Recommended Customer Reviews

This is a Zero-star review, but they don't let you leave a review without giving at least 1. Not only did this company charge over a thousand dollars for getting heat in my son's home, but they also didn't even get the heat working. Why you ask because they didn't purge the system and the pipes froze. So the company now wants additional $3000 dollars to fix their technician mistake. With the temperature in the negative 40's dipping down past Negative 50, how can this company claim to have done anything except rip people off. So, while the company staff has heat in their homes my son and grandson don't. It just shows where this company's ethics are, take their money and run we don't care if they don't have heat and we caused the pipes to freeze. We got our money. How disgusting for a company to treat people this way.

Took my old pump that I could have returned for 300 dollars and took 1050 dollars from me told me my boiler was working and we're still cold 5 hours later with not a word from the ""company you can trust""

Altrol replaced my pressure tank and well pump with a new Dab pump and water softener. Excellent work and value. Very knowledgeable plumber named Jason and Andrew B serviced my forced air furnace as well. Very happy with the results.

Another example of poor performance: I had a small repair and tuneup done. I won't even gripe about the high prices (which are quite high) because I agreed to it, but I did not agree to $1400 of additional charges for work that they didn't actually do. When I called them to discuss the fact that I was billed far more than what the technician showed me as the final price, they could not understand what I could possibly be upset about. It took me almost all day as well as sending them receipts and photos to convince them that $1400 worth of work they said they did was never done. This included their claim that they replaced an expansion tank. Thankfully I had before-and-after photos to prove they did not do that work. They also claimed they provided glycol that they pumped into the system but, on the contrary, I had purchased glycol myself and they just did the pumping. I had to find my receipt from the glycol purchase (which I purchased at their tech' suggestion) before they would reverse that charge. The final straw (as if one was needed) was when, even after being caught red handed charging for work they didn't do, they wouldn't even honor the technician's promise of 10% off the entire service if I signed up for their VIP program (which I did at that time). They gave me 10% off part, but not all of the service. As with everyone else on yelp who has reviewed them, I will not use them again.

Never use this company. They will overcharge you and not fix your problem. They say satisfaction guaranteed and then rip you off! Horrible service. Costly and still had problem they were supposed to fix. Another company solved the plumbing issue within minutes. Multiple calls/complaints to Atrol got no results!!! Never use them unless you want to throw your money away!

Total ripoff. ""Technician"" came out to look at our boiler and said it wasn't working because there wasn't enough fuel. We told him we had 50 gallons in the tank and he said that's not enough. We thought that didn't make sense (we are from here and have never heard this before) but ordered a top-off the next morning anyways. The person who filled out tank the next morning explained it looks like we were reading our fuel stick wrong and we actually had 110 gallons of fuel in the tank. Andrew Baumgardner literally came in, told us some story about not having enough fuel without even taking a look at the boiler itself, and charged us $450. I called to ask for my money back and got transferred to some manager and he sounded like he had just woken up. Altrol is a company of liars and rip-offs.

Please read all these reviews @ 1 star. I would rate them less if I could. Altrol uses predatory tactics and pricing to gouge their customers for as much money as they can. My story: I needed a simple annual clean and tune for my boiler, a service I've gotten in the past for approximately $450 from Aire Serv and Cowles heating. Unfortunately, they were both booked or unavailable. So I used Altrol. They have a callout fee of $150. I can understand this if its unscheduled, however I scheduled the visit WEEKS in advance. I thought, ok, not a big deal they were my last and only choice so whatever, I'll pay. I paid over $1200 dollars for this annual clean and tune. OUTRAGEOUS. This included a $250 ""troubleshooting"" fee because i had a 5 minute conversation with the tech about a small issue I've been having. I did NOT ask him to fix it and he did not do any troubleshooting. It was a conversation and nothing more. If I knew it was going to cost me 250 dollars I would have shut my mouth. This is absolutely unforgivable and I will never use this company again. I will tell everyone I know to avoid this business like the plague. Date of service 12/3/21.

We had a new furnace installed by this company a few years ago, and this winter it went out completely. My husband started working on it as Altrol is so EXPENSIVE for even the smallest things. He so far has found that when it was installed by altrol, that parts are not bolted, pipes are not joined, major parts are just hanging loose, not sealed from the outdoors, a part that is supposed to stop melting water was not put in at all, etc. This is a company that originally charged us about 8000 for the new furnace and installation. After they installed the first one, the had to come back and replace it because it filled up with water and they couldn't fix it! I would have thought that for that much $$$ they would have done it right. Avoid them at all costs if you want your job done correctly. I hope you read this Mr Bridges- Your company has poor skills and charges that are outrageous. After my husband fixes this heater it will probably never fall apart again, it should have been done in the first place.

Was a stretch to justify $2500+ to get a hot water heater replaced. They surprised me a week later asking for $500 more to have an inspector revisit the site because two installers onsite in the first visit forgot an earthquake strap.

BEWARE!!! I called Altrol to do a tune up. I did ask them how much and they said that they need to come out and look first. By the way, just to have them come out and give you a price, it is $149. The tech came out and looked at my furnace, said it would take about 15 minutes, good money for trip and 15 minutes work. He took a picture of the one thing that needed to be cleaned. The pipe needed to be brushed. He went thru and explained how everything else was very clean and didn't need to be done. When I asked him how much it would cost, He had to go get his 3 ring binder with all prices preset. He then looked thru the binder and quoted me $ 879. But since I belonged to their preferred club (I think that is what it is called), it would only cost me $839. I said that you only need to brush the pipe, right. He said that he does still need to do a tune up, a 32 point inspection and checks the voltage and changes the fuel filter. You see , it is all flat rate. I did call 2 other places and they said $350 for the first 1 1/2 hour labor. The 2 company techs said that if it takes longer, than it will cost more. I said that at least I am not paying ahead of time in case it is not needed. I am told by 2 other companies that if it is regularly maintained, it takes about 1 1/2 hours. He also said that I needed to diagnose my garage heating unit and that they charge $300 an hour. I told the tech that i am not the only one that feels this way, he laughed and said no, it happens quite a bit. I called them because they installed the furnace 12 years ago , before I bought the house. I can't imagine what it must have cost them. Beware, call around, lots of good reputable companies out there.
