The origins of American Home Handyman go back to the end of World War II when Frank Laero Sr. leveraged his GI Bill post his dedicated service in the US Navy to train in the trades of carpentry, plumbing, and electricity.

In the late 1960s, Frank began bringing his sons to assist him in servicing customers during evenings and weekends to boost his earnings. As a father of six, the additional income was invaluable. Frank's expertise and commitment to service gained him the trust and loyalty of his customers.

In 1978, Jim, Frank's eldest son took over the business, and in 2003, Jim rebranded the company to its current name, American Home Handyman in tribute to his father's devotion and honor to the nation. He was a proud serviceman in the United States Navy during World War II. Frank departed this life in 2016, but his legacy of honor, integrity, and sincerity continues in the services we provide.

Mr. James Laero brings over 30 years of experience in the construction trades. In addition to his practical experience, he served as a design consultant at one of the top 100 largest design remodeling firms in the nation and with one of the Pittsburgh Business Times' Top 100 Fastest Growing engineering and architectural firms.
