American Leak Detection - Bakersfield

I've never used their services. And I wouldn't. There's always people in every area of the US that do leak detection that didn't have to buy a franchise to have enough business. And they're usually lots cheaper. Check it out.

My Story: I was on a rainy Highway 101 between Avila and Los Osos Valley Road when this American Leak Detection van came charging up behind me and pulled up to about 5 to 10 feet off my rear bumper. I just kept going and after about 5 minutes of tailgating he finally pulled out to pass.

So, when I got home I sent a nasty-gram via their website. Had to fill out the contact form for a home visit because they provide no other way to contact them via email.

About 2 hours later got a call from a person I presume to be the owner saying he was sorry if I was nervous but that he didn't really do anything wrong and that he would have had plenty of time to stop if I'd had to brake.

Really. That's what he said. Not just a simple ""I'm sorry"", which would have shortstopped this review. No, he was pretty sure that I was just overreacting.

When I tried to explain to him that no, in fact, that wasn't enough distance between cars and that calling to tell me he was sorry I was wrong wasn't a really good marketing strategy, he hung up on me.

I called him right back but he didn't pick up. Imagine that. The kicker is that I have scoured the internet for any way to contact corporate to let them know the local franchisee is a bit of a reckless driver, and lo and behold, you can't find a single email address for anyone who works for them. The only way you can contact them is if you want to buy a franchise.

First of all- their page is a lie, they do NOT have an office in Pismo Beach, second of all I told them I needed my hot tub checked because it was dropping water about an inch a day and wasn't told until they got there that they couldn't test the hot tub. They could test the pool so they charged me $350 for that, but of course they didn't find any leak as my issue was with the hot tub, not the pool! Money and time had been spent and nothing resolved .

We had American Leak Detection out recently - they couldn't find the leak, charged us $320 for the visit, and left us with a hole they cut in the dining room wall while doing their search. We eventually found the leak ourselves. So... my suggestion is to skip American Leak Detection, find your own leak, and save $320.

I've used American leak detection a couple times over the last few years. To find water leaks that are undetectable with out good equipment. There always eather right on or very close to the leak. I've only ever delt wiyh KC great guy. Might be giving them a call this afternoon to come locate a leak in shell beach. Ill update later if need be but I dought I will these guys are top notch I did call kc the other day his location was right on the money
