This contractor came to replace a basement drain pipe that had been improperly installed by a previous contractor. Both the floor and old pipe had to be removed and a new trench excavated. However, Always Better Services turned out to be just as terrible as the first contractor. The new pipe was too shallow. It was at the surface, leaving no room to pour a new concrete floor. Its slope was backwards, running uphill instead of downhill to the catch basin. Therefore, water never drained. Sharp, broken pieces of concrete from the old jackhammered floor were thrown in and mixed with the fresh gravel that covered the pipe. At that point, we canceled the rest of the project, which was to include a new concrete pour. Unfortunately, we had pre-paid for the concrete, and despite countless requests for that downpayment to be returned, the contractor never gave it back. This company is a one-man show, and its owner is a CROOK and a CON ARTIST. For your protection - UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES HIRE HIM.

Be warned - not licensed or insured. Multiple claims and fines with the CCB and not accredited with the Better Business Bureau. Majority of his photos are NOT of his own work. Michael Broadway is not a contractor, at all. Has no concept of code regulations or the ""right way"" to do things. I ended up having to hiring another contractor to come in and redo EVERYTHING Mike touched for a bathroom remodel. He notched the floor joist which comprises the structure (had to be reframed), installed a plastic retractable RV sanitary line for my bathtub (kinked and shoved into the floor, could not drain), and did not seal any pipe connections. Also, did not install the pan liner or waterproofing correctly in the shower and within a month the shower leaked into the dining room and I had mold! Stay away, far away!!

I would love to write a good review for Mike, as he's just starting out with his business, but after paying him half of his estimate to begin his services, he just couldn't make it happen with fixing our chimney. Biggest issue is we asked him for a refund and he didn't send it.
I would suggest you find another person to do your work, he's just not dependable.

Oh man... I almost feel bad writing this because Mike is a real nice guy. However, that said .. I totally regret hiring him. He does NOT know how to do drywall or properly install lighting wiring and he cuts corners to the point that it's dangerous. He told me my project would take 2 days to complete, but a week passed of him showing up sporadically (always late) for an hour or two, unprepared, lacking materials, messing up my house, breaking my garbage disposal with drywall debris, etc before I stopped work and hired someone else to rip it all out and redo it. Here's a pic of what was found after the new contractors ripped off the drywall. It's wiring taped to the studs - no metal protector plates that he literally told me himself was important to install to keep someone from drilling or nailing into live wires.
I could go on but I think you get the picture. I do not recommend. Sorry Mike. You're a nice guy but Always Better - more like a Better Not in my experience.

We hired Michael to come to remove the sink for new counter tops. He was scheduled to come this Sunday afternoon. He never showed up or returned our call until later the next day(we had to find someone else because this is a time sensitive job). So needless to say '""always better service"" is not what it is
