I, as the owner, spent years gaining hands-on experience at a large HVAC firm while studying for my Master’s degree in HVAC, a journey that took five years. Upon starting the business, it was just myself and two other team members, marking the beginning of our journey. What I found challenging about working for a large company was the pressure to sell services to customers to be deemed a ""good technician."" Our promise: We will never sell a customer what they don’t need; we strive to be fair and honest at all times. Contracted job was not completed, though I paid the final payment in good faith as there wasn't much to do. Raphael subsequently stopped communicating with me at all. A neighbor also used AHI and had to hire another contractor to repair all the damage caused by AHI. Steer clear.

We had issues with our heat pump cooling our home two years ago. Rafael replaced the outside unit and coil for the inside. We continued to have issues with it cooling over the last two years. He come out to fix it three or four times. He said we needed a new unit, a second system for the upstairs, we had recalled parts. All of which was not true. He had not installed the equipment properly and it was leaking refrigerant in the inside unit, outside unit and compressor. We ultimately had to replace the entire heat pump because of his negligence.

The owner (Rafael Castillo) oversells his abilities and the abilities of his workers. I hired this company for a large remodeling job which included framing, plumbing, electricity and installation of a sump pump system. The sump pump system they installed was a complete failure and I had mold growing on brand new walls within weeks of installation. Another company re-did the entire system from scratch costing me thousands more. I hired other contractors to fix the various plumbing and electrical problems left by him/this company. A master plumber/electrician and HVAC contractor quoted nearly the same price as this company and for a much better unit than he tried to sell me. He lacks professionalism and gets overly emotional and disrespectful.

They refused to follow up with county regulations to get the new furnace they installed inspected. The owner does not return calls, emails, etc. unless convenient to him. We installed a different thermostat and when we couldn't get it working, we placed a service call to see if the issue was furnace related. He showed up, called me 'cheap' for not going through him and 'trying to save a buck', told my brother in law that he should stick to not installing thermostats (he's an electrical engineer), and said that it didn't matter that i spent 10 hours on the phone with the support line for this popular device because they 'didn't know what they were doing'.

Horrible experience that may be a one off that happened with just me, however, I advise caution when dealing with this company. Find out EXACTLY what you are getting and, more importantly, what you are NOT getting. If there was a way to post a 0 stars, that's what I would do. I feel that we were very understanding and tried to work with him to get the various issues resolved, however, he was an emotional roller coaster at every turn. We even fed him and his assistant dinner - home cooked meal - the day they installed the furnace.
