This is the worst plumbing experience AND the worst home warranty experience (American Home Shield - AVOID they're crooks) of my life. Our water heater (Rheem, not old but out of warranty) broke last Wednesday night (today is Tuesday). AHS took $100 immediately and said they would schedule a plumber. The first one, called California Contractors I think, did not call until Thursday and then it was to say they couldn't come out until Monday! I called AHS back and they got ""Amazing"" (a serious misnomer) who said they could come Friday. The technician who came said it was a thermocouple, he would get the part from Home Depot, and come back to install it the same day (Friday) or Saturday. We were going out of town but told him we would leave the basement door open. We were not in cell phone reach until Sunday. Apparently the technician did not have the authority to come back and replace the thermocouple. The office had to formally schedule an appointment with us and since I could not answer my phone on Saturday, they just moved us to the back of the pack. So when I called Monday morning, they said they could not schedule me until WEDNESDAY, a week of cold showers and piled up dishes. I tried for hours to get AHS to find another plumber or refund my $100 but they would not. I managed to get the appointment moved to Tuesday afternoon. I just finished talking to ""Amazing"" and they said, now it's not the thermocouple after all, it's the pilot unit. They have to locate one and then we have to wait until tomorrow (Wednesday) afternoon to get another appointment for installation. Apparently they are extremely busy not providing good technical or customer service. At one point I waited 15 minutes on hold. There was no manager to speak to of course. So as I go on 8 days with no hot water, totally out of dishes, I warn anyone thinking of using them, run like the wind. Use anyone else. And don't contract with American Home Shield because they are just as bad. Their customer reps barely speak English and have no power to change anything. The worst customer treatment ever.
UPDATE NEXT DAY: ""Amazing"" Plumbing called me to complain about this review. Teresa, the ninny in charge, said she would have to refer us to a ""non-Spanish speaking plumber"" although this was never an issue. The plumber did mis-diagnose the problem but we had no problem communicating with HIM. Obviously Teresa is using the Race Card to avoid her own and the company's gross incompetence. Hilarious really. She apparently lives and dies by these reviews but spends all her dubious energy refuting them. FURTHER UPDATE: First Class Water Heaters just came, spent 20 minutes in the basement, and fixed the water heater after a week of Amazing Plumbing and American Home Shield excuses and no action. I highly recommend THEM.

Very slow service. I waited a week to have a tech come and take photos for 5 minutes, then leave. Work was scheduled to commence the following Tuesday. The company called to reschedule the work for Friday on that Tuesday. This company will aid in home warranty scrutiny over claims; making it hard to have claim approved. This is a useless company to have dispatched.

It is over 3 months and still, faucet in my bathroom is not repaired. The first plumber from this company broke a part of the faucet and told me that it is part of the repair process. OK. Then replace it!!! Since then about 5-8 appointments, with different plumbers without knowing the situation, no-shows, just in time cancellation, visiting me without the right part. As recently yesterday, 9/13, an appointment was canceled at last minute and promised that someone will be at my home between 3 to 5 PM and again a no-show. Hope some day it will be fixed. Second chance is OK but seems it is a routine at this company.

Will likely update review after it gets fixed

After two months that the water heater was installed they finally mailed the permit last Aug 5. yes it took that long, I had it inspected Aug 15. It requires a correction. I already did three calls since.. Last I talked to was Theresa. They are suppose to come out today, Sep 6 between 4-6pm, it is already 7:30pm and no show. Time completely wasted. Taking out 2 stars from my original post. We'll see how it goes with this and my other complain.

They came back Sept 19th and corrected what was noted during inspection. My other complain was with regards to what was said I need and charged to me and what was installed. Have not heard from this yet.

Stay away from this company!
They replaced a kitchen faucet for me (through American Home Shield, stay away from them too!) and within 2 days the faucet flow was down to nothing. They sent out a second plumber who told us that we needed a new faucet but had to go through AHS because I chose to replace it with the exact one. Long story short, by the time (almost 2 weeks later) that the plumber finally submits his report to AHS his story changed to me having a blockage in my freshwater line. I called the plumbers to clarify what was said and remind them that the plumber told us that my faucet needed to be replaced. The plumber who wrote the report stood by his report. So I made a video of me disconnecting the faucet, testing the water pressure and installing a new faucet without any problems. And the newly installed (by me) faucet works great.
There is enough work out here where no company should feel a necessity to cheat the customer by creating false problems. I will post this on every media source I know, hopefully I'll save someone the nightmare that I went through of almost a month without proper use of my kitchen sink.

Fidelity National Home Warranty connected me with Amazing Plumbing due to a water heater going out. Their first visit, they were 1/2 hour late, with no call to let me know. They were there about 10 minutes and simply took several pictures. I explained that since the water heater had leaked water on the 25 year old plywood platform, I would like it replaced. Jesus told me that wasn't necessary. I explained that my entire career had been in construction, and replacing old wet plywood was the appropriate choice. He said it wasn't necessary. On my own, I purchased a new stand for the water heater. I left it in front of the water heater.
The second meeting with Amazing Plumbing, again they were a half hour late. Again with no phone call or apology. They finally showed up and started to work. The first thing they did was drain the hot water heater. They attached an old hose with many leaks in it. Immediately, the water was spraying on a number of boxes that I had stored in the garage. I pointed out the problem. They had no answer. Finally I suggested that they use my hose.
I had to leave for a medical appointment, an MRI, and told them I was going. After I got out of the MRI, there was a message on my phone from Jesus wanting to talk to me. I told him that in an MRI, you cannot have a telephone. He seemed very angry that I wasn't at home. I reminded him that he had been 1/2 hour late, and if he had been on time, I would have been back from my appointment. He threatened that if I wasn't there, he would uninstall the new water heater, and leave. I told him I would be home as soon as possible. I got home a few minutes later, and the new water heater was installed on the new stand that I had purchased. Jesus was gone.
I had an extremely unpleasant experience with these people, and would never recommend them to anyone. I am sending a copy of this letter to Fidelity National Home Warranty so that they will know that I had a very bad experience.
