Terrible customer service and even worse work. I have a Whirlpool water heater that went out and since it was still in warranty, they gave me a work order number and told me to call these people. First, the woman over the phone seemed irritated that I had a work order # and was not helpful as far as giving me a time that someone could come out. She made sure to tell me that if they determined that the problem was not related to the heater or was caused by us that we would have to pay. She says she can't make an appointment but will call the next day at 8 am to set a time. She calls at 10:30 and says he's coming in 15 minutes. I told her that my dad was there for the next 30 mins or so and to go ahead and send him over, that I would call her back if no one was at the house. 20 minutes later she calls back and says that he is sitting around waiting to hear from me, even though I clearly said I would call back if there wasn't someone there. no big deal, just miscommunication, but she, again seemed irritated that they had to deal with this at all. So he comes out, replaces the lower heating element, and leaves. Still no hot water. So we call back and he comes back out, says this time that he replaced the upper heating element. Still no hot water. So I call Whirlpool and they say that they want him to come back a third time and call them to walk through exactly what he is doing. So we call back and tell them what whirlpool said (mind you these people are contracted and paid by Whirlpool to do this job) and they REFUSE to come back to do the job! They say it's not their problem, and that we have a plumbing issue. So, back again to Whirlpool who helps me figure out that it's for sure not a plumbing issue due to the simple fact that the copper piping coming out of the heater and into the house is ice cold. They said that right there should have told the guy that it was not a plumbing issue. So they give me another company to call, who comes out right away and replaces the upper heating element first thing- this is what the other guy supposedly did the second time he came to my house but the heating element was all junked up and definitely NOT new. The new plumber says that there was no way that the guy had replaced it. So now, with no thanks to Amelia Plumbing, we have a working water heater. I filed a complaint with Whirlpool about these people who are contracted to do work for them but refuse to actually do the job. Also, as far as what they told me about """"determining """" if the problem was caused somehow by us, Whirlpool basically said that was a lie, and that if we had dry fired the heating element on accident, that they would have no way of determining when or how it actually happened, making it impossible to """"determine"""" whose fault it was. Seems to me like these people are trying to charge people as well as Whirlpool for the crappy work they are doing. Shiesty!!
