Trash, 5 years of payments and it's always a hassle to get someone to come out for a repair. Every job takes atleast 2 weeks to complete. The come to inspect in 5-6 days, then they reschedule you another week to come an make the repair. Or the try an repair an schedule you another week to try again. Most of these situations wasn't for parts on hold. They only allow you one company to work with an they always try for the quick fix which usually only holds up a week past the warranty so they can can tell you it's a new claim. You also can't leave them bcuz once you have a claim, no other warranty company will take on. I literally had to pay for my last repair on my own so I can wait a year an get a new warranty company. Do yourself a favor an avoid this warranty company.

We bought an investment condo and our realtor negotiated a year service warranty thru AHS as an added bonus! Our condo was without working air conditioning in the Southern California desert for 3 weeks. I made at least 15 calls to them trying to get the Heating and Air Conditioning service company to put in their notes so I could get a 2nd opinion request with another one of their service providers. After many days of no contact from the company they sent out and no contact from American Home Shield I ordered an escalation of the claim. The woman from that department called me and talked over me and was rude and wouldn't let me finish then said they would not approve a 2nd request and they wouldn't cover most of the diagnosis found by their service provider. I wanted another service provider because the one they sent left us hanging for 4 days. They refused to give me another company and I told them I would pay to have it repaired and send them the bill. I was told. ""have a good day"" and got hung up on. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Our contract was paid in full by the seller of our unit and it is over in 33 days. YAY!! I alerted our Real Estate agent to stop dealing with AHS as his association with them made him look bad.

AHS has been good in the past, but now they are not. 84yo mother-in-law has had AC issues in hot Florida, but AHS opened an dispatch and ""forgot to get it assigned"" She has been suffering all weekend, and now it is a holiday today. They need to do better than this.

Believe the reviews on Yelp and Google! This company should be sued or prosecuted for dishonest business practices. If it is an expensive repair that they have to cover they will delay, delay, delay. My A/C in Phoenix went out in July. Their vendor was incompetent, unable to order the correct fan motor taking 2 weeks to attempt repair. We are over 72 years old and When my house got to 99F inside I gave up and called my regular HVAC company. They had me up and cooling in 6 hours. I called AHS to request refund of my expense AND my monthly service fees. Nope, said I didn't phone in the claim (fiiled the claim online in their website as instructed.)
AVOID AMERICAN HOME SHIELD!! RUN THE OTHER WAY!!

A/C went out in March. AHS sent a contractor out and replaced the fan motor and capacitor. Jul 2o, a/c went out again. called at 5:30am and placed service req. No one ever called me! Called AHS Monday and was told we were in queue to have a contractor assigned. meanwhile it's 100 deg outside! All reps are not in U.S. Cancelled service request and contract. First company I called sending repairman out next day.

AHS is worthless!

I contracted American Home Shield in April of 2018 so far I've paid a total of approximately $1610.00. On July 10 2022 my air conditioner broke down, AHS sent out American Air on July 11 Damien replace a capacitor and cleaned the outside compressor, and stated they needed to clean the inside A-coil/dirty and stated they would have to obtain authorization from AHS and that it would have to be rescheduled. On July 21 American Air sent out Jose to clean A-coil, instead of coming inside first to see if it was even feasible to pull A-coil, as I had recommended, he began outside and ""supposedly"" pumped down all the freon in the condenser outside. Jose then proceeded to cut the inside coil freon lines, immediately I heard a hissing and I believe they released all the freon into the atmosphere. It wasn't until then that Jose stated that it was a 2 man job because he couldn't get the A-coil out without pulling the entire furnace and blower first and that they would have to obtain approval from AHS. I told him it wasn't acceptable for them to leave me without A/C but he very non-empathetically told me he couldn't put it all back together until they had authorization. I called AHS and they advised me that there is nothing they can do about it until American Air submits the authorization request, So I called American Air to complain to Jose' tech manager Guillermo who told me he couldn't do anything until AHS authorizes the pulling of the furnace. I asked to speak to his boss, Guillermo then told me that it was his dad, I started to voice my complaints to Jeff Molina the owner but he rudely interrupted and told me that he was ""a busy man"" and that ""he didn't have time"" and when I told him I would make a formal complaint he then proceeded to attack my character saying that ""I was a small person of little character"" and then he said that the customer is always right ""went out of the door a long time ago."" I then called AHS and fired American Air I stated I wanted a better a/c co to come out so on July 22 AHS scheduled Quality hvac to come fix a/c on July 26th, I tried calling them to confirm their work order to include removing furnace, A-coil and re-install, no answer and no reply to text. Quality Hvac no showed on July 26, but they informed AHS that job was completed because I received an email from AHS asking me to rate their service. Again, on July 27th I complained to AHS and tried contacting Quality, no reply to text messaging (seems their preferred method of communicating to their customers) until I threatened to make a BBB complaint. They stated they were awaiting authorization from AHS. At 1:57pm on that same day I received an email from AHS that I will have to pay $1700 for a new evaporator coil??? I don't need a new coil, I just need them to pull/clean the coil, re-install coil, braze/pressure test lines, then reintroduce freon, all of which should be covered by my policy. Still no A/C 18 days 100* ++ temps!!!

Their HVAC contractor who came to repair my AC ended up FLOODING my basement.

The clowns in Trinidad are paid to say no when you call to complain. No to everything. So I've already filed complaints with BBB, and the State of Tennessee consumer complaints, and Department of Corporations.

I URGE YOU TO CONTACT THESE FOLKS AND FILE FORMAL COMPLAINTS. LETS GET THEM SHUT DOWN.

COMPLETE RIP-OFF

This company is NOT good. They sent out a company that wanted a lot of extra fees for the furnace to be installed. I asked for a second quote or company to be sent out, they said that was against their policy. So trap me with an overpriced service company, unfair practice to the consumer. On top of that, AHS would only supply the cheapest furnace and then with the extra fees, it would cost me more than a if I had no coverage at all. I didn't want their cheap replacement and opted for the cash out. It of course is less than 1/10th of what the furnace cost and now the check has been in the mail for over a month! I call and call for it to be expedited and they say they cant. Just do ""research"" on where the check is. They say they will call back and don't. I have called so many times. I think they are hoping it becomes too much of a hassle and I go away. Nope. Writing BBB next

I had been warned about using American Home Shield, but wanted to give them a try. I have been a customer for over 20 years. I have trusted them to service my AC, but when it came to a replacement for a damper it was denied. I was told that the damper was damaged and not from normal wear and tear. Just had the unit serviced 6 months ago. They worked on the damper but now when it needs replacement as told to me by the current serviceman I am being denied. AHS told me that they would investigate and make a decision. It was simply a stall. You trust who they send out to work but they do not stand behind them. They do not send anyone out to inspect the work. They know that we didn't do anything, but was told that we need to return to the service people who worked on the unit. What kind of service is that? Was told they would investigate, but how did they do that? They never sent anyone to my home. All they can do is read from a script that is from the first tier support to the back office support to the escalation department. HQ has a wall built around their selves. They only care about taking your money and providing poor customer service. Heed my warning and cancel your policy. I am sure that this review will not see the light of day; it will be removed or buried.

I am a return customer with AHS and I have never been more dissappointed in my life. I had the bathtube in my master bath form cracks leading out from the drain. I called AHS and spoke with a supervisor for more than 30mins to make sure a standard tube was covered. He said ""YES IS WAS"",,,so after that we scheuled a service call. The service man was nice and determined my tub needed to be replaced and turned the paperwork in but now AHS says TUB NOT COVERED.
After several weeks and fights on the phone AHS finally agreed to return my $100 service fee. After several more calls and excuses the $100 finally hit my bank so I called back, spoke to a supervisor and canceled my contract. Now they want a fee for me canceling. ALL I can say is "" GOOD LUCK "".
Stay away from AHS...they are bad news.
