They did a faulty plumbing repair causing severe water damage to our home. Drywall mold, carpet damage, etc. They came out to inspect the damage when we called them and were told they would repair the faulty work their plumber had performed as well as Covering the damages from the water leak. After numerous calls to get them to come fix it, they eventually said they would only reimburse us the $300 we paid, and that we could have someone else repair their mistake. Not only did they never reimburse us the initial $300, we are now out $3,000 for the final repairs. I have pictures, I have their Report of the Damages, but in no way shape or form would I EVER have American Air in my home again. Licensed bonded and insured means NOTHING when they don't stand behind their repair work nor return phone calls just hoping I will go away. Please take your business elsewhere.

Completely disappointed with the terrible service I received. I called for an inspection for my furnace and the technician left the sequencers unscrewed and the furnace left open when he left. I had to put everything together after he was gone.

-He told me I had a refrigerant leak without even checking for leaks. I had to locate the leak myself. Tried to tell me my furnace wasn't registered for warranty (when it is).

-He quoted ""around $3000.00"" to purchase sequencers and check for a leak. (Sequencers are anywhere from $30-$70 apiece).

-Charged me $99 and didn't even provide a receipt or write up for what was done. I called to ask for my receipt and it took 5 days to finally get it.

-I brought up several of my complaints to the service manager and he denied them and said his technician disagrees and wouldn't lie to him.

-If you are looking for a reputable company to handle your HVAC needs, please look somewhere else.

Furnace went out-window for arrival was noon to 5pm.

Dennis arrived at 4:30pm and didn't have the part. He informs me at 5:05pm and the Part store closed at 5pm. Said he could have the part store open for an additional charge of $120 or be put back on the schedule at the end of the next day.

He made me pay for the entire service ($521) before he would place me back on the schedule for the next day, before the work was done which was very shady and incorrect. This guy represents this company and elicits zero trust. Do not recommend.

We always buy the maintenance program the last fall they came out and checked everything said everything was working fine. I go to turn my air conditioner on and it wasn't working so, I called them and come to find out it was a small part that was under warranty ,this was a week ago the man that came out his name was Tom I called on Tuesday because it was Saturday holiday weekend, the woman didn't know what was going on she would have to call me back. I called again on Wednesday Tom said my part was covered he wasn't going to charge us, for coming out because he was only here 10 minutes we've been customers for 20 years they lost a customer today for charging our debit card $148.50 after the man that came out here told us he was not charging us. I guess its worth losing customer over it, a woman answering the phone wants to get nasty with me if they need $148.50 that bad they can have it .What happened to someone word I will spread the word not to use this company we've also bought a air conditioner off of them and we bought a new furnace off of them you don't wait a week, to charge someone's card bad business bad bad business that's why people don't want to give out their debit card numbers

Made appointment a couple months ago and during the weekend before the Monday appt I panicked that they hadn't called to confirm. But Lonnie called at 8:00 sharp Monday am, ""on the way"". Lonnie was a complete professional even though he was left with a problem of what he needed to do ( the guy that gave the estimate left the company and did not provide many details on paperwork).
Complicated issue requiring rerouting of many electric wires due to updating the kitchen cabinets.
Took quite a bit longer rehab the paperwork suggested.

Awesome job. Thank you Lonnie.

I am updating my review from 2 days ago. American Air Heating/Cooling Grove City, OH branch responded quite promptly to my critical review on their Facebook page, and their Service Manager (Joe) did reach out to me, apologizing profusely for their oversight in not calling me regarding the missed appointment. They have made things right by making me a deal I couldn't refuse, plus they made room in their schedule tomorrow morning to come out and replace our water heater. I was originally quite put out by their error, but they have bent over backwards to make things right which shows me they want to make amends. I appreciate their efforts and am willing to give them another chance.

I've tried this company for several items (plumbing, electrical work, heating and air) and every time it's been a worse experience. I kept trying to like them because I like the idea of using one company for all my home maintenance issues. The people that take the appointments do not listen or rely the right information to the technicians, so when they come out to do a job they have no idea what's going on.

For example, I called to do a tune up on my heat pump, made an appointment and told the lady we had a an all electrical system (no gas). The technician that came out had never worked one a heat pump or electric furnace before- he did nothing and actually did damage to our heat pump. Such a waste of $100!

This is just one example. Every time we have used this company there has been some sort of issue. Never again!

Don't waste your time and money- go elsewhere!!

This company is full of scam artist. They will misdiagnose the problem to try and sell you an overpriced TempStar. You can get a better quality Bryant or Carrier for the same price. They also charge $650 for a pound of coolant where other companies are 15% of that price. Do not hire these guys for install or repair.

If I could give zero stars I would. I would not recommend this company to anyone. While our sales rep was very nice and seemed knowledgeable the installation techs were terrible. We purchased a brand new ac unit and they did not check the air temperature coming out of the vents prior to leaving and therefore I was left in a sauna of a home for 6 hours with an infant until an after hours tech could come out and see that they forgot to turn on a breaker. We then discovered that the fan on the unit had been running for a week after we turned the ac off once the weather cooled as the techs fried our nest thermostat. Due to that, the coils had frozen and our furnace was sitting in water from all of the condensation. After speaking with a manager who refused to help we then spoke to his manager who agreed to replace our thermostat but now I fear that I won't have heat this winter and our brand new ac has been improperly used. At minimum I want my furnace serviced and repaired as needed.

Our rheem ac is out - called a contractor on our home builder's list (American Air) - Wants $2000 all together for labor for a $500 defective part which is covered under warranty - many rockford home owners with the same problem. Rockford won't help us at all. Most contactors that I have called either want us to go back to the builders contractor or want just as much money, or won't give me a quote on the phone, and we've already paid the builders contractor $380.

Update- Found an honest contractor that replaced the coil for $700 with a year labor warranty, compared to $2000 with a 6 month labor warranty - February REALLY??? .
What a scam. Even quoted the price before coming out - as long as they agreed
on what the problem was, as American Air initially told us the wrong part last
Friday, but after questioning and pressing them about a leak, he came back and said yes
there is a leak in the evaporator coil. Luckily we did so or else we would have been
back in the same situation next summer. As they only wanted to give us a 6 mo. warranty, February - really. Who uses the air conditioner then. He also jacked up the price of labor from $780 to $2000.Not happy that we have to go thru this or pay anything for a 2 year old house with a defective part, but at least not as much with this contractor. Won't use anyone on Rockford's list anymore, and definitely will not use American Air. Should have known better, but I had to use someone to cover the warranty (at least the part), thought I was doing the best thing by going back to the builder's contractor. Again, should have known better.
