Chris L.They were great! We have a rental property in CDA needed to have a new toilet installed. We purchased the toilet from homedepot and had it delivered. They came and installed the toilet for us. Communicated well took care of everything. I would definitely recommend them.
We had a sump pump that was seemingly defective. When we had American NW Plumbing come out to take a look, they effectively fixed the pump, and remediated the issue from happening again. I really appreciated the honesty and integrity of their technician!
Karen S.Called because all 3 sinks in my kitchen were backed up. Very nice on the phone and got someone here that day. Very nice guy came out and ""fixed"" it. Kinda worked but the prep sink was making a weird gurgling sound. Thought it was just temporary so didn't call them back. They have only a 48 hour guarantee so I definitely should have. Anyway, we were called out of town for a family emergency and we were gone for several days. Within a couple of days after we got back, the problem was back. Called them and she said they wouldn't cover it cuz it was outside of 48hours. She said no one would offer more than 48 hours. Called Mr. Rooter - they sent 2 really nice guys out who fixed the problem and offered a 90 day guarantee. No problems since they came out.
Pros: I called American NW plumbing at 7:30 AM 1/14/ 21 a day after the big wind storm that had all the contractors in the area hopping. The wind blew the pilot out on my hot water heater and it wouldn't stay lit. Bad thermocouple. They said they would be over in the afternoon, then called back to say they rerouted a team and they would be here at 9:00!
Not So Good: Two people came to my house and confirmed the thermocouple was bad. They wrote me up a quote for $425 plus tax to do the repair. It was 2-3 times higher than I thought it would be for less than an hours work. From the 8% tax charged I calculated the replacement part was worth $15.25. I signed off on the quote. I did mention that I bought the water heater, new and delivered, for just under $500 and have been using it daily for the last 10 years without a problem after installing it with a friend.
Even though I signed off on the quote the charge still felt excessive. I called to see what their hourly rate was and was told it was a flat rate based of national standards.
Anyhow knowledge is power so now at least you know what something like this might cost, and it might be worth looking around for installing a $15 part in less than an hour before you commit.
I cannot say enough nice things about this company! We used them back in 2008 when we had a house built and had them come out a few times after that for just ""new house"" things. They were always so wonderful and kind! Fast forward to 3/30/2020....we had a pipe break in a bathroom wall of a house we moved into 2 years ago. We had another company come out and they quoted us $5,800 + $445 just for coming out and looking at it!! America NW came out the next day and did the job for $200 (including parts) and it only took them 30 minutes. **THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING AN AMAZING & HONEST COMPANY!!!** You've definitely gotten our business back for life! :-)
Jody S.American NW Plumbing, Hayden, ID: I received a call from Mike regarding his ETA which was much appreciated. When he got there we went thru my list of potential repairs. He first tackled the stoppage in the tub, then rest of list. He was very courteous, professional and friendly. He was in/out in a short period of time. Great service and my AHS warranty covered everything.
Paul V.Great work! Fast and Friendly. Thanks Mike!
I would reccomend him gladly. He tought me as he fixed my water heater.
Honest company. Explains everything completely. High-quality work.
Expensive but all plumbers are...
I had them replace my sump pump in January 2018. It stopped working in July. I called for service and they said it would be 2 weeks before they could get out!!! Totally ridiculous - if you sell and install something then you need to be adequately staffed to service it.
Mandy D.I would not recommend this company. We had a leak under our master bathroom sink. We were originally quoted $1400 through our home warranty company for removal of the vanity, tearing up linoleum, drilling through concrete, fixing the leak, putting new concrete in, resetting the sink and toilet. They quoted 12 hours of labor. I asked the gal on the phone if it would be less if the repair wasn't as bad as they though it ""could"" be. She said, ""it could be more but not less.""
We removed the vanity ourselves. He had full access to the floor and did not have to tear up any linoleum. The plumber arrived 1.5 hours late. He left twice because he was ill prepared for the job (even though he was the one that diagnosed it 3 days prior). The first time he was gone for 2 hours! The second time he was gone 30 minutes. He worked less than 5 hours and the leak was fixed. He fixed the floor hastily with a bag of rocky quickrete, not smooth concrete like the rest of the floor. He did not have to mess with the toilet at all, the linoleum stayed intact, and he wouldn't help us put the vanity back in. 5 hours of labor and a $3 bag of quickrete... I STILL had to pay the quoted 12 hours of labor at $1400! I consider that theft.
I would never recommend this money-grubbing company for any type of work.
