris Long from ALD came here....did some testing and found and fixed the leak in one hour. It was in the pool light niche. I had done my dye test with the light in place...and it showed nothing. His dye test, with the light removed...showed the leak. He also found a small leak in the back of the skimmer and fixed it at no charge. Chris is professional and friendly. Kathy in the office is great....friendly, helpful and kept me informed about scheduling. 541-772-5325.
Chris came out and found the leak in no time. Very happy with their service and very professional. Would definitely call them again if needed. Also gave a Veterans discount and very appreciated.
