If I could give Brandon Guillen and American Grade Construction (AGC) zero stars I would. We started a bathroom and kitchen remodel in Nov 2020 and it quickly spiraled into multiple change orders, him firing his entire staff, and then we fired him after he abandoned the project and did not meet the project deadline of July 23, 2021. After we fired him on Aug 9th it went from bad to worse. He called 911 on us, convinced his sub contractors to harass us, filed an improper mechanic lien, and had his subs also file improper mechanic liens. We have spent hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars to not only finish our project but to to go through the courts and bond system to remove those liens. We won our court case and we were awarded funds from the CSLB (California State Licensing Board) arbitration due to American Grade Construction abandonment.

While some of the workmanship done by AGC employees was good, it was marred by multiple code violations regarding electrical, plumbing, and mechanical work done to our home.

My first non-food, project related review, ideal timing for our first home improvement project.

It's best to start off the review by stating that due to the layout of our place, we were specific on what we needed in our bathroom reno.

I'm also in sales so I'm naturally persistent and direct. That being said, American Grade met all of our expectations. Brandon was easy to work with and eased a lot of the anxiety a typical homeowner has about upgrading anything/everything. He also knew his staff's capabilities which was a huge help in accomplishing our project (i.e. we have a 13.5' ft high ceiling).

In the grand scheme of things, our project was small, borderline tiny. But when treated with the same respect and urgency by Brandon and his team with a busy schedule, as a consumer, we felt well taken care of.

My tips for everyone looking to do a home improvement project, on top of take a good look at Brandon and his company, is (1) always have a budget to work with, (2) always have extra finances on the side in case things don't work out, (3) no question is a dumb question, (4) expect delays that's out of anyone's control, and (5) get ready to fall in love with your new space!

Will definitely work with American Grade Construction and Brandon's crew again.

I contacted American Grade Construction for a 60's bathroom remodel. Brandon is very passionate about remodeling. He took the time to listen to my ideas and figure things out. I got everything I wanted.

Throughout the project, Brandon was commutative and easy to work with. His crew was polite and considerate.

There were no major issues, but things do come up during construction. When issues occurred, Brandon acted with a sense of urgency.

My new bathroom is awesome! It feels like a spa, and I look forward to taking a shower in the morning. I would contact American Grade Construction again for my next project.

Brandon and his team just completed a total remodel of our master bathroom/closet. They were really great to work with from start to finish. Brandon was great at giving us ideas for design and materials and showed real patience with us as we made changes during the course of the work. I can't say enough about the quality of the work and how pleased we are with the final result. It was so good, we asked him to stay on to refurbish our master bedroom and to replace all the interior doors in our house. His costs were reasonable and pace of the work reflected their insistence on not cutting corners or compromising on quality. We plan to use them for additional projects in the future.

I found Brandon through Thumbtack, Brandon gave me a call as soon as I reached out to him. Unlike some other contractors I have dealt with, Brandon is very easy, friendly and patient to communicate with. I had Brandon remodeled my two bathrooms and a powder room, it took about three month to complete. Although there were some issues came up during the renovation, however Brandon always managed to came up with a solution and made sure I'm satisfied. I'd recommend him for bathroom renovations.

We hired Brandon and team for a bathroom remodel. Since the start of the project Brandon was very responsive, a great listener and gave us great feedback. He transformed the bathroom into exactly what we had imagined. His crew does great quality work and are super efficient. They wEre very respectful of our house and took great care in making sure our carpet and furniture doesn't get harmed in anyway. The whole team was very dedicated and showed up on time. They always listened to and accommodated all our requests. We needed the shower area to be ready for use before anything else and they accomplished thAt!! I greatly appreciated Brandon's professionalism and his organizational abilities. He also made sure that if we ever have any follow up requests, he is available for that. The project was completed in record time.
We are hard to please customers but this team just impressed us so much!!!! We love our new bathroom!! If you're looking for any reliable remodelers, congratulations, you found 'em!!

He is open to ideas and innovative projects. He also helped us create a special project with book shelf and upgrading our fire place.

I hired Brandon for a full bathroom remodel and it turned out great! He was super communicative and responsive, and did a high-quality job (which was most important to me!). He's clearly a skilled plumber and the tile work was great as well.

As always, these things take a little longer than expected, partially due to city inspections and my own desire to add new features and such. If you're on a tight timeline, I recommend being mindful of what might impact it and likely expect a few extra weeks on the back end as there's often surprises.

Brandon and Isidro were both great, and my neighbors actually commented on how respectful and nice they both were - which was awesome to hear :)
