I had a large water leak on the pool or spa but could not locate it. The staff member they sent
out was professional but also down to earth enough that he was able to explain each step in his
process of finding the leak. He did find the leak it was in the return line for the spa . I would recommend this company. Considering the amount of time that he took the cost was fair

Bill came out (on time) and carefully located the leak (pool). It was underground under the concrete decking in the return line. He explained he could cut thru the decking and repair the pipe (not for 1-2 weeks). Since I was concerned that these 60 year old copper pipes might just start leaking somewhere else in a couple of years, we discussed running new PVC pipes from the equipment room. This would be much more expensive and destructive of decking, but it would provide a long term permanent solution. Then Bill suggested another idea - switching the pool sweep inlet port in the side of the pool to provide the return flow port and plugging the pool sweep into the skimmer. After discussion this turned out to be: 1) simple, 2) immediate, 3) inexpensive. Bill made the change in plumbing in 20 minutes and plugged the old inlet ports with underwater epoxy to seal off the leak. He explained that we could drill/chip this out, if in the future, we ever wanted to use them again. Very happy!

We have a swimming pool and we notice a severe leak a few weeks ago. We thought it must be a broken pipe underground, so I called American Leak Detection for a service. Bill came last week, he checked everything and found a couple of cracks. He patched the cracks for us without extra charge. While I did a bucket testing after the fix, I found the leaking was much better than before but still noticeable. I called the company and Bill agreed to come back to re-check the issue the next business day.
When he came for the second time, he found that it was the same crack causing the leak. He patched it again. Since then, there was no leaking anymore.
We greatly appreciate their service and appreciate that they treat their customer with a great care. Shelly was very polite on the phone and Bill was very experienced and professional. They did not charge for the re-check and re-patch. We paid $395 for the detection service. We are very pleased that we did not need to make extra effort for the fix because it had been taken care of during the detection check.
It was definitely a positive experience and we will surely use them again in the future.

We have been going insane trying to find out why our oak hardwood floor boards were warping and occasionally had standing water on them. We had a large amount of standing water under our house caused by the excessive rains and a high water table but we couldn't understand how this could percolate upwards, through the subfloor and buckle 1/2 inch thick oak planking.
It wasn't obvious to our naked eyes that there was water coming from under the refrigerator but to the trained eye and a powerful tactical flashlight we could see water dripping from the bottom of it. It was the first place we looked and so did our plumber but couldn't see any signs of a water leak.
A big thanks to American Leak Detection and their super technician Aaron Cortez, for finally finding the problem which, in the long run, will solve our floor problem. Sincerely, Aaron was very thorough in looking for any other wet spots around the house and gave us several tips on conserving our water.
If there is a time when you have a water leak problem you are best served by contacting a company specializing in leak detectio0n first.

These guys are a joke the other reproduction companies could not come out for 10 days because they had other jobs. ALC had Open available time slot they could come and look for my leak so I hired these guy. I am disabled so I can't fix a leak or find a leak but I knew I had a leak somewhere in my house on the hot water side. David the technician came in with all his tools for listening for leaks, A device for mapping where the pipe in the floor and wall where at and then he proceeded to pump air into the line and put a tone on my line until he detected a leak in our kitchen slab by the wall. I asked him what are the chances the leak is in the wall and not in the slab? His response was he was 110% sure it was in the slab. He's been doing this kind of work for a long time he said normally use 100% sure in this case he was 110% sure! He then proceeded to tell me that his company has contractors that can come and do the work and he gave me a written ""slab repair estimate"" of $13-$1500. I paid him the $350 for detecting my leak. My regular plumber came by later that day and opened the slab in my kitchen we found no leak in the slab. My plumber did find a leak in the wall where I had asked David earlier that day what were the chances the leak was in the wall. David responded he was ""110% sure it was in the slab"". My plumber opened the wall found the leak repaired it, and in about two hours He had the leak and the wall repaired and patched! He then had to repair the hole in the slab. So instead of having to just open the hole in the wall, fix the leak and pay for that repair. I had to pay somebody to come and replace 12"" tile in the floor after my plumber sealed up the slab! An $800 leak in the wall cost me $1400. I had to open the slab needlessly except for the fact that David was ""110% sure the leak was in the slab"". After fixing my leak I called American leak detection spoke to Jim (the owner I think) and texted including pictures several times ,(at his request). When I told Jim that David the technician was 110% sure the leak was in the slab and that my plumber found a leak in the wall Jim's response to that was that he had not talk to David yet and had not seen the report he would get back to me soon as he did both. Jim the owner later texted me this statement ""David did get you within one 12"". Nothing more. So if you want a leak detection company that will get you close to the leak, cost you twice as much money to find your real location of the leak and repair it hire these guys. If you want a company to do the job right stand behind their work hire a real leak detection company not these guys!!

Bill is the best! Our pool and hot tub were leaking. Bill found the leaks for $395 and came back and replaced the leaking pipes for $1200. He replaced the concrete to match the original with river rocks. It looks great and we are very pleased. So far no more leakage. Thanks Bill!

Bill came out today and was super courteous, called ahead, funny, and kind. Not what you'd expect from the plumber types right? Not Bill, he was a true professional and I really appreciated how he treated his employee too. Bill was very thorough and found the leak at the valve that feeds our pool, gave me some advice on how to fix a drainage leak in one bathroom and helped identify another drainage leak in the master bathroom which leaks through the garage. The way we prove the leak was taken care of is by looking at the water meter which shows the leak gauge spinning even with all of the valves in our house are turned off. Ours stopped spinning after his detection by tightening the valve.
Sorry to hear about the bad experiences of some other guy, but if you get Bill to your home, I have no doubt he will do an excellent job! Thanks Bill and American Leak Detection, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

OMG I can't believe this company.......
They came out on 11/22/16 to advise me where my main water line ran for it burst and I could not find the break.
Jim sent his guys out and they detected the line and pointed it out to me along with promising to send me a written report that night, in which I never received.
I had my plumbers and laborers here thanksgiving eve for it was an emergency and we needed water.
My guys ran a new line to find out American did not identify the line correctly.
I called Jim advising him we had no water in our back home as he advised me to call his office and he would be on it Monday morning.
I called and did what he asked to find out he claims? His secratary never gave him the message, he did know I had the emergency coming directly from me.
I then again called him Monday night when I found out his secratary never gave him the message. Once again he asked me to call his office and he would be out Tuesday morning.
So I called again and left a message, I received a call this morning from his secratary as she stated Jim would call me soon.
Once again, I never received a call from him all day so I called him this evening and he lied to me as he said he called me several times as I never received a call from him along with him stating he sent a service truck to my house and they waited for a long time with no response.
I have video cameras thru out my property and no truck ever came to my house today...
He is a real piece of work and shall be dealt with accordingly.
I shall hire another company to complete his job and send him the bill along with the addition plumbing cost for his negligence...
This is gonna be fun....
KEEP AWAY FROM THIS JOKER....

American leak detection is awesome! Bill the owner of the company came to do pool leak detection on our inground pool structure and plumbing. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He was able to isolate the leaky plumbing speedily and even went beyond by unplugging the old return line by flushing out an impacted golf ball and then removed the Above ground bypass pipes and reinstalled the return pipes to the original underground return pipes. My ! what a difference it made to the looks of the pool. He also gave me a skimmer cover for free. I highly recommend this company.

I knew I had a leak. I spent and others spent hours trying to find it. The service that I got from David Lopez at American Leaks in Morgan Hill was excellent. Davic took time to explain everything, found my major leak and two other small leaks I didn't know about.
