My water heater went out on a Wednesday, and I called several firms to see who was available. All of them had a free estimate, but none could come out Wednesday. When I called AM Plumbing, they told me they could get someone out to FIX the problem on Thursday. Late Thursday afternoon, the AM repairperson spent two minutes looking at the water heater and told me it needed to be replaced. He then gave me an estimate and told me they couldn't come out until MONDAY. So I'd be without hot water for the weekend, after being told it would be fixed on Thursday. This repairperson also told me someone would call on Friday to confirm my Monday appointment. All day Friday, I waited for that call, which never came. Not willing to simply HOPE that I'd be on the schedule for Monday, I called one of the other plumbing firms on Saturday, and they not only came out and replaced the water heater within 24 hours but charged me $400 less than AM's estimate. But the true problem I have with this situation is that AM sent me a bill for $115 for the two-minute service call, even though they failed to call me on Friday as promised and never, in fact, made it clear that I'd be PAYING a service call. Granted, I made that "free call" assumption based on the fact that none of the other firms were charging service calls. But I feel like the company was not only overpriced, but slow to provide service and didn't follow through on what they said they were going to do. Had they called me on Friday as they were supposed to, I might have waited for their slow, overpriced service. And after what little they've done for me, I certainly didn't expect a $115 bill. Bottom line: From my perspective, this is a company out to make as much money as possible with little concern for its customers.

Made a phone call and got instructions on what to do. Purchased my faucet and sink fixtures and then scheduled an installation. Plumber came on time and quickly got the job done. No estimates needed. Low cost. Thanks!

My hot water went out Friday late, just before Christmas. After a call Saturday am, a tech arrived that afternoon. I was willing to replace the heater as it was older. I was informed the supply house was not open so repairing the existing unit became the only option open. Half the service call was time spent getting parts from a local hardware store. The tech got the heater producing hot water and left. Shortly afterwards, I went outside and saw hot water pouring out of the overflow pipe on my deck, a new problem. Called the tech and was told due to the hour he would not be able to return until Sunday am. The cost would be another hour or so including another trip to a hardware store. After already paying $550, it was time to cut my losses; I declined. I had found out in the meantime that Home Depot carried the same brand hot water heater and asked the tech out this. He said replacing mine would have taken two men, which he didn't have on a holiday weekend - apparently the real reason why repair instead of replacement. So I went from having no hot water to hours of no water at all (shut off the meter to stem the loss of water). In fairness to the tech, he advised how to shut off the heater itself, which I did, though it continued to trickle hot water (hence the meter shut off).

Had a corroded line to my water heater that was leaking. AM plumbing sent out Billy within an hour of my call. He replaced the line and cleaned up the area very well. The price for the job was very fair and exactly what I thought it should cost.
